— Ace Then again, it's PPP, and it's one poll. I'd like to see someone else confirm this hard-to-believe finding, that Obama wins Texas (yeah) over Texas' governor.

Ok, Gov Perry has his issues with conservatives in Texas, BUT there is no way outside of Dallas and Austin that Obama has a chance. We have two high population Democrat outposts in Texas, and then a few border counties where votes are literally bought and paid for with Wik cards and food stamps and illegal alien voting ( just like in Illinois!).
This poll is crap. Texas is to the right of Perry actually.. almost the entire state. Basically, think about it... would you think Texans as a group prefer big-federal-government solutions and idicts?? Or.. may they be more the type to prefer let people alone to prosper or fail and handle their issues amongst themselves, ie, local politics? yeah.. that's what I thought.

Any info on the internals?
They don't publish those. They say (in bold and caps with no period at the end):
IF YOU HAVE BASIC METHODOLOGICAL QUESTIONS, [...] CONSULT THE FINAL PARAGRAPH OF THE PRESS RELEASE
That paragraph says:
PPP is a Democratic polling company, but polling expert Nate Silver of the New York Times found that its surveys in 2010 actually exhibited a slight bias toward Republican candidates.

Yeah, in 1988. Back when Perry was a Democrat (as nearly all Southern pols were then) and when Gore was running as, believe it or not, a conservative Democrat.
Perry switched to the GOP the next year, which means that he's been a Republican longer than Ronald Reagan, a onetime supporter of FDR, was at the time he was elected President.

McCain beats Obama in Texas by 12%
Perry is more popular in Texas than McCain.
I'm supposed to believe this poll why?
Posted by: Jollyroger at June 29, 2011 12:53 PM (NCw5u)
Just more propaganda from the increasingly panic-ed lefties. They are scared to death of Perry---just look at how fast the trolls appear with their propaganist bs on any Perry thread at any time, and not just this blog. They are adept at skewing polls to reflect their desired results and they seem to be doing alot of it lately. If this were Gallup or even Rasmussen or Zogby I might be concerned.
With all the fluff Huntsman was getting last week after he rolled out, I became convinced he is a left wing plant. Especially after being endorsed by Harry Reid.

I'm not buying it. PPP oversampled women 55/45, and the women they sampled HATED Perry to the tune of supporting Obama 52/39.
However, women went big for Perry last year. Something doesn't add up, and I'd be willing to bet that it's PPP's numbers.

Now we're suddenly supposed to believe that six months later, Perry couldn't beat Obama in his own redder-than-red home state? And that independents in Texas are evenly split after a midterm election that handed over state seats to Republicans that were held by Democrats for decades? The Republicans in the state legislature are one seat away from being able to pass constitutional amendments without a single Democrat, for Christ's sake.
This poll is absolute bullshit. PPP ought to be embarrassed to have published something so absolutely laughable.

In fact, I found this old Constitution laying around that no one is using. I'm not sure if it will run anymore but they knew how to build things back in those days so it is worth a try. The new Constitutions are all cheap Chinese crap like this;
不会制定 法律尊敬 宗教的创立或 者禁止因此自 由锻炼的国会; 或者删节言论自由, 或者新闻; 或者人 民的权利平和 聚集和诉请委屈 赔偿的政府。
Which translates to:
All offers subject to change without notice. In case of any dispute arbitration is agreed to based upon foreign law, Kennedy's lucky penny or the Code of Hammurabi as determined by a randomly chosen group of DC cocktail party attendants and hangers on. All decisions are final up to the point we change our minds, or unless decision is rendered on randomly determined "opposite days" when every word shall be deemed to have its opposite meaning (See Kelo 1.2.51, Commerce Clause 5.4.9 et al). Should a lucky winner not come forward a supplemental drawing will be held from amongst those entrants who correctly guessed Elena Kagan's sex and saddle size.
