— Ace Because, why not.
Added [rdbrewer]: The latest Japanese and American robots under the fold.
A while back, I posted a comparison of Japanese robots and American robots. Since that continues to be a subject of great import, I have continued to monitor developments in the area. Here is the latest:
Japanese Robots
American Robot
America continues to fall behind in ass-bumping, acro, bachata, ballet, ballroom, baroque, belly, bhangra, bharatanatyam, break, Chicago style, country-western, cumbia, disco, erotic, folk, forró, hip-hop, jazz, kabuki, kathak, kathakali, krumping, kuchipudi, lap, manipuri, merengue, modern, mohiniyattam, odissi, Persian, salsa, sattriya, Scottish highland, sequence dancing, street dance, swing, tango, tap, and waltz. Also the swim, the alligator, the shimmy, and dirty dancing.
We must work to close the dance move gap.

So, what movies was Ginger Grant in?

So I was just yelled at in the middle of Walgreens for letting my kids read all the Father's Day card and pick their own. (My 3 & 5 year old can read).
She said I was a terrible parent for not 'censoring what they read, because some are vulgar!11!!!11'
I looked at her, looked at her son, and then turned to my kids and said, 'This lady failed to notice that 1) her son has his hands down his pants in the middle of a store; and 2) that you two, clearly not of school age yet, are able to read and pick out your own Father's Day card. She obviously thinks she knows better than I, yet it is very clear she doesn't'
My five year old said, 'Yeah. Bet she works for the gov't.'
I damn near pissed my pants when he said that.

Spoke at length with my friend (native Utahn although she's lived all over, LDS) about the debate. She liked Bachmann the best. She and her husband gave to Mitt last time, but she says they won't this time. He's too liberal for her, especially on the health care and AGW stuff. 'Sounds like she would be quite willing to go with someone else in the primary. Oh, and she really dislikes Huntsman. I have yet to meet someone here who likes Huntsman.

My mother was a queen of white trash cuisine, a skill she picked up as a teenage Navy bride in Long Beach. Her tuna casserole was noodles, Campbell's cream of mushroom soup, tuna and potato chips on top. (The peas were for creamed tuna on toast, which she elegantly made with Aunt Penny's White Sauce instead of cream of mushroom soup.)

A middle school in Massachusetts is under fire for requiring children to complete a graphic sex survey without parental knowledge or consent – that included questions about sexual partners and oral sex.
The Rutherford Institute, a civil liberties organization, filed a complaint with the U.S. Dept. of Education against the Fitchburg School Committee. They are representing the two middle-school aged daughters of Arlene Tessitore.
Mrs. Tessitore said her daughters, both students at Memorial Middle School, were told they had to complete a Youth Risk Behavior Study
....
“One of the questions is, ‘have you ever had oral sex,’” Whitehead said. “You’re talking about kids who probably don’t even know what oral sex is.”
He said the survey also delved into even more graphic language.
“It’s adult material,” he told Fox News Radio, noting that one question asked students what method they used to prevent pregnancy during their last sexual encounter.
“It goes down a whole list including birth control pills, condoms and one of the answers is ‘withdraw,’” Whitehead said. “Adults know what this is, but kids have to imagine or go online to find out what it means.”
Principal Fran Thomas told Fox News Radio that students were indeed given the survey – and admits it was graphic. But Thomas said the school has nothing to do with the content and they were required to administer the survey to fulfill a grant requirement.

Posted by: Y-not at June 15, 2011 03:22 PM (TFxd0)
To diminish the taste, I have set them in the freezer for 45 minutes, hoping that a frozen taste bud can be more easily fooled.
First, the Coors. GULP. My plan works I can barely taste this stuff--oh, wait, you can't taste it when it's NOT frozen.
Evaluation: It tastes not like beer. It has the consistency of some beers, but no flavor. It tastes more like really cold club soda than a beer.
Next, the FRANZIA (I pronounce it "Frawn zha" to squeeze every last drop of irony out of drinking cheap wine from a box ) This, unfortunately DOES taste like Chardonnay, Chardonnay with a horrible hangover. Drinking this reminds your mouth of how it felt every time it woke up after drinking too many stupid sweet drinks with names like "Harvey Wallbanger," "Fuzzy Navel," or "Sex in my Boot" (did I just make up a drink? Yay, me!) Penalty: I will forever more refer to this as Icky Square Wine, and I have one more reason to hate the French.
The verdict: Drink the beer if you don't want to be reminded that you're too poor to buy better--DAMN YOU OBAMA!--because it has no taste and if you could manage to drink about ten of them, you'd get pleasantly drunk without messy hospital stuff afterward. [Alternative Gambit A: (Which happens to the only Alternate Gambit)--steal ya' some tequila.] It doesn't have to be much--just don't share it. 3 or 4 shots of cheap tequila can turn your Coors Light evening into a memory (or a distinct lack of them, but that's what cell phone cameras are for) that will last the rest of your understandably short life. WARNING! WARNING! WARNING11! The Scientific Community has not learned enough about the effects of tequila to recommend its use for anything other than making white walls sparkle, cleaning (and cauterizing) pus-filled oozing sores, and breaking up with girls named Brandi.
But, in a pinch, the Alternative Gambit A and a six-pack of Coors Light could keep you from thinking about whatever you'd rather not think about for about 6 hours of consciousness and 8-9 hours of sleep/hangover But if you cared about hangovers, you wouldn't be drinking this shit and stealing tequila from your friends anyway! Loser, sheesh!

Coors Light on draft is slightly more palatable. Of the domestic light beers, I've actually grown to enjoy Michelob Ultra.
Next time you want a cheap, highly drinkable white (no, I'm taken) pick up a bottle of vinho verde (Portugese "green" wine; just very young wine). You'll have to go to your liquor store (probably)... or sometimes a place like Cost Plus World Market will have it. I've never seen it for over $8 and most of it runs $6.
