The Libyans deny it, but the claim is that a Libyan fighter was ordered to bomb the rebels but instead turned and crashed his plane into a loyalist barracks, killing Qadaffy's son.

28 I do question why someone who objected that violently to his orders wouldn't just have bombed the barracks instead of crashing into it. I don't see mention of what kind of jet he was in, but if he was ordered "to bomb" the rebels, he presumably had bombs.

I mean, at the very least, could he not have bombed one barracks and then crashed into a different one, too?

I wonder what percentage of the Army is still loyal. Libya under Qdaffy kept the Army based on tribal loyalties which seems to have kept it more or less loyal.

The rebels could have saved a lot by using a suicide truck bomb to take out the Daffy kid and saving the suicide plane hit for something more important. These suicidal armies always have problems selecting the appropriate suicide attack mechanism.
