You could always buy a 12 gauge snap cap and return it if it doesn't fit. 12 gauge is about the size of your thumb, 20 gauge about the size of your index finger, and 410 is sometimes interchangeable with a .45 caliber bullet.
That leaves 28 gauge, which I think of as the Palin Steele Penile cartridge.

Measure the diameter of the muzzle. Also, if the shotgun is very old, it might have been made for blackpowder shells. Shooting a high brash shell in one of those things can be exciting. Don't ask how I know this. (If it's a pump or semi automatic, disregard this, of course).
10 gauges are not really rare. 8 gauges and 32 gauges are.

Already sat through this movie, The remake is just as idiotic. Being way removed from the physical presence of these shitsplats is comforting,too. I'm far too old to spend serious jail time now.

In the military, they have drills to teach you to obey a command without questioning it. It's a valuable and good thing, and our military also teaches initiative too, so don't interpret this as an insult to those in the military.
But this is the same thing. They want their followers to obey without thinking about it. Think what they are told to think and do what they are told to do.
Sometimes it's hard to figure out why I need a long gun. Then I realize that America's tradition of owning serious weapons is a check on the worst abuses. It feels like it could never happen here, but then I read my history.
