Debate Panel To Trump: You Shouldn't Moderate This
— Ace

Yeah, I know, "You're fired." I didn't do it because I'm better than that, man!!!

(crying whisper) I'm better than that. Aren't I? Aren't I?

Anyway I don't have details but FoxNews and Reuters report Trump is out as far as moderating. Trump says he reserves the right to still run for President as an Independent.

So there's that, at least.

I guess this means that everyone will be back in for the December 27th debate.

Yes.

If you're looking for "impartial" you'd have to find someone with no skin in the game.  Since America is a Super Power, and has incredible influence (one way or another) with virtually every country on the planet, you'll have a hard time finding one of those.

What you need is a moderator who will rise above his or her partiality, and will strive for professionalism and skepticism towards all the debaters.

I keep thinking if he hangs in there long enough maybe Santorum will lead in the polls. Or Perry. Or ABO 2012. It won't really matter until after the primaries or GOP Convention (which should draft Rubio).

If Trump does run I hope he sees how popular he isn't. Egos will reign in any GOP third party run. The country and running SCOAMF out of DC is what should matter to all in 2012.

114 How well must Perry do in Iowa to have a fighting chance?

No way to tell, really.  I'd like 3rd.  I do think it's too late for him to "take" either IA or NH, but a solid showing in both would greatly improve his chances in FL and SC.  Like the NASCAR race, if he can take 3rd for a while, it keeps him "in the hunt."  He would need to break into the top two in both of SC and FL, though (I'd think).  After that, if he's kept it close, Super Tuesday should go mostly in his favor.

115 How well must Perry do in Iowa to have a fighting chance?

Well, right now our goal is to get him through his 44-city tour of Iowa highway rest stops without him tripping over an ear of corn or challenging the gas station attendants to debates.

F*ck you.

I'm tired of this "no one else is voting for him" bull crap.

Not a vote has been cast. You can talk to me after a next-to-last finish in Iowa and New Hampshire, and then I might consider it. Until then, don't tell me not to back my candidate, to validate your decision not to vote for him.

--------

This! +100

Iowa and New Hampshire aren't even Red States. .....And we're letting them have this kind of power in picking our candidate?  This whole primary process is so fucked up.

Awww shit, you know what this means?  He's fucking gonna go third party now!!!

If he does that, the goodwill he has been trying to build up with the GOP is gone forever. And having watched Ross Perot implode, I can't help but think the Donald is not serious and it just making noise for attention.

129 Georgia Sens. Saxby Chambliss (R) and Johnny Isakson (R) have ruled out endorsing Gingrich or any other candidate in the primary. Both endorsed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in the 2008 race, but they wonÂ’t do the same for Gingrich, even though Chambliss served with Gingrich four years in the House and Isakson took over GingrichÂ’s congressional seat in 1999. 130 Well this is from today's PPP poll in Iowa- ****** Paul meanwhile has seen a big increase in his popularity from +14 (52/3 to +30 (61/31). There are a lot of parallels between Paul's strength in Iowa and Barack Obama's in 2008- he's doing well with new voters, young voters, and non-Republican voters: -59% of likely voters participated in the 2008 Republican caucus and they support Gingrich 26-18. But among the 41% of likely voters who are 'new' for 2012 Paul leads Gingrich 25-17 with Romney at 16%. Paul is doing a good job of bringing out folks who haven't done this before. -He's also very strong with young voters. Among likely caucus goers under 45 Paul is up 30-16 on Gingrich. With those over 45, Gingrich leads him 26-15 with Romney at 17%. -Among Republicans Gingrich leads Paul 25-17. But with voters who identify as Democrats or independents, 21% of the electorate in a year with no action on the Democratic side, Paul leads Gingrich 34-14 with Romney at 17%. Young voters, independents, and folks who haven't voted in caucuses before is an unusual coalition for a Republican candidate...the big question is whether these folks will really come out and vote...if they do, we could be in for a big upset. ******* Keep in mind PPP is democratic pollster that polls every other day it seems like and practically spams the averages-but everyone follows the polls- so it's sort of a self fulfilling prophecy-if they tell everyone whose ahead-everyone - Believes! Cute, no?

Anyway, I think Romney, Bachmann, and Perry all have a lot of travel in Iowa this month, so they can still beg off doing this because they're too busy.

It's kind of amazing to me that Newt has gotten the traction he has with what I understood to be a pretty light campaign schedule.  (Isn't that why his staffers jumped ship?)

141 I'm not lending a whole lot of credence to the Pew numbers - first, for obvious reasons.  Second, my guess is the self-identified Republicans describing as not likely to vote for Perry are making that call based on what has been spoon-fed to them, and not on what they actually know about the man.

Perry starts out on a 2 week bus tour tomorrow. ....That was his reason for declining to attend this Trump debate.

Didn't some staffers say that Newt had them working on selling his books? I thought that had something to do with it as well.

147 Sooo tired of dealing with your bull-shit Deety! *That's my Dad!* Who the fuck CARES if you were asked to "tweak" the data for 7 major New Jersey school districts so it would look better in MS Word a few years ago? Does it bother ANYONE that a random-ass person such as myself, has access to to this data and has been 4th party entailed to crunch the numbers? It fucking SHOULD, if you live in New Jersey. Just sayin... Damn, but your kids are dumb! There is a LOT of money to be made, in making NJ school kids participating in "After School" programs look like they are doing "better" on average... WTF, would you entail this, to a guy that you mostly view as a maid? Did you really think, that *I* would never figure this shit out? He's not my buddy, he's not my friend, anymore... What's to keep me from spilling all the raw data?

148 149 Is Huntsman still in? Why?

Huntsman spoke better (smarter not harder) than Newt in their little tête-à-têteI was pleasantly surprised and impressed with Huntsman's thoughts. His diplomatic experience given China as the rising world power tops his fiscally conservative gubernatorial successful experience. His points were smarter than Newt's, better delivered and more succinct without being boorish. So thank God Newt can't tout being anything but the biggest bag of shit.

In varying degrees I'd rather vote for any of the non-Newt/Mitt candidates than either N-ingrich or M-omney.

151 Trump will go 3rd party - I give it 60% chance.

Even though he was flirting with being in the republican primaries, he lost steam and people remembered what I joke he was.  Will that stop Trump's ego - no way.  He is arrogant enough to think that even he could not win the republican primaries he can win the general.  All he will do is generate enough publicity to get the moron vote and all those GOP cry babies who did not get their choice for the nomination.  Trump will pull enough votes (5-10%) that it will kill the deal for whoever we run against Obama.

Obama will win if Trump runs.
