— Ace Sometimes, of course, a climate of hatred is politically useful. And fun!
Hopper has received threatening phone calls and e-mails. These are threats of a physical nature. “We are working with law enforcement in my district. They are watching my home and my business.” Other Republicans have had their homes and businesses threatened, too. The unionists have demonstrated outside those homes and businesses.A menacing old phrase comes to mind (and has been used by others, in talking about events in Wisconsin): We know where you live.
Taranto notes that the New York Times is ratcheting up its Climate of Hate campaign again, this time about some lawmaker saying he wants to put activist judges on the "endangered species list." It's a joke, made because those judges refuse to allow states to take the not-endangered-but-thriving-and-pest-ish gray wolf off that same list. The Times has kittens, of course, and Taranto notes how stupid this is.
But don't expect the Times to note that union goons are threatening lawmakers. Or the climate of hate on display at the days of rage (already noted by DrewM. in his earlier post):

That explains why the scrunt in this video* (around the 2:45 mark, but watch the whole thing) is so afraid her husband's business will be attacked over her actions--that's how the left acts, and they can't imagine other people won't act the same way.
(Or maybe she realizes she's dead wrong on this thing? Theoretically possible, but improbable.)

I say turn off the fucking credit cards and/or charge them with misuse of their government issued cards. When they have to start paying for it out of their own pockets, they'll change their minds.

As the Obama economy grinds on, there will be more days like today in Madison. Ohio is on deck. This is what being out of money looks like at the state level. States cannot use Uncle Ben's printing press and just wish more money into existence.
Now, they may try and do something sneaky at the Fed level with buying state bonds, but I'm guessing they would start that nonsense with one of their really broke and really fav states, like Illinois, or NY or Cali. If they start doing that, then Daryl Issa will have a lot more to do than poke around for Chris Dodd's old mortgage papers.

That's been shot down as illegal in a number of legal eagle blogs. However, what they have already done, is issue Build America Bonds that went to states who in essence used the money for expenses so that they (the states) didn't have to issue new state bonds.
They're trying all sorts of end-run type things to keep the shambling juggernaut of big government running but we're still staring at a headlight and hearing a loud horn.

now that i think about it, this is just like Congress: by the time debate has ceased, no one knows what the hell the bill is all about. every vote is simply a random draw for either a black ball or a white ball from the jar. the original intent has fallen by the wayside.
the only problem with congress is that the black balls do not equal the white balls in the mix. motions pass with a bias between the black and white balls in the mix that was done stage right by some stagehand with instructions by someone to mix X white balls with Y black balls.
we might just as well have rabbits to tag the balls, and save the costs of congress in one swell foop!
i need to piss.

open world = not a linear story. You can go explore, meet people, do quests in any order, etc. You're not directed down a single story-path.

I have to say, I got a kick out of their posters. I do love their new obssession with Mubarack. They only had to change a few letters on their old "barack" signs and they were good to go.
It's that they actually get violent, and they shit all over wherever they are, that makes this bunch the destructive subhumans they are. The signs and Hitler/Mussolini/muBarack references are good fun, though.

The unions are going all in on this because this is the hole in the dike. If they don't plug it, there will be a flood that will wash them and their corrupt ways down the sewer where they belong. This will get worse before it gets better, but we have the stronger hand because we pay the bills. Golden Rule, Gods of the Copybook Headings, whatever, old and tested beats new hotness every time. 254 I would probably be more lenient towards the Egyptians, since, you know, they actually were protesting their poverty and being bullied by a despotic state for reals (no, I don't consider teachers not being able to afford that Costa Rican summer trip, a new SUV, or coverage for your tit job all that oppressed) -- and the Egyptians don't live in America, so they aren't really bound to like us, unlike, you know, actual American citizens. And Egyptians were actually willing to take on war camels of doom and riot police, which I don't see the teachers having to put up with (drat).

The Greek unionists are really ticked. They thought the American leftists were going to portraying themselves as Eurotrash leftists. Now the damn Egyptians have thrown a wrench into the whole thing and taken the fancies of the American left.
I think it's because the Greek names are too difficult for the Wisconsin teachers to spell ... and, like I said, they just had to do some minor adjustments on their "barack" posters to get the new "mubarack" theme going gangbusters.

did anyone see paul ryan on greta? He had me so confused. He said BO increased the budget, which I thought was non existent, by 24% to the departments, over the last two years. He said they then got the stimulus so it was increased overall to 84%. So he was saying they want to ratchet it back to pre stimulus levels and take away the 24%. So why not take away the rest of the 84% too. Cause Greta had a snotty blond guest on who had to admit a lot of the money is squirreled away and not yet spent. So, if it's not spent, why spend it, why not just take it back, they obviously didn't need it if they squirreled it away right?

Latecoming post, but it is absolutely STOOPID of the Dems to flee the vote.
They tried that crap in Texas over a purely political argument concerning redistricting (and therefore had a purely political case for their shenanigans) and got crushed in public opinion for it.
In Wisconsin, they have now ran away form a core reason for them to even be in office, the budget.
Couple that with these idiotic protestors, schools being shut down, and these supposedly fine outstanding public servants acting like entitled asshats- WI should be pretty firmly in the Red column for some years to come.
Hell, part of the reason Walker and the rest came up with this deal was so there WOULD'NT be massive layoffs of teachers.
Freakin' stupid. Threaten to fire the lot of them. With 10% unemployment, there are plenty of people who are willing to take their jobs- and probably actually improve the image of the state worker by WORKING.
There are a lot of hard working state employees, I am sure. But the lazy unfirable minority that sets the image is sizable, or else people wouldn't have the perception.

Walker needs to counter this stupid move by the Dem's. Budget related bills need a 20 person quorom but all other legislation requires only a simple majority. The Republicans should start passing bills that the Dem's hate like conceal care, repeal of minimum mark up, and the granddaddy of them all, Voter ID. I wish I could think of more.
If Walker is feeling generous, give the Dem's 24 hours to get back to Madison or else the legislation goes through.
Apply pressure, significantly. They are testing the new Gov and he's got show them he wont get pushed around.
