— Dave in Texas Maybe she didn't get any phone calls from Obama either. Or was that just the cabinet heads?
She's had her fingers in the negotiations for new auto emission standards, was a player in the GM and Chrysler theft bailouts, but she couldn't get Cap and Tax across the goal line. In the current political climate (see what I did there?), that's even less likely, so she's off to chase the next pretty colored balloon.

4 Maybe she'll go work on Newt's campaign. He was big on cap and tax a couple years ago. Any bandwagon will do for that sleazball.

Those polls are fucked, for one thing they are polling adults now and not registered voters which always gives the sitting president hight numbers.
The ones that have him over 50% are polling 10% more dems than repubs, 11% more obama voters than McCain voters and 20% of the polls are union households. Only 12% of households in the us are union.
The ones that have him under 50% are only polling 7% more dems that repubs. If someone did a poll with a 35/36 split and polled registered voters you would find him around 42%
Gallup has the dem/repub split right now at 35/36.

Amazing that just a couple years ago the AGW alarmists were hysterically screaming that if we didn't spend trillions and crush our economy we would die from melting ice caps and rising waters yet here we sit after having spent trillions and our economy in tatters and my balls are trying to retract inside my body it's so cold.
I can't believe anybody ever bought into this shit. Naw, see, that means the trillions worked.

Truly. For such an acolyte to leave is, well, unprecedented.
She was a hard-corpse greeny dating back to the pre-Clinton years. Either the cause is shipping water or the the administration is. If everything was copacetic she would never give up such a sweet gig.

You heard from the MFM that this past Christmas season was a return to the shop till you drop blowout for the retailers. It was mild and under expectations. Initial unemployment claims were dropping but went back up in January, which wasn't trumpeted of course since they did a Jim Cramer on the laughable ADP report.
A lot of people were holding off purchases and paying down debts. I think the improvement came from replacement purchases by people whose debts were paid down, not from new purchases coming from a feeling of prosperity.
Food prices are going up, fuel prices are going up, but pay isn't going up because we're a very long way from 5 percent unemployment again, and if anyone thinks their home values are returning to 2006 levels, they're in for a nasty whiplash

“This’ll be spun as part of the standard midterm turnover inside the administration, but the big difference between her and people like Axelrod and Gibbs is that they’ll be replaced. She might not be, for the simple reason that her portfolio is all but dead in the new Congress. Which is to say, it’s not so much that she’s quitting. It’s that you fired her.”

Her computer hard-drive has already been wiped clean, her e-mails erased, all relevant documents shredded.
It's Clinton Administration redux.
