Drudge: OBAMA: SHUT IT DOWN
— Ace

Stray thought: We didn't have Drudge in 1995, did we? Oh, sure, he was posting weather and earthquake stuff. But no one really heard of him until 1998, the Lewinsky thing. (And when I say "no one really heard of him" I of course mean "I never heard of him.")

Drudge is big shakes. He drives storylines. The media fights him on this, but Drudge is a homepage for a lot of people.

And right now he's got Obama saying "SHUT IT DOWN."

4 Yes, Obama (pbuh) will own this, but I'll bet that the impetus was to make him sound decisive and strong.

Someone check Chrissie's leg for a tingle.

5 Drudge is probably the biggest driver of news on the internet. A lot of people I know - even liberals - have Drudge as their homepage. Matt Drudge is probably the most under appreciated person in the conservatism.

that he thinks he can control the narrative thanks to the supine butt thrusting M$M is rich.....

we'll own him the longer this goes.

All of us here have the duty to spread the word in our circles that Bury vetoed a clean bill to fun the troops for a week to let Sir Golfsalot finish his campaigning and get back to work.

9 Okay, this really isn't a joke.

Obama has proclaimed April 10-16 "National Volunteer Week".  Apparently, it was in the works for a while, but just happens to fall on the week of the government shutdown.  It amazes me that he continues to goof up like this.

Stray thought: We didn't have Drudge in 1995, did we?

This is largely unrelated, but that sentence got me thinking.  In 1995 I was fifteen and paid no attention to politics.  By 1996 I was furious that I couldn't vote for another two years.  I have no recollection of what spurred my tumble into political chatter, but at least I got there before the Thought Police in college could turn me into another drone.

24 I just saw the most bias segment of fucking news I have ever seen in my life on CNN while getting my haircut. Don Lemon interviewing some Republican congressman, literally showed a clip of a military wife crying about the budget shut down and how she wouldnt get paid, Lemon mentioned the "tea party" about 50 times, and basically asked the guy why are you doing this to this poor military wife. I about throw a fucking brick at the tv in the barber chair. These fuckers WANT to cut military funding as part of this shit. The Republican Congress and every Senator could vote just to fund the military, and Obama and his fuckall party would veto it, and his lying fucking press would then go out and blame Republicans. Fuck these people with the barbed cock of Satan.

Pretty much happened every time there was a snow day in D.C. this winter.  I do question the timing, though.  Guess who won't be sending out their tax refunds if the gubamint is shut down?  Those mofos will be hanging on to other people's money longer.  Kind of like when CA sent their taxpayers letters "Sorry, but we don't have your money, so you're going to have to wait a while before we can send it to you."

It gets better. I saw in the first column on the Drudge report that a  US general is now openly talking about US ground troops in Libya. Even as we're moving toward a situation where they won't get paid, obama is looking to expand the war in Libya. And they are openly ignoring the limitations of the UN resolution, brazenly talking about ground atack missions.

But this is why he thinks that he can crash the government and get away with it. he just started a war, then backed out of it, and people about him are talking about not only jumping back in, but expanding it. And he isn't being questioned on it.

Remember the "another grim milestone" stories that were run every time a US service member died?

Those have gone away as well.

Yeah, when GWB was pres., everytime a service member died, the MFM rang a bell.  Now there's silence.  There's also been no pictures of the flag draped coffins coming back to the AFB in DE.  Cindy Sheehag has fallen off the face of the earth.  It's a whole different scummy ball of wax now that the Jug Eared Mofo is Precedent.

To quote the PJ Tatler, "He'll be in Indianapolis, looking at transmissions."

And this thing, Mr. President, is what we refer to as a "transmission."

107 A commenter upthread got me to thinking.  This may be Dear Leader's green light to abandon Afghanistan and Iraq.  We've all know that the only reason they (the dems) haven't done so is because they don't want to be accused of losing another war.  This way they can withdraw the troops and blame it on the heartless, not-giving-an-inch stance the repubs are taking on the budget.

It's a fucking conspiracy!

116 Well, since it is illegal to not pay the president (hat tip to Gabe) how about the Secret Service detail to protect him?  Are they really an essential government service now that the World loves us and president wonderful?  And with teleconferencing being all the rage, why does he need Air Force One?  Come on Obama, go green.

I can hear the bootlickers in the MFM desperately trying to figure out a way to make this into Obama being magnanimous in the face of adversity.

124 I love the "Time's Up" article as it describes Planned Parenthood, "... which uses the taxpayer money to offer contraception and health care for women. Planned Parenthood is the nation's largest provider of abortion assistance." Yeah. They "assist" and provide health care as their primary services. LOL. As for, "It's an ideological battle," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. "It has nothing to do with the fiscal integrity of this country," I'm not sure how it has nothing to do with the fiscal integrity of the country. We are going broke. I think I can safely say that, even if all they did was hand out condoms, that PP is not a necessary service. I guess $1.3B really won't make any kind of dent at all, will it? Reid is right about one thing: everything he says is ideological. Everything is about power and spending more than they make. Daddy needs to take their debit card away...
