I find it interesting they're being much bolder this cycle with such accusations than ever before. Had the same thought when Obama used the "Republicans are for pollution" words in a speech last week.

A couple of days later, LD cousin shows up at her parents' house sans car.  When asked where the car is, she tells them, "Florida".....

(They eventually found it, but I just can't imagine what must have been going through their heads)

I agree - which is why the definition of LD needs to be distinctly separated from MD.

Unfortunately, many MDs are allowed the same leeway - as will our daughter, who has Down syndrome.  She will probably be able to function semi-independently, but there are things that she will NEVER understand.  (And things that we will have to take care of BEFORE she turns 18 so that some well-meaning social worker doesn't abrogate our parental responsibilities).

I imagine the rape/murder/theft rates are going up because so much of our city's police forces have to babysit the Occupy "insert city" b.s., and can't be attending to the crime going on around those cities.  Yet the Obama White House supports of OWS.

I wonder if rape/murder/theft rates go up when Democrats enact weaker legislation for punishment for those crimes?  For removing the death penalty?  For shorter sentences and more comfy jails?

I wonder if more unborn babies die in proportion to Democrats getting elected, or if pro-abortion legislation leads to more or less rape?

I wonder if the basic social morales exhibited by the Tea Party as compared to the morales exhibited by the OWS crowd would lead to more or less rape/murder/theft.  Widespread theft and at least one rape has been reported in the short-lived OWS, and plenty of signs call for murder (Eat the Rich) and violence.  The Tea Party follows the law, gets the required permits, picks up their mess, and the events are incredibly devoid of crime.

To say the Tea Party or the Right in general are against strong police enforcement or fire protection is silly.  They believe the Federal government, however, should butt out of what is a government responsibility at the local level.  I don't want my tax dollars going to Flint, MI for their crime problems.  I left Brighton, MI, near Flint, and moved to Arizona, where I've chosen to raise my three children and where I'd like my hard-earned tax dollars spent. 

I am not a millionaire, but aspire to be.  To get there, both my wife and I worked hard in school, eaned some scholarships and worked while in school and after to pay off student loans as soon as possible.  We both pursued Master's Degrees.  We had a negative net worth.  We both interned for free and learned a lot, while working side jobs to buy our first tiny house.  We waited 10 years to have children, even when we wanted them.  I secured a decent job with an architecture firm after sending out a hundred or so resumes and taking 100's of hours putting together a solid portfolio of my 7 yrs of work in architecture school and internships, and my wife secured a job as a CFY speech pathologist.  Fifteen years later, we continue to work hard in all aspects of life...job, family, marriage, community, church.  My wife now manages all rehab at one of the largest children's hospitals in the nation, has written two textbooks in her field, and manages to be an amazing mother and wife.  I own two businesses, one in architecture and one investing in and  managing real estate.  I emply a whole bunch of people.  I own property that pays tens of thousands in local taxes to support the local schools.  My business' pay taxes every time I pay someone or buy something or make a profit.  Some years I make no money, some years I do very well and pay a lot in taxes.  My wife pays a lot in taxes.  We get no gain from the tens of thousands in property taxes my properties generate, as we choose to pay more to send our children to a school allowed to teach every subject our public schools teach plus have chapel, a bible class, and prayer in accordance with the religious belief system my wife and I have chosen for ourselve and our family.  My wife volunteers her time to work with the needy in her area of expertise and at church.  I volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and spent a month in Africa on my dime sleeping under a mosquito net in a room full of hungry rats and working at an orphanage, and my family funds a baby house in Malawi for children who lost their parents to HIV or malaria or were simply abandoned.  My kids volunteer at church and school and local food banks.  Three of my tenants are on Section 8 Housing, living in extremely nice remodeled 3 bedroom townhomes, rent paid in full by the government except for $15/month, which always takes a few phone calls to collect.  I ask each one of them how there are doing...if they have been looking for work...what type of work they would like to find, as I might be able to help them or know someone who could.  I let them know when my church is doing free car repair or flu shots or clothes or food give-a-ways.  None have lifted a finger to find a job.  None have taken me up on suggestions to help them find work.  They rarely even show up for the free stuff from work, as it's usually before noon and too early to get their lazy asses out of bed.  I stop by the townhomes to pick up the lousy $15 and their kids answer the door on weekdays when every responsible parent has their kids in school.  They talk not of their jobs or their families or their goals...they talk of their various case workers.  They are all in the position they are in because of the stupid, selfish, shitty decisions they have continued to make throughout their lives.  They may have had rough beginnings to life, but eventually their decisions were there own.

But they, and the Obama Admin, and the Dems/Progressives in general, and the Occupy Wall Street crowd in general, want more from me.  Not from my Section 8 tenants.  Not from those who dare call themselves public servants.  Not from the 40 or 50% who receive more in their tax "refund" than they ever paid in.  An apology to all Morons for the rant, but I'm done with it.  I am the 99%, but better than most of it.  There I said it.  I earned being the 80% or 85% or whatever I may be, and I feel nothing is owed to me for what I risked and earned.  But what I feel I owe the world will be decided by me, paid out carefully by me, with results checked by me, and anyone telling me otherwise or calling me a racist or pro-rape or non-patriotic or stupid can go fuck themselves.

Yeah there were no tents, there were 5 or 6 guys holding signs and about 50 people walking through westlake, which is norman this time of day. The cops also arrested a guy carrying a loaded rifle there today. The signs were classic "I need a lawyer" "we need food" it was a major fail.
