"Credible Threat" On Or Around 9/11 Announced
— Ace

Bret Baier just had sketchy details. The FBI is working on a bulletin for law enforcement. The threat concerns NYC and/or DC.

When asked if the threat was "specific," a source responded "Specific enough."

This is unrelated, but that small bit of news doesn't feel like a post, so here's something else: Harry Reid is forcing Republicans to attend Obama's vanity speech, by scheduling a vote immediately after, a threat to un-cut $500 billion that was already cut.

Republicans can't leave for the night with that vote scheduled for immediately after the speech. I guess they could still not attend the speech, though.

And you know Richard Trumka will be seated next to Michelle Obama, right?

10 This can't possibly come as a surprise to law enforcement; jihadi bastards LOVE anniversaries.

Of course, when you're busy doing important work like raiding guitar factories that aren't actually doing anything wrong, and solar panel factories that DID do something wrong and you are on a seek and destroy the evidence mission, minor details like it being the 10th anniversary of the worst terror attack on American soil probably slip your mind.

C'est Impossible!  E.J. Douchebag Dionne just told us all this a.m. that we just went through "The Lost Decade" and that AQ isn't a credible threat to us or any other country, for that matter.  (I guess he isn't sending any sympathy cards to the Indians that were attacked yesterday).

Seriously, I'm confused.  I thought that once the illegitimate, hot headed, illiterate Texan wingnut got out of office and he was replaced with a cooler, smarter, much more respected and beloved Nobel Peace Prize Winner, the war on terror was over.  Do you think that those same men in Afghanistan who don't know what happened here in America on 9/11 don't know that the SCOAMF is in the WH?

99 If you live in a Red state, or even many Blue states, just make sure you're making use of your CCW. Personally, I live in Massachusetts (damn it), have a CCW (shocking, I know, but many of us do), and will probably carry an extra spare mag or two for the duration. Other than that, and making sure you have plenty of 5.56 and 12 gauge buckshot at home, a "safe room" in the house, that the wife knows how to shoot and the little ones know how to reload mags, what else can you do? The union thugs and and flash mobs may be able to take whatever they like from the first floor of my house, but I would strongly discourage them from coming upstairs. AR-15s are really, really loud. And only the good guys are likely to be wearing the amplified hearing protection.

One thing about Americans... once they do loose their collective temper, things get done.

After 9/11 the world held its breath, waiting to see if we were really mad... and some of them behaved for a few years... then they saw our own Government and media trying to keep us overly calm...

The remember that this is the country who did such things as Sherman's march to the sea in the Civil War... and 1000 plane bomb runs on Dresden... and they remember that we are the only country who has ever used a Nuc in Anger....

Question is, do the Muzzies realize this about us??? And that attacking one of OUR schools would forment real anger?

Not that I've seen. We may have a legitimate shot this year.

151 Meanwhile, while that complete asshole former (thank God) Secretary Gates badmouths our best ally in the world... [www.ynetnews.com] Turkey: Warships will back next flotilla Turkish PM Erdogan announces Ankara's ships will escort aid vessels headed to Gaza. Jerusalem: Rhetoric concerning but will not impact Gaza blockade. Meanwhile, Ankara-Cairo ties get commercial boost in form of military, trade contracts and naval maneuvers Reuters Turkish warships will escort any Turkish aid vessels to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in an interview with Al-Jazeera television on Thursday. "Turkish warships, in the first place, are authorized to protect our ships that carry humanitarian aid to Gaza," Erdogan said in the interview. "From now on, we will not let these ships to be attacked by Israel, as what happened with the Freedom Flotilla." More on the Israel-Turkey diplomatic crisis Turkey: Israel not keeping to defense deals Barak on Turkey: This wave will pass 'Erdogan painted himself into a corner' PM: Israel will not apologize to Turkey Erdogan also said that Turkey has taken steps to "stop Israel from unilaterally exploiting natural resources from the eastern Mediterranean." Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor responded to the Turkish premier' statement by saying: "This is a statement well-worth not commenting on." Senior Jerusalem sources said Thursday night that Erdogan seems to have "lost his senses." Other sources stressed that the Turkish premier's threats will not affect the IDF's enforcement of the Gaza blockade. "Erdogan may face trouble from NATO and the US – they will not take kindly to his threats against Israel, which has excellent relations with NATO. "Israel is not dismissing Turkey's threats, but NATO is likely to disapprove of the fact that one of its members is conducting itself in such a problematic, menacing fashion," once source said. Another Jerusalem source noted that "it seems that Erdogan is adamant on dragging Israel into a public, diplomatic conflictÂ… We won't allow that to happen. There is no telling where the situation is going, but we hope this will all blow over." As for the Turkish PM's escalating rhetoric, the source said that "today, Turkey is very much a one-man state. There is no telling what his next move will be." Concerning rhetoric. Erdogan (Photo: Reuters) Jerusalem is trying to deploy covert diplomatic efforts vis-à-vis Ankara, in which the US and Europe are involved. House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) and 15 other American legislators has recently met with Turkey's ambassador to Washington, in an attempted to mediate between Ankara and Jerusalem. "We are constantly holding situation assessments. This is a new reality and we have to deal with it," a high-ranking political source told Ynet. New alliances Earlier Thursday, a military source told an Egyptian website that Turkey is expected to hold naval military maneuvers with Egypt in Turkey's territorial waters at the end of the year. Erdogan will visit Egypt next week as part of a regional tour and is expected to sign several trade and military agreements with Cairo. Turkey is a prominent member in NATO and "Egypt is determined to hold the maneuvers in spite of its current political climate," the source told the website. While in Egypt, Erdogan will meet with Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, Defense Minister Mohammed Hussein Tantawi and other top officials. According to Egyptian media, a mission of high-ranking Turkish officials will accompany Erdogan, including Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, Ankara's trade minister and several prominent businessmen. Meanwhile, a senior Israeli military official told the Associated Press that the IDF has deployed drones over the Israel-Egypt border. According to AP's source, the IAF deployed a special unit of unmanned surveillance aircraft along Israel's long border with Egypt as a terror-prevention measure, after terrorists infiltrated the border and killed eight Israelis in August. The drones are said to be monitoring both sides of the 150-mile border, though the aircrafts are keeping solely to Israeli airspace. Israel has grown increasingly concerned about the security situation in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula following the ouster of longtime Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in February. Gee, I wonder if Brian Williams is losing any sleep over this?

it's only 107 here today so she should be good....last week she ran in 112...but they turn the sprinklers on while the kids run the course so they keep fairly cool.....

I'm not sure if kids can use them, but I really like Endurolytes (Mg, K and Na capsules).  It would be well worth looking into for recovery from running in that kind of heat!

185 If the Islamozoids had the skills and smarts of the Norwegian gunman (or, conversely, if kooky-brilliant Scandi gunmen had the funding Islamists have), we'd be in deep shit.

Norway shoot-'em-up guy's show was pretty impressive, and about as well-put-on as one guy can do—but the story of his attack is no good for his cause.

The stories of analogous Muslim attacks (I won't say on what, because the idea's just too good) would work really well for the Muslims' cause. And they have the cash and characters available to do that sort of thing...everywhere. All the time. One a day, every day, in every country, for like a thousand years.

But they don't do it...for some reason. I mean, we're not stopping them. It's just not possible to stop that sort of thing. Yet it's not happening.

That seems weird and/or stupid to me, but I figure the guys in charge of Restoring The Caliphate can't be completely retarded—they went to Harvard and shit—so they must have made a reasoned (though possibly wrong) strategic decision. And that decision must have been that killing large numbers of semi-random American/British/etc. people has already won them all the Western support it can—or the right support.

All the implications of that are bad.

188 Like I said, Amos & Andy are trying to sell this house which has a front door and 4 inches later has a back door to the rear yard.

They keep saying its a peach and Kingfish wants a down payment that is 25%.

Now 25% sounds like a lot but today it would be chicken feed.

189 Muslims planning something big.

Democrat leadership insisting on all Republican legislators being gathered together in one spot.

Do the math.

I think you're over estimating them.  Remember that among the Muz, the egg heads aren't the ones who do the dying.  They're gutless.  It's the hopeless dunder heads who do the knife work.  Fatalistic unreasoning goons are not good planners, nor good at following directions.

It is the incompetence of the muz that has been our salvation so far.  And the fact that for most of them it's not really about winning.  It's about dying for Allah and getting their 72 virgins and catamites.  They need the infidel - if we're ever defeated, they will have no easy ticket to Muz heaven.  Their only real objective is to make our lives miserable while losing theirs for Allah.

196 I don't know why you guys are getting all excited about this. I'm sure some of the numerous moderate muslims we constantly hear about will turn-in all of their associates who wish to do us harm.

198 @84. I wonder how many Muzztards come here, enjoy a big mac and a cold beer, visit some titty bars, watch a little cable, catch a few concerts and go WTF, this place is great, my name is dave now, I'm moving to Peoria.

More than you will ever know.  Including some real bad-guys (who got here thanks to our own fucked- beyond- belief State Department). Beer, hot young American women, and porn were often the culpret.
