Frank Miller: Occupy Is A Pack Of Thieves, Louts, and Rapists
— Ace

Frank Miller doesn't like barbarians threatening civilization much.

EverybodyÂ’s been too damn polite about this nonsense:

The “Occupy” movement, whether displaying itself on Wall Street or in the streets of Oakland (which has, with unspeakable cowardice, embraced it) is anything but an exercise of our blessed First Amendment. “Occupy” is nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists, an unruly mob, fed by Woodstock-era nostalgia and putrid false righteousness. These clowns can do nothing but harm America.

“Occupy” is nothing short of a clumsy, poorly-expressed attempt at anarchy, to the extent that the “movement” – HAH! Some “movement”, except if the word “bowel” is attached - is anything more than an ugly fashion statement by a bunch of iPhone, iPad wielding spoiled brats who should stop getting in the way of working people and find jobs for themselves.

This is no popular uprising. This is garbage.

By the way, Occupy Portland is getting ready to riot. A protester tipped off police that other protesters were stockpiling stones, gathering boards with nails in them, and even digging a trench-line for a pitched fight.

Portland will be evicting them tonight, supposedly.

As one becomes an adult and takes on personal responsibility, one of the first lessons learned is the difference between a want and a need. This is a lesson that none of these regressive people have learned.

These lay-abouts, professional students, and welfare careerists aren't doing this for their needs. They are doing this for their childish fantasy-world wants.

They should fail and will fail because what they're doing is so far removed from being noble; it is a temper-tantrum. The only reason they can squat in parks and sit around for months banging on drums is because a) it is not an inconvenience in their already unproductive/noncontributing lives, and b) it is purely by choice rather than necessity.

21 At this point, I believe the #occupiers have forgotten why they actually started #occupying in the first place (i.e., those who actually ever had a clue). I think now, they're enjoying squatting with other like-minded lost souls, deriving a sense of importance (where they had none before) from standing up to "authority" and trying to fight of boredom by causing trouble. It's actually really sad watching their livestreams and reading the proceedings of their general assemblies. It's like little kids trying to play revolution as opposed to house. And the pathetic thing is they are all adults who are acting like delusional children. Even the lib politicians in Oakland (aside from their incredibly idiotic and feckless mayor) have gotten tired of them. They are selfish little toddlers (my apologies to actual toddlers) who want something and don't care that it's not theirs. Since they have shown they have no respect for others' property and want to persist in occupying private property or public places that don't belong just to them, someone should try to make a point by taking their smartphones and computers. Unfortunately, this will probably not work. It will be like one of Ace's most profound phrases: "A gallon of irony spilled and not one drop got on them" (paraphrased).

Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent. Rainfall amounts around a quarter of an inch. Tonight Rain. Lows around 40. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph shifting to the west 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Gusts to 30 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent. Rainfall amounts around a quarter of an inch. --- If the cops are clever, they will ignore the midnight deadline, and wait until 4 AM to roust them. Hard for hippies to stay alert for that long, especially when they are wet and miserable. Also, Occupy Portland was nice enough to set up next to police headquarters, so the cops can deploy out of the building without any warning...

The Right assumes the Left is strictly in sympathy with the OWS crowd. I am beginning to suspect I also see some pandering from the loons in charge.

It also fits with my translation of the Left when they pillory any political conflict or even a war. I believe they are just saying that if there's a fight, they are going to hide in the back room.

98 I was watching a livestream when one of the St.L occutards proposed occupying the police department. I think it was the same "lady" (I'm trying to be nice) who proposed occupying foreclosed houses as a way to protest foreclosures by banks. Foreclosures are unfortunate, but adults know that is what happens when you fail to fulfill your contract with the bank by not making your mortgage payment, regardless of the reason for the failure of payment or inability to pay. Just like when you don't make your car payment for a while, your car gets repo'ed. These people have no clue whatsoever regarding other people's property rights, but I bet you they're all up to speed on their own rights (real and imaginary).

100 I can't imagine the cops operating in the dark though, can you? Actually, the hippies initially blocked the road between the two blocks of their encampment - the cops rolled out of the adjacent police headquarters at 6 AM to clear the road, so yes the Portland cops can operate in the dark. The hippies also tried to take a square in a rich neighborhood, and the cops moved in at 2 AM. Technically, the reason for the midnight deadline is that it is illegal to be in a Portland park between midnight and 6 AM(I think), so the cops are on firmer legal ground if they do the rousting at night.

Miller didn't take Batman out of  'Holy Terror.' DC Comics owns the character and chickened out when it got too rough for them. Note that they didn't mind in the past when Miller did stuff at least as nasty from a left-wing approach.

I've never seen any indication of Miller feeling any regret for his depiction of Reagan or his ridiculous stance in the Martha Washington series. He is a perfect example of a liberal who got mugged by 9/11.

Another time DC got cold feet and killed a storyline was in Swamp Thing. Rick Veitch (who is a lunatic Truther these days) had an arc where the Swamp Thing was dislocated in time and trying to find his way back to the 'present' while getting pushed farther and farther back in history. One issue called for him to be present at the Crucifixion. In fact, since he manifested in plant life the idea was that he would actually be the crucifix and share in Jesus' suffering and helping fight off temptation. Some people got very worked up over this and DC killed it, causing Veitch to depart and a very clumsy reworking of the remaining portion of the storyline.

An interesting aspect of this is that this arc was designed to take advantage of various DC characters from past eras and DC had a character who was a Roman legionnaire present at the Crucifixion. This character, whose name escapes me, went back decades but somehow wasn't cause for controversy.

What in depth, comprehensive reporting from the stalwarts at the WS Journal...
"The Occupy group is a leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders and political persuasions, according to its website."

Gee whiz, you looked at a website? Get thee to the Pulitzer Committee posthaste! Or, you could take a look at the reality of the Occupy protests around the country. Filth, anti-semitism, drug abuse, disease, rape, even murders are occurring from coast to coast at these things, but you wouldn't know anything about that, would you? Go ahead, Winston-Salem, throw open your doors to these vile people and then act all surprised when they do vile things. Idiots.

202 Those who think Dark Knight Returns was Left need to go back and re-read it... or, I'm guessing, read it for the first time and not just listen to conventional wisdom.

Just because a comic mocks Saint Ronnie does not mean it is Left.

In DKR's case, the primary concern of the book was that there were no supervillains - corresponding to Murder, Inc. and the Mob - but that there were, instead, nihilistic urban gangs. The concern in the middle 1980s from those of us who lived in cities at the time, was "crime". "Crime" was overlooked in Democratic-run cities and actively encouraged by the local Democratic leadership, by which I mean Al Sharpton and his like. Up the chain of command, there's the leadership of the state --- oops, quite often, that was Democratic too. The buck eventually stops at the Oval Office.

DKR's critique of Reagan was that he was hampering Batman from doing his job. I don't know that Reagan did actively hamper crimefighting. However, as of, I suspect, 1984, Reagan had pretty much given up on that whole "decade of crime victims" and concentrated more on winning the Cold War.

In short: DKR's critique of Reagan was from the Right. We can argue that it was blinkered - that the cities are the locals' responsibility and not the Federal Government's. Maybe that's true in the case of New York. I can think of some other cities, though.

I think 55 Days at Peking is one of Heston's under-rated movies.

The opening as eash embassy band plays each nation's anthem and one Chinese asks the other what the noise means.  The other replies, "They all are saying the thing.  We want China."

The funnier part though, for me, is that those who aren't actually in the elite take the time to staunchly defend them, thinking that the elite might have their backs if it came down to it. 261 Yeah, I know a lot of the comments are push-backs against the narrative. I just wanted to get my thoughts out there. And I remember the Maxim list. You know, if you are trying to convince the masses about something, at least try to be subtle about it. Maybe they could have gone for the top 100 first ladies list. But Michelle being more attractive than many actresses and models on that list? Uhuh. At the risk of opening a can of worms, it's just like the Bialek woman's story of the crotch grabbing jujitsu move. If Cain had executed smoother or even just simpler moves in the story, she may have been a little more believable, IMO.

262 Overreaction will be a curse, if "rioting" occurs. Under reaction will be a curse, if "rioting" occurs. I can't really think of an alternative word for the great tradition of "rioting" that these pukes are usurping. When I think "rioting", I picture the stone-for-stone stuff that we saw in Egypt. I just don't think these girly-men have the heart for it. Anyhow, the police will be soundly condemned if any OWS-or-whatever peeps get hurt or killed. Also, the police will be soundly condemned if any property damage is tolerated or if injuries to non-combatants are sustained. If there was ever a case for really, really effective non-lethal weapons, pain rays etc., this is it. I don't want these fools to gain any martyrs or rallying cries, but I also want them to get a good caning in the public square. I would love to see them wincing under the whip if they burn a car or break a window or put a bruise on a policeman. But, it really is an impossible situation getting ready to get worse.

266 Well, exactly.  If the woman every demonstrated a pleasant demeanor and stopped seething with resentment, she would probably look different.  But, she's got major issues, some of them understandable.  My very favorite moment of the Soetoro presidency came right after the immaculation, when they were walking hand in hand down the street for the adoring crowds.  The SS told him to get in the car and he dropped her like a bad habit and left her in the middle of the street in her finest upholstery while he dove into the limo like the craven coward he is.  It was the high point of a very bad day for me.

Since I had to go to bed last night before the raid on the St. Louis Obamaville, I drove by Kiener Plaza after work today at 4 pm.

I am happy to announce that St. Louis is no longer under occupation. All the tents were removed. A few dispirited hippies were standing around, and a few more were down by the courthouse trying to make bail for the folks who chose to get arrested last night. The city power-washed the Plaza and started putting up Christmas decorations. It was a beautiful evening, with lots of normal folks walking around, and the horse-drawn carriages beginning their routes.

As someone who camps, I hold out a thread of hope that some of these dupes will go home, take a hot shower, and go to sleep in a bed, inside a safe climate-controlled structure where your every material need is taken care of, and be just a llittle bit grateful for the comforts western society provides. It might be their first time to feel gratitude. I know as much as I like to camp, I always appreciate the comfort of my house when I get home.

Certain days, when she is dolled up she is a solid 8, but than others days she's barely a 7.  Her looks swing pretty wildly, which is unusual.

She's in her mid thirties, so I'm sure she turned many heads back in her early 20s.  Her southern accent adds to the package.  Unfortunately for her, she's a divorced mom at this point and probably won't attain the level/ quality of man her looks could once easily attract.

Her fo'head is too big, and her face looks like someone stepped on it. I don't think she can help looking like she's scowling; like you said, it's her facial structure.

That being said, I think she is striking; I don't resent the media trying to convince me she's beautiful, because they probably do believe it.

However, I deeply resent them trying to convince me that she is stylish, because she has the absolute worst taste in clothes I have ever seen.

So I had a "get off my lawn" moment yesterday.  I was trying to decide if it was worth the six bucks to go see Tower Heist so I was looking for reviews.  The first one I pulled up made it sound "ok," but what struck me was how the reviewer was talking up Ben Stiller like he was some big star and then went on to comment about how nice it was to see Eddie Murphy, who was known for Doctor Doolittle, in a more serious role.  I almost fell off my chair.  Then I saw that the byline was from some college journalism student.  Egads.

I was insulted by their insistence that she was breath-takingly beautiful, moreso as an African myself. You just know they were doing it to also convince themselves that she was beautiful so they didn't feel racisty. Which made it more insulting to me as an actual African chick. Lots and lots of beautiful African women out there; Alek Wek isn't one of them. Sure, she looks very different from what you see everyday and I don't blame designers for wanting to capitalize on that. But still. I realize that some people may find her to be gorgeous, but I'm sure if we took a poll that guaranteed immunity, we would find those people to be few in number. Nothing wrong with not being the prettiest person in the world. Beauty is only skin deep.

426 You just know they were doing it to also convince themselves that she was beautiful so they didn't feel racisty.

I was being somewhat ironical In my family's genetics, I statistically have more time left than I've already lived, and things keep getting better.

The other week at work we were talking about who was President when we were born. The youngest one said George HW Bush. Almost had a "get off my lawn moment."

Shocked a kid on my team once when I said "Jane, you ignorant slut..." He had no idea about that reference.

This contradicts what some have said up-thread. Attitude shows through on your face and can be attractive or repellant.

There was an article in the Daily Mail recently about some celebrity froo-froo thingy that was attended by Sinead O'Connor and Deborah Harry. Despite her short hair, Ms O'Connor is quite pretty. Yesterday in St. Louis, the hippie line was "The First Amendment is our permit."

Well, yeah, it used to be. Then entitled freaks took advantage, and crime shot through the roof, and people started suing people left and right. They used to teach that idea as "the tragedy of the commons."

...and now cities require permits and insurance to protest, and we have curfews. Liberal actions have consequences. These guys were allowed to flout the law for 6 weeks with no consequences. I hope the authorities have learned the lesson for next year. This was only a rehearsal.

She said "oh," and just finished what she was doing.

I've been told by my work that they're sending me to Omaha for a short trip. I'm trying to convince them to let me drive. Let's see: get to the airport two hours early, park the car, ride the shuttle, get your boarding pass, stand in line to be felt up, then a scary uncomfortable 2-hour flight, then another hour to get off the plane, get your stuff, and get the rental car.

...or I could drive 6 and a half hours and rest when I want and have good tunes.

The 'wandering jew' origin is only one of several. They did an issue of Secret Origins about twenty years ago where the Phantom Stranger had four different origin stories, with the added suggestion that all and none of them were true.

And it wasn't Alpha Centurion. He was created about fifteen years after the Swamp Thing story in question and decades after the character first appeared.

I call bullshit. I bought those when they were published and read them repeatedly. Reagan is plainly depicted as similingly instigating WWIII. But then, in this universe the President can call on Superman, raising the question of why the Soviets were even allowed to get to that point.

IT was a great internal contradiction of the book that Miller liked the idea of an individual going vigilante but not a duly elected public official standing up to evil.

Also, look at the Martha Washington books Miller did not long after Dark Knight. Those took a very left wing approach to the issues of South and Central America. Remember that lefties in the 80s were convinced that the next Vietnam was going to be in Nicaragua.

604 I agree with his descriptions of the scum - apart from missing out the Harvard students and other well-off middle-class dead-beats - but this whole thing is being orchestrated from the top. It is being funded by Gerorge Sore-Ass via MoveOn.org and other subversives. His group, under cover of Peace Now and other fascist anti-Israel groups, financed the very first encampment which was in - Tel Aviv earlier this summer. This is pure Alinskyite manoeuvering on the part of the government. All the Democratic mayors and administrators down to teachers are supporting these vermin, I even saw a video of one head teacher taking a class of 16 yr olds to watch the Occupy Denver scum attack the blog con there.
I pray that America does not succumb, because you are our only hope!!
