Lying. As Zombie does, too.

In San Fransisco (where else?), gays held a huge parody of the Easter celebration featuring, of course, lots of male nudity and some raunchy sexual stuff.

And of course the naked buff guys walking around dressed as Jesus. And the fat guys walking around as parody nuns.

Because, like, tolerance. No bullying! No mockery! Those are bad things.

Except... when they're fun. I guess.

Little warning on the link: Some of this isn't as pixelated as I might like.

He asked his Father not to hold it against them and loved the people making fun of him. I have been watching some old Japanese shows over the last couple months, and by and large they are a whole lot more respectful of Christianity than is Hollywood. Even the anime that had Christian cult as the opposition for a couple episodes was quite clear that it did not represent real Christianity, and had sympathetic Christian characters. The suppression of Christianity under the shogunate seems to be considered a black mark on their past.

I think what bothers me most is that Zombie refuses to pass moral judgment of any kind, but what gets his/her panties in a knot is the double standard: that if Christians were to mock gays in similar fashion, they'd be, uh, crucified. (Never mind the fact that a true Christian would never mock similarly) Then s/he goes on to suggest that what is good for the goose is good for the gander, and he/she wants all speech to be this free.

Can you just for a minute imagine a world, a US, where every kind of vile hatred of the "other" was demonstrated in like fashion, every day, every weekend, in every park, mall, or town square, in front of any age group?

I think it would be called Hell. Perhaps we're there.
