A Spaten Oktoberfest, two xanax and a shot of Woodford Reserve and I'm ready to face the rest of today's nightmare.

Good Anthem sung to start off the game.
Oh, and does anybody else remember the days when they used to actually show the T-day Parade instead of a couple of idiots jabbering through a 2 hour commercial?

When I'm in the airport and I see a man or woman in uniform, I always feel a strong urge to thank them for their service, but I am also really nervous about embarrassing them due to their humility.
What have your experiences been?

A thank you would be a nice change.

DO IT!
Grim is always miserably embarrassed because he knows many who are cooler, give up more, or whatever-- but later, when he has some time to sit and think, it makes him feel warm and good that someone said it to HIM. Really warm and good. So there you go. Seriously. Everyone likes to feel remembered and appreciated. Even if it makes you squirm at first, usually a warm glow lingers after.
Especially if hes far away from me. Its like God has touched them and said "I do not forget you." When a stranger is kind and says something loving to them.

I get the same feeling. One day I was at a local BBQ joint and a bunch of guys in uniform came in line behind me. I turned around, looked the soldier behind me in the eye and thanked him for his service. He smiled and replied, "It's my honor."
Now THAT'S what I'm talking about.

--My last trip two guys in fatigues were in the exit row (probably given them free by United --for all its faults United is good to our boys in uniform). I told the flight attendant to ask them if they wanted anything like a beer but they were both dead asleep.

I and most of my brothers and cousins served.
My son, and one nephew is serving.
I hate to see it go like this. Thank you, deeply and profoundly, for doing what others will not. Thank you for your sacrifice, even as so many for whom you are sacrificing are not only clueless, but unaware of your existence.
God Bless you, and bring you home safely.

And may the Demons in the Chow Hall not FUBAR your Turkey Day dinner too much.
Don't worry about LMFL and JMFL, JR.'s dinner though, I'm fixin' to hit the kitchen and start it up, and I promise to not let them leave 'til they have turkey, ham (in honor of our muzzie friends), stuffing, cheezy taters, veggies and anything else I can catch, kill and cook running out of their ears.
And in your honor, I nuked some frozen veggies and put some MRE Tabasco sauce on 'em for breakfast.
And to Teh Moron Horde and their friends and family who are serving or have served, Thank You for your service and Happy Tryptophan Coma to you all.
