"After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie SheenÂ’s services on Two and a Half Men effective immediately."
I expect an equally terse statement from Charlie Sheen.
In related news, Will Arnett needs work.
I read in a NYT article that Sheen had kept out any morality clause from his contract. Well-played, man. So presumably, while he may be fired, he's also still under contract, at least unless the show ends, right?
Old Wish: That Charlie Sheen's next venture would be trainwreck reality TV
New Fear: That Charlie Sheen's next venture will be porn
Sheen Already Responded:
"This is very good news. They continue to be in breach, like so many whales. It is a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge because now I can take all of the bazillions, never have to look at whatshiscock again and I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension."
Which is about three months according to my bid in the Dead Pool.
Okay, well I expect that that will be the reserved Mr. Sheen's last statement on the matter.

Now Sheen seems determined to take the legal fight to the next level. In his vintage colorful style of bizarre imagery, he reacted to the firing with a statement to TMZ: "This is very good news. They continue to be in breach, like so many whales. It is a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge because now I can take all of the bazillions, never have to look at whatshiscock again and I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension."

He may have kept a morality clause out of his contract, but he very likely has a non-defamation clause that makes criticizing his employer or bringing them into disrepute through his actions or speech a firing offense.
Do as many hookers and as much blow as you want, and the producers won't bat an eye. Start calling the showrunner "a stupid, stupid little man and a pussy punk" and making fun of his Hebrew name, and the producers will find that your behavior has crossed the line and is incompatible with your continued employment... because you made it personal.

Do none of you Morons remember the TV show Valerie?
NBC creates a TV show for Valerie Harper and calls it Valerie, all about a mom named Valerie raising her cute kids (including a teenage Jason Bateman) almost single-handedly due to her husband's career as an airline pilot.
The show does great. Valerie Harper asks for more money per episode. The producers balk. She threatens to walk off the show until she gets her quote.
The producers order the writers to kill off Valerie.
The show comes back from summer reruns with a somber funeral episode. Oh, and a new title: The Hogan Family. Oh, and a new female star: Sandy Duncan comes aboard as Valerie's sister-in-law who volunteers to move in and help her brother raise his kids.
The retooled show does even better than Valerie.
No star in Hollywood is irreplaceable if he or she crosses the producers.

Note what happened to Ricky Gervais. When he was being a douche toward all the usual suspects, like W and God, the Hollywood folk lionized him. When he used his slot emceeing the Golden Globes to go after Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr., suddenly he wasn't so damn funny after all.

It definitely looks like it. The difference between his case and so many others is that he did hard time. Here in CA, we have a Get Out Of Prison Free card, thanks to Prop. 36, for drug cases. But Downey exceeded those parameters and went to prison. He himself credits that for his rehabilitation.

Is the claim that's an implied provision in every contract?
I don't think it's implied. I think there is a written morals type clause in there- one of our local tv anchors started doing some dodgy things (involved with married man under indictment, etc.) and she was fired under that clause.

The problem for him is the voracious appetite for entertainment in America. 6 months from now his warlock whatshiscock vatican assassin schtick is gonna sound like Henry Youngman working the Vaudeville circuit. We demand ever fresh, ever new material. Which is why our popular entertainment is created by a steady stream of Ivy League 20-somethings. We squeeze their brains for clever, funny and, most importantly, new jokes and new gags and new catch phrases. And when their skulls have been squeezed dry we get a new crop of clever 20-somethings.

I agree. I know a guy who was a tv writer in his 20s and by his mid-30s couldn't buy his way into an interview. He made great money in his 20s, though and lived it up in Hollywood. A few are able to make long careers of it. And a few figure out how to become producers and move into management. But most get used up and spit out.
And that's life. Very few 40-somethings can think up something new and funny that nobody has ever heard before. Even if they used to be great at that back when they were 24.

I said "That's not her name. That's Bree Olson".
This is funny.
Had a friend who figured his BiL was had to be gay because he lived next to a famous Porn Starlet, but didn't know her stage name...
that Porn Star - Jenna Jameson.

Most fun, Ive had reading a legal missive.
-----------------------------------------
Your client has been engaged in dangerously self-destructive conduct and appears to be very ill....
Warner Bros. would not, could not, and should not attempt to continue "business as usual" while Mr. Sheen destroys himself as the world watches.
Warner Bros. is entitled to suspend Mr. Sheen's employment under the
Agreement due to his "Incapacity" under Section 12 of the Standard Terms and Conditions
There is ample evidence supporting Warner Bros. reasonable good faith opinion that Mr. Sheen has committed felony offenses involving moral turpitude (including but not limited to furnishing of cocaine to others as part of the self-destructive lifestyle he has described publicly)

Oh, and I do remember how Charlie read one of his ex-wives (Denise Richards) shit backwards and forwards for committing the worst sin an actor can commit in Hollywood, "You're unemployed, you jobless loser."

Sheen will probably outlive us all. A vagrant, toothless, drinking Freight Train and wrinkly. But he will outlive us. And he will be happy doing it.

A 1928 Porter,
That's my mother dear.
She helps me through every thing I do
And I'm so glad she's here.
I hear a song once and the lyrics stick in my memory forever.
Never saw the TV show.
Wouldn't Hindus take offense at this mockery of reincarnation?

This one is easy: Charlies' usual coke dealer is the son of a coke dealer who sold a gun to a coke dealer who did time with the son of another coke dealer who once owned a string of ho's who serviced a coke dealer who was cellmates of the coke dealer for John Belushi, who co-starred with Kevin Bacon in Animal House.
