— Ace Since we're having the Chris Christie/Rand Paul fight, why not let Chris Christie and Rand Paul join in on the Chris Christie/Rand Paul fight?
Interesting, Christie makes an argument similar to the one that Chris just made: Casting his support of Bushian foreign policy as sticking by bedrock conservative principles, casting Rand Paul as the RINO squish.
I don't think the nomination will be won or lost on foreign policy, except if anyone attempts too extreme a position (Ron Paul isolationism or Bomb-Bomb-Iran John McCain Gonzo Interventionism), which almost certainly will not happen. Mostly I think people will just distort what the other guys are saying to make it sound Dumb and Dangerous without clearly articulating their own actual vision of foreign policy in a form specific enough to be critiqued (and lose votes).
So pretty much like they're doing now. The real war will not be over war but over government.
A black female Democrat calls the NAACP's response to the Rodeo Clown (he should be investigated by the Secret Service) "ridiculous," and, I can't believe this, is honest enough to say she (and all other liberals) loved seeing George Bush decapitated on Game of Thrones.
How quickly people can arrive at the truth when they're actually speaking the truth. Extraordinary.
Bono, who used to be a rock star until he began a new career of showing up at random places and giving speeches about grain yields, and the Economist, a magazine dedicated to the proposition that boringness is next to godliness, both acknowledge capitalism's potent power to raise people up from want and need to some kind of material satisfaction. I think, given the Economist's rather leftish bent, I'm more surprised they've come to this conclusion than I am that Bono has.
Dana Loesch recounts her home state of Missouri's troubling history of "Getting in the Faces" of Obama's critics.
And, from @rdbrewer4, Baby Polar Bear:

Update: FAKE! It's just a toy you can make with a pattern from Etsy.
And, lastly: A guy named Glenn Martin is not building flying cars, which makes him kind of a dick, but he is trying to make the next best thing: personal jetpacks.
Although he'd hoped for a civilian commercial model soon, they've decided to do a rescue/firefighter model, and then later try the commercial market.
It will set you back $100,000, probably, if it comes out at all.
But it will be worth it. Now look, you Morons, you have to imagine a person in the jetpack to get the full effect:

Like they can't hunt us now.
Seriously tho- that thing was NOISY. Do we need another noisy appliance to get around? And unless that thing is solar powered, it won't have much application- it won't be able to carry enough fuel plus other weight to be much use. Navy Firescout would be far better- larger, a bit quieter, and un-manned and able to carry something.
Drones will improve far faster than we'll make any 'jetpack' useful.

As I've stated on here before, the biggest issue facing Egypt was their economy- they are actually starving now; they cannot afford to pay their food bill as it is. They have had to take out IMF loans to get food shipments- and they will need more loans to get more shipments- and soon. And they have no 'functioning' government that any IMF entity will want to loan to.
So, soon, the food rationing will begin.
Then, the food riots.
This is where the MB will make hay- funding and feeding THEIR supporters; that organizing ability is what set them apart, sets others like them (see: Syria) apart from other groups- they are able to get basics and staples to people, who in turn support them just to survive.
No tourist is about to enter Egypt and expect to live long- not for a long, long time. They realize this- this is why the military is trying to 'shortcut' things and take on violence now, rather than draw it out, and TRY to stabilize things. Ain't gonna work.
By Christmas, we will start to see these problems surface there- NO tourists, families depending on foreign workers sending money home (see: Mexico) to feed themselves; problem will be, even if they have some small resources, those families won't have any food to buy.
It.just.won't.exist.

Heh... you know when I was walking all those years I would have sworn we had to walk 5 miles! It's funny to me how sense of distance for a kid ( just like time ) is so different. Once you get a bike, it changes, and then really when you get a car... and the difference in being the driver on road trip and being a kid as a passenger along for the ride..
I remember some of the trips we used to take and it seems like an eternity of license plate game, daydreaming, fighting with one another and exciting stops at Stucky's! heh

But the first is from 2006 in Brazil. A 737 and Embraer corporate jet. ATCs put them both at same altitude. The Embraer jet pilots somehow fail to notice their transponder has switched off and operating in radio dead zones so this persisted for 50 minutes thus disabling TCAS. But somehow the pilots of both planes, even though they are doing a head on, miss spotting each other. So the Embraer winglet slices off part of the 737 wing. The 737 crashes killing all aboard. How in all of blue Hades do the pilots miss a 737 growing larger in their windscreen?

I seriously don't give a single solitary shit what Crist-ie has to say.
I keep reading pieces about how Crist-ie is trying to "mend fences" with the right.
That fence isn't mendable. It was run over with a Mack truck, then cut up with a chainsaw, then fed through a wood chipper, then the chips burned, and the ashes salted with radioactive waste, and shot into deep space.
Seriously. A guy who gave Barack Obama a big adoring wet sloppy public rim job on the eve of one of the most important elections in the nation's history is not someone I'll ever back for anything. Ever. EVAR.
Crist-ie needs to just go ahead and make his party switch now.

At cruise there is very little to look and the closure rate mitigates ability to maneuver to avoid collision. I remember there were other issues with that incident... and they involved ATC, but don't remember the particulars.
The Weather Channel has morphed into Global Warming / hotcoldwetdry channel and disasters channel. Who needs to watch a weather channel anymore with everyone online now? They have a marginalized business model and I bet their viewership has been declining since the late 90's as more and more people got online.

The media are doing their absolutely classic Lucy-with-the-football routine.
Which is to say, they're putting out a steady and none too quiet drumbeat about how Crist-ie is the "only electable candidate with crossover appeal" for the GOP in 2016, and that everyone to his right is a rabidly mouth-frothing psychotic unelectable loon.
The media will cynically play this game of backing the most leftward of the GOP bloc right up until the primaries are over and their preferred candidate is the nominee. Then they'll turn on that nominee and savage him ruthlessly.
So between independents and moderates who are put off by the post-primary savaging by the media, and the conservative base being put off by a squishy RINO at the top of the ticket, it produces enough vote loss to ensure a Democratic win.
And just as with the classic Lucy-and-the-football, the Charlie Browns of the GOP fall for this same scam cycle after cycle and never learn. McQueeg '08, Romneybot '12, Crist-ie '16, all the same bullshit from the same source.

Anyway, although I had passed out cold the night before, which I had never done before or since, and was as pale as a corpse, the doc later told me I "did not appear sick enough to have salmonella" when he called me when lab results finally came in after delays due to...drumroll...anthrax in Floriduh. Had I vomited I would have been more impressive! Thanks! I later fired him for other reasons unrelated to this special time in my life. Fortunately I read that you either get better without antibiotic or it can become typhoid or something, which was wunderbar for my neurosis. For the first time in my life an antibiotic made a difference with first dose (Cipro). Anyway, Miss Cheryl, you should be improving with diet measures and if you are not I'd go to doc tomorrow. After all, in addition to being an aging supermodel I am also a nurse when not a train detective specializing in derailments.

Speaking of which, there was a post on WZ noting that for security reasons they'd basically closed down the downtown of the city the grifters are staying in. During peak tourist season, when they make the large majority of their money for the year.
So several small businesses may go under just because of the grifter family vacation.

In Beirut, where the Lebanese have this stuff down to a science, they put two guys on a powerful two-stroke dirt bike. Front guy drives. Rear guy is the gunner, with a small submachine gun stuffed in his jacket.
That combo can pop out of nowhere in an urban traffic jam, kill a target in an unarmored civilian car, and pop back into nowhere like you would not believe.
Not least because people hear the considerable noise of the two-stroke bike engine revving, which is a familiar annoyance, but one that doesn't cause alarm. And the small gun often is only barely audible if at all over the bark of the two-stroke.
There were apparently many cases where people stuck in traffic sat there honking, before they got out to go give a piece of their mind to the driver in the car that was holding them up. Only to realize that the poor guy was dead right there and they hadn't even noticed it happen right in front of them.

I lived as a bachelor for a looooong time, and during that time had to battle bouts of flu, one occasion of salmonella, sundry colds, the usual stuff. I learned to always have on hand enough to get myself through 3 or 4 days of not being able to go anywhere. Canned soup is the easiest. When I buy bread, I freeze it, and use the loaf that was already in the freezer next. Check the expiration dates of things like V8 juice, and buy stuff that is good for a year or more, the rotate new stuff in an old stuff out.
Mostly, for the period of a few days, it is only important that you keep your caloric intake up, and that it be with stuff that your system can handle.
I haven't read the entire thread, but if you're having digestive tract problems, then fluids is mighty important. Hope you get better soon

Liberals HATE it when we are happy.
Happy, happy, happy! (Duck Dynasty motto!)
As much as we are angered by what we see in Washington, and how disgusted we are by the cowards who refuse to defend us, we cannot go around in a constant state of anger and hatred. It isn't productive and it is bad for your health.
So, my suggestion is that everyone, even if only for a couple of hours, try to find something which takes your mind off this mess.
Clean a room, take a walk, fix a motor, plant a tree, learn a craft, learn to hunt, take up a musical instrument, whatever.
Any bit of positive you do will be a blow to TFG and his minions. It's how I keep going.
Also, go to church if you have been absent for a while. If you are not a church person, nevermind.

My dad was a champeen beer drinker. My mother was a tee-totaling Methodist who would have one rum and coke on New Year's Eve. Thanksgivings always had my Methodist non-drinking maternal grandparents and my paternalgrandad, an epic drinking Lutheran whose dad had owned a bar.
Although my mom didn't drink, she had her own ways of coping. I can remember us running around the house like banshees while my mother read a book.

I think when the RNC asks me for my support for Chris Quisling in '16, I'll just quote the candidate himself...
"I donÂ’t give a damn about Election Day. It doesnÂ’t matter a lick to me. If you think right now I give a damn about presidential politics, then you donÂ’t know me. I have no idea, nor am I the least bit concerned or interested. IÂ’ve got a job to do here... thatÂ’s much bigger than presidential politics and I could care less about any of that stuff."
Those are spliced together from two interviews on one day, 12/30/12.

It's appalling to me that that piece of shit essentially rescinded his endorsement of his own party's presidential candidate, and he still isn't being laughed out the door when his name and "presidential candidate" are used in the same sentence. No, he's currently considered the frontrunner. Just shows how utterly worthless the Republican party is as a political force.
