— Ace Drudge is beating hell out of Obama. Probably most cutting is his photo selections lately. First the bike (with helmet), then the professorial supercilious sneer:

That should inch that personal favorability down some.
The WH wants you to know he'll attend a security briefing today. Not mentioned as prominently: Golf.
Aides said Obama would mix his official duties with rounds of golf, and activities with his family, but by lunch time he had not ventured off the property, which is surrounded by woodland and fields where cows graze.Obama aides said that Americans would not begrudge the president a few days of rest with his family.
Except the economy seems to be in crisis point. It is nearly like Bush taking a vacation during the Lehman Brothers implosion. And yes, the situation is moving that quickly and that badly.
For no very good reason, Michelle and the kids traveled by a separate plane, adding to costs.
I have a theory about why politically powerful liberals are so unashamed about lavish living on the taxpayer dime. To the extent they think about it at all (and most people don't actually question their good fortune, they just enjoy it without bothering themselves if it's fair or deserved), I think they believe that other rich people get their bounty due to greed and irrational structures, whereas those, like Obama or the jet-setting luxe socialist Dominique Strauss-Kahn, believe they are afforded these perks due a rational system of reward, so there's no guilt.
While other those in those notorious "corporate jets" have gotten their tickets due to unfair, undemocratic, greed-filled misallocations of wealth, liberals at the top of the academic/political/media pyramid have instead advanced in the democratic, rational, altruistic meritocratic systems in those pursuits.
So, no guilt. No shame. Unlike the typical "corporate jet" passenger, the Obamas have earned their seats, and "The People" have democratically chosen to splash these riches at their feet.
Someone on the Brett Baier panel, I think, predicted he'd cut his vacation short (and make a big deal about this -- I'm so patriotic I'm coming back to work two days early!!!). I think that's probably a good bet.
Below, "Schwalbe: The" linked this Drudge headline gif in the comments.

As do I. GW didn't take this much "vacation" in either of his terms (maybe combined, he did), and you can't say he had any less stress, really. The fact is that Barack Obama, who is a stuttering clusterf*ck of a miserable failure, does not want to do the work involved with being POTUS, but he wants all the adoration and perks that go with it.

If there is no post regarding rdbrewer's news item regarding comments made by Bruce Bartelett!! (former Treasury Undersecretary under the nefarious BUSH!), I would only say that Bruce Bartlett is a stuttering clusterfuck of a miserable failure.
Ya see, Barry Soetoro Hussein Obama Mellencamp may be viewed as a massive failure under some objective eye (like those Space Aliens that are going to off us all because of global warming/climate change/halitosis), from the viewpoint of Barry himself, Democrat loyalists and sycophants (~ 40% of the population that will vote for him come hell or high water in 2012), he's a clusterfuck of winning.
But Bartlett and Rove, they just fucking suck. Bitter little men who the world has passed by, and nobody has told them to get off the stage yet, because only idjits, nimrods and fools (Democrats!) are at all interested in what they have to say.
So the bottom line is either Bartlett and Rove want
1) Mitt Romney to be nominated (and run in the general election)
or
2) Barry Soetoro Hussein Obama Mellencamp to be re-elected
There is no third alternative. Really.

I think this is a "thumb my royal coke-stuffed nose" to the unwashed peasants of America trip. He does not care what we think. He also probably figures he is a one-time emperor and live it up, y'all! This is how he thinks: "Hey, Michelle, how can we spend more of the people's money? I know!!, it really ticked them off for you to go to Hawaii early on your big ole jet last Christmas, costing a few hundred thousand wampum...do that again! I'll come later with Bo on my big honkin' jet and Marine One and maybe the Beast." Bonus points for Barry: Dow crashes!! Yeehaw. "But first, I am gonna really let loose and pass me some executive effin' orders, man."
Here's hoping for dangerous lightning thunderstorms in Martha's Vineyard, with torrential downpours, as well as that nasty little brain-eating amoeba lurking in all waterways. (Sadly the amoebas would find things empty if they went up Bammy's royal nostril). Sharks. Mosquitoes the size of bats with dengue fever. Swarming midges like that lady Ace featured a week ago. Fetid mayo in the potato salad due to AC on fritz and bacteria in fridge. Salmonella fried chicken. E-coli burgers. Dysentery with the galloping trots.... a girl can dream.
Where the heck are the GOP leaders on his executive orders and why the heck are they not raising hell about them from wherever they are on their own dang vacations???

I have a theory that the Irish who lived as tenants for hundreds of years were incapable of independence when they arrived in the new world. Paradoxically, people who don't play golf (which is still most Americans) might not get why it's so bad that he's playing so much golf. After all, they might say, isn't a guy allowed to relax?
It's not because golf gives off an aristocratic vibe while working people are hurting. I don't care about symbolism. And it's not because he should always be working and should never play golf... that's too absolute.
But golf, unlike some other sporting activities like jogging or biking or even playing a set or two of tennis, takes a hell of a long time to play. Once you go to a course and take some practice swings and hit the putting green for a few minutes, a round of golf at most clubs is going to be a minimum of five hours. A beer afterwards might push that closer to six. Five or six hours times the number of rounds Obama's alleged to have played is something like 400-500 hours over the last three years. That's 10-12 full work weeks spent on the course!
Meanwhile, I assume he's working pretty hard as a default as President, which means that he doesn't spend much time with his children to begin with. If he has free time, he ought to be spending that time with his family, not playing golf.
I know in my own circumstances over the past decade, if I had told my wife after a long week of work that I was going to take off on Saturday and play golf for 5-6 hours with my friends and leave her to tend to the three kids... she'd have my ass in a sling!
What kind of guy chooses to use the very little amount of free time he has (or at least so I assume given he's President) playing golf rather than playing with his daughters or doing something with his wife?
I think we know the answer to that one. A narcissist like Obama.

NO what it is, is like if Bush HAD taken a vacation during Katrina'
except in this instance its' all OK cause the Lyin kING is on vacation while the white working folk are drowning and his favored race are getting their bennies just fine and dandy thankyou and don't even have to walk their fat asses to the bank or post office to recieve em.
Soon the only white folks with a job will be delivering pizzas, booze and lap dancers to the 48% OBama voters who keep getting their free stuff increased. Especially since the kING made sure they all have cell phones.

I don't think guilt really enters into it, except in the browbeating rhetoric of (other people's) (imaginary/projected) "privilege," but you've kind of got the basic thing there.
Kahn or Obama, for example, came up through a tightly controlled system with rigidly set procedures for advancement, clearly charted hurdles, a great long list of proprieties and boundaries, and tightly kept gates—both "in" and "out." They arrived as planned.
This is why their (and socialist-type-shit-in-general's) strongest supporters are the "professional" class—of every supposed ideology. Those people navigated through life the same (sort of) rigidly and externally controlled way, and having gained position thereby, have post hoc interest in justifying the controlled way as the One True way. That interest sometimes apes the rhetoric of "guilt," but...people lie all the time.
Contrast with someone like Palin (I sense U MAD; relax; she's an example), who came up the wrong way, shortcutted (however long the way) around the One True path. She went to the wrong school(s), picked the wrong time-to-have-kids, has the wrong voice, etc., and she achieved her prominence—and presumably pushed a proper worthy off of it—by a kind of messy half-bootstrappy half-random/irrational market-type acclimation. Like how George Strait sells about a bazillion times as many records as Lady Gaga does, no matter how many times the people are sternly instructed that he's a bad dumb cracka and she's a world-historical genius from the glorious plastic-pantsed future and shit.
Anyway, then, having accidented into that prominence, Palin (who's an example here) doesn't abide its strictures, whether through bullheadedness toward them or ignorance of them, because she doesn't owe them. So the-system-works! types, again of every supposed ideology, are all raged out at her all the time in an inchoate, flailing, ugly way that looks completely insane. But the reason, deep down, is because the system is their system (via investment), meant to enclose all, and anyone operating beyond its pale, or worse, refudiating it, is an unperson—because if she weren't, if the True isn't the One True, she refutes it.
Feel?
Bottom line: Liberals (and "RINOs" and such) are old-Tory-style aristocratic conservatives, in "their everyday lives" if not in their rhetoric. And that's "ironic," if you don't get how their policy preferences are also effectively aristocratic-conservative, all day every day, no matter what their fake-ass revolutionary shit-talk says.

"Obama aides said that Americans would not begrudge the president a few days of rest with his family."
They are fucking kidding me- right? Most people are spending more than a few days with their families because they are unemployed...or maybe not. Maybe they are working three jobs to make ends meet and barely see their family.
Perhaps if Obama took them out for the night to Chuckie Cheese. But golfing, yachting, biking and horseback riding in one of America's richest vacation spots?
All this from the guy who told us to hate rich bankers and avoid La Vegas.
