Emmys Thread
— Ace

If you're watching.

Modern Family has won in every category it was nominated in (and it was nominated for most, except for lead actors in a comedy, because it apparently only has supporting actors).

3 Madmen is the only thing I watch unless they're going to emmy Fox News Sunday, reruns of Star Trek, Diners Drivethrus and Dives, or Deadliest Warriors. Yeah, I'm eclectic.

6 Actually it's Ty Burrell that makes Modern Family he should have been nominated for lead actor, he is the show.

I'm only watching because Margo Martindale (Justified) is nominated.  This is the first time in probably 15 years I have watched.  I remember now why I quit watching.  It's just painful.

9 Emmys tax so that they pay there fair share. Add up the wealth of everyone in that theater and it is equal to the wealth of Montana and Idaho. But they are not the rich ones. For some reason Obama will not be mention unless the is an attach at the right as the punchline.

11 Only thing I've read on the Gimme's is that Arrec Bardrin took himself out of a spot because Fox took out some joke he had about cellphone hacking.

16 Modern Family doesn't have their names put in for lead actors in a commedy because they believe they are all supporting actors in a true ensemble production.

It's a great show.

I hear Michael Vick is playing some other football team tonight.

20 If it has anything to do with the Demolibacademediatainment industry auto-fellating on live TV, I won't be watching.  Auto-cunningulating, maybe... in the interests of science.

21 One question.. Is Christina Hendricks naked?

Actually, we saw the movie "Drive" last night.  And, the credits at the beginning said Christina Hendricks, which I hadn't expected.

Well.. I hardly recognized her!

Anyway.. the movie starts out ok, but it unwinds into a pretty weird movie.. like the writers just ran out of steam.  Yuck.. save your money.. get it on DVD.

23 Hey, Modern Family is the funniest show on TV.  And the reason it only has "supporting actors" is because it's a true ensemble comedy--the stars only allow themselves to be nominated as supporting because they feel that none of them deserve to be listed as "lead."

It's easily the funniest show on TV.  Hands down.

25 I have a hard time understanding how anyone can find something so filled with commercials, of the explicit variety and not-so-subtle product placement to be of artistic merit. (I do admit to liking iPads and Toyotas, two of MF's biggest clients, but I don't want to watch advertisements for them if I can avoid it.)

Did MF win because it IS a gut busting hilarious 23 minutes of Television with great acting, writing, editing, and characters or because it portrays a gay family. We will never know...

Ace watches the Emmy awards. No wonder he wants to vote for the RINO candidate.

Seriously, you're watching this retarded shit? You're sadder than I thought.

30 Modern Family? Emmys?  TV? Homo erectus' iStoneAxe is more compelling. And more relevant to modern survival.

Next thing you know, they'll be doling out media awards or international peace prizes and acting like they matter, too. That's when you know we've gone down the rabbit hole.

32 I can't believe anything on television rates an award.  There is nothing on but a load of sh*t.  The NFL has even jacked around with football so much it's more like scripted "professional wrestling".  Ever notice some of the scripts?  John Elway deserves a Super Bowl ring before he retires......, The forever Favre retirement......, New Orleans (sat around the league for 50 years and never won anything) then Katrina hit and the NFL decides the city will rebuild around their team.  Then, boom, they win a Super Bowl.  The two cities hit on 9/11 ten years ago will host games and of course they will win, makes for good television.  Every half decent black NFL QB is bragged on ad nauseum by game hosts on every channel.  Because the NFL has to be soooooo p.c.  The latest?  Cam Newton.  Yes, he has played well, best of luck to him.  But it's been 2 games.  And his team lost both of them.  Have you noticed the Carolina Panter is black?  There was a time when the NFL considered having the Washington Redskins change the Redskins to something else cause they  may be offending some Native Americans.  But a new team can be the "black panthers" and nothing is said.  Back to you, Boom.  Hey, Boom, how about that Cam Newton?

33 I nominate Hollywood to see the real results of a Neutron Bomb. After all folks, if all the people were vaporized, we'd still have the Hollywood sign to gawk at when driving the deserted freeways of LA. Could be a beautifuk sight to behold.

Have you noticed the Carolina Panther is black?

Yeah. You'll never see those cats in the NHL.

35 Except for football, I quit watching the telly years ago.  Have never regretted it and wear it as a mark of pride.  Couldn't give less of a shit who wins what.  In fact I've never heard of these people and don't want to find out who they are.
