Contempt Charge Coming For Lawless Attorney General Holder?
— Ace

Refusing to disclose subpoenaed documents for Operation Fast and Furious and Project Gunrunner.

It's time to stop with the kid gloves.

17 Ever since I heard of op F&F I was wondering what the point was. I mean, if the op WORKED what was it supposed to do? This morning I watched the coverage on TV and heard the anchor say (paraphrasing), "large amounts of guns bought in the US* used by Mexican drug gangs" ... *these would be the F&F guns. ... and I figured it out. The DoJ wanted to use the publicity about guns bought in US gun stores used by Mexican drug gangs, without disclosing that this was part of op F&F, to impose more restrictive regulations on gun sales! The failure of the op was not that the guns got into Mexico, the failure was the disclosure that there was an op!

Contempt Charge Coming For Lawless Attorney General Holder?

What I don't understand is why this is even a question.  How is it not a given that ignoring a House subpoena is going to result in a contempt charge?  I'm not talking about making a justifiable argument that X document is classified for Y reason, blah, blah, blah.  Holder's DOJ has done none of that.  They've just ignored the subpoena.  WTH?  If I did that my ass would be in jail, or fined like you wouldn't believe.

Why are we even asking about a contempt charge, when we should be hearing about Holder being forced out and his whole administrative team put on unpaid leave pending investigations into this and other miscarriages of justice.  The Voting Rights Division alone is a treacherous hive of scum and villainy that needs a serious weeding.

From Gunwalker / Fast And Furious?  From Holder shaking down the Toledo Fire Department because DOJ lawyers don't think that a fireman has to be literate to do his job?  From his appointee to the NRC being revealed to have been acting imperially in illegally shit-canning Yucca Mountain and threatening any NRC commissioner who disagreed with him?

Saw John Stossel on a Fox special this weekend- he helpfully showed that even if the USGov was to tax "the rich" at 100%, they would get just shy of 700 billion dollars- which would be a bit less than half of last year's deficit.

See the side bar where Zero plans to train 10,000 new engineers per year? What a dunce. The manufacturing is drying up in this country. Without manufacturing, you only need structural/civil engineers. The market for engineers is going away. The degree is just too damn hard to get to be worthwhile these days. You can get better return on your money and time elsewhere. Talk about someone who has no clue at all, Zero is da Man. The market drives the demand for skilled people, not the other way around.

The law enforcement procedure aplied here sort of inverts the speculative one in the science fiction movie Minority Report.  In contrast to the probabilistic predictive outcomes shown in the movie, by using the more reliable Fast and Furious technology the government can predict with absolute 100% certainty that the crime is going to happen, because instead of using psyhics with wires up their butts to guess at it in a dream state, they use the brutally simple technique of ensuring a reliable supply of the means to commit the crime.

And then instead of rushing in and preventing the crime at the last second, they let it happen and blame the 2nd Amendment.

Think about it: they want to reinstitute the scary-looking rifle ban on Americans but sent hundreds to Mexican drug gangs.

...to.  Mexican.  Drug.  Gangs.  And, oops, had no tracking system.  Didn't.  Track.  Them.

Time for a grand jury-special prosecuter to get to the bottom of this one.

Oh and speaking of Moochelle, there's this:

Mrs. Obama will be in California today and tomorrow, visiting Los Angeles, Pasadena, Oakland and San Francisco. She will hold two official “first lady” events and be the star attraction at FOUR fundraisers.

Whether she would have attended the official events if she wasnÂ’t going to troll for money is anyoneÂ’s guess. But what seems likely is the cost of flying Michelle out to the West Coast so she can soak the legions of wealthy Californian Democrats for cash is being mitigated by having the official appearances on the schedule.

The first ladyÂ’s office did not respond to a request for information about whether and how much of the trip will be paid for by the government. But with official events scheduled, itÂ’s very safe to assume that a chunk – perhaps most –  of the first ladyÂ’s travel aboard a specially equipped air force plane along with her security detail and entourage will be paid for by taxpayers.

Mrs. Obama today will hold a fundraising luncheon in Pasadena and a dinner in Los Angeles. Tomorrow, cash will pass hands at a breakfast in Oakland and a lunch in San Francisco.

TV crews will be BARRED from the fundraising events, which will instead be covered by a limited “pool” of print reporters.

TV crews will be permitted, however, into Mrs. Obama’s first official event today at 10:00 am PDT, an appearance with Hollywood types to promote her “Joining Forces” initiative to support military families. At 3:00 pm, she will tape an appearance on the iCarly children’s show, again to promote Joining Forces

Not only is she fundraising on our dime, she's using the military as props for her campaign ads.  I hate these people.

102 70  how long until they are mob with torches and pitchforks?

Posted by: Soothsayer at June 13, 2011 04:24 PM (G/zuv)

Well, given that the progressive agenda is actually one of REgression, not long at all.  They want us to go back to using trains for all of our transportation, so let's call that our baseline.  Trains were at the height of their popularity and usefulness and modes of mass transit in the mid- to late-nineteenth century.  Let's call it a draw and say the regressives want us to go back to 1875, just to make it nice and tidy.

They've gotten us to this point in the span of Obama's presidency to date, so a little over two years (the roots were planted well before the JEF hit the Oval Office, but it really shifted into high gear - no pun intended - since his Ascendancy).  That means:

Two years progression = 136 years regression

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein was published in 1818 in London.  Since Frankenstein is usually the first thing that springs to mind when one mentions mobs with torches and pitchforks, let's say that 1818 is the regressives' ultimate destination in terms of "tax the rich" propaganda and protest.

1875 - 1818 = 57 years

Using the "two years forward = 136 years back" formula...

136 years back = 2 years forward

68 years back = 1 year forward

...we can expect leftist mobs with torches and pitchforks to be appearing on the front pages of America's blogosphere in about a year, give or take a violent protest or two.

(I realize this is complete crap, but it's at least as valid as AGW science)

Sort of. In feudal societies the sovereign was fairly weak and relied upon the support of his vassals. They were the ones who provided the muscle to the crown. If he treated them well, they enforced his legitimacy. If he mistreated the nobility then they either ignored him or indirectly overthrew him by giving their support to some other noble with a claim to the throne. However, this all changed with gunpowder; at this point, the sovereign could hire a smaller professional army, arm them with firearms, and completely bypass the nobility. This is when the state began to accrue absolute power and that's what the left wants.

I believe that the left would be most interested in something like Imperial Russia: absolute power concentrated in a small number of elites that ostensibly seeks to improve society but in truth acts primarily to maintain power, a small aristocracy that is beholden to the ruler, an even smaller middle class that just tries to keep its head above water, and a large ignorant underclass working for subsistence and having no concept of independence. And all of the elites speaking French.

The American Revolution was a historical aberration.
