It's better than you might think. These aren't just cute cats; they're skilled burglars.

My old boy cat is starting to get a bit unpredictable in his toilet habits. If there's a teeny weeny spill of kitty litter (I mean, less than a quarter cup) in the cat box room, he sometimes decides to go there.
Our only other boy cat got funny about his habits in his last year of life, too.
The worst thing I have right now is a kitteh (the other one, a 5 year old female) who chews through electrical cords. She prefers the thin headphone cord or Mac laptop cords. Very annoying!

One dance with the TV's AC power cord should cure her of that. Possibly permanently.

Are you ready for Cash for Clunkers--the sequel?
According to Senator Stabenow's website, her proposed legislation, known as the "Charging America Forward Act" (S.29
Essentially, if one were to buy a $41,000 Chevy Volt, the buyer gets a $7,500 coupon, so the final price is $33,500. In the end, the auto dealer assumes the risk of the government giving them this tax credit.
It is pretty convenient that Ms. Stabenow, who represents a state where GM is headquartered is pushing a bill that is also supported by Edison Electric Institute, whose president was loaned a Chevy Volt, Eaton Corp: the sole American producer of car recharge systems, and Battery Electric Vehicle Coalition, a lobbying group for the electric car industry.

It's almost as if these Dems don't give a flying fuck about the environment, in favor of passing out bennies to their buddies. Nawwww, couldn't be.

Yeah, that's an awful lot of cats for one house.
Maybe it's like that Warner Brothers cartoon where Sylvester's pals are trying to get him to blow his inheritance on catnip and nubile mollys, while the financial advisor explains capitalism and investment.

Yup.
So far she's sticky to "vermicelli" cords.

(Wealthy) electric-vehicle buyers already get a $7500 credit. Is that an addition or an extension of the current program?

Not always true. The two girls we have now love to curl up and give hugs. The younger one is really attached to D'oh Boy, and sleeps with him when he's home. When he leaves, she won't even go up to his room, and stops eating for a day or two. Sigh.

Better--cash money instead of a tax break:
"the proposed Obama Budget, changes the existing $7,500 electric vehicle tax credit “into a rebate that will be available to all consumers immediately at the point of sale.”"

The oil companies have methodically built up a national gasoline/diesel delivery and logistics chain that would cost billions to duplicate or rebuild. Where does the equivalent "local" recharge station come from? The same place we go to for high speed rail--the taxpayers. And, if you don't like waiting in line to buy gasoline now, think about waiting for the Chevy Volt ahead of you recharging---and recharging---and---
CNG has a similar distribution problem in my opinion, but could more readily be layered over the gasoline stations. And once there was some semblance of a distribution network for CNG, it seems like adding more such outlets would just get easier.

I had a tomcat that I used to put in the downstairs den for the night, so he wouldn't try to run outdoors. So many mornings I'd find him roaming about the upstairs, and I'd accuse other housemates of opening the door to free him from the den. Everyone denied they had anything to do with the cat's escape. One day I was coming down the stairs and heard a clicking sound. I saw the latch on the outside of the door pop up, the door opened, and out strolled the kitteh. He had jumped up and released the latch.
Smart critter, he was.
