— Ace At least he teased it in the last hour (now, 2pm Eastern). The Listen Live button at the top here is working, I think.
As Allah noted last night, when Gingrich's flack took a shot at those on the "cocktail circuit," he was implicitly calling out Rush too, since Rush was one of those critics being rebutted.
So this could be good.
Nothin'! No fireworks. Sorry, thought it would be good.

Ha! Rush tried to give Newt an "out" in not answering his questions, but he sounds pretty irritated at The Skink. Noot is spinning in the deep quicksand.

I remember when he had Huck on leading up to the 08 Super Tuesday. He had been blasting him all week and then Huck comes on and Rush is all "Let's uh, let's have you just clear the record." And then Huck spins, and Rush just says "Well thanks for coming on and clearing it up."
Sure, he resumed his attacks as soon as Huck's phone went *click* but it goes to show you: Rush doesn't attack his guests.

Rush is letting him off the hook. No one questions that he is against Obamacare.
The Issue is that he made a nasty, factually untrue attack on Ryan and his plan in order to score political points and handed the democrats a 2x4 with which to beat up people on our own side!

Ouch, that's going to leave a mark.
No shit. Neut acts like there's not a private-sector solution to ObamaCare. Someone needs to use the cluebat on him. What about tort reform, selling policies across state lines and creating high-risk pools as a start?
Neut acts as though he's never heard of any of those ideas. What a fucking idiot.

Rush can't face down Newt.
Ever since Newt launched his global warming shit of a bandwagon, there was no reason to give him ANY credence, ever.
But even if he suffered a mental breakdown, he'd demolish Joe Biden in debate.
Newt's problem is that despite his talents and experience, he forfeited his compass and admittedly or not, is struggling against himself.
I extended myself already today, listening to Obama. I'm not double dosing on poison to tune into Rush just to hear Newt's vain attempt to seduce an audience.

Rush is absolutely awful at these things. Totally unprepared to call Newt out on his many evasions and flip-flops. Now, after the break, he tees it up so that Newt can sound all private free market.
And this guy John Goodman that Newt keeps referring to must be sitting by his radio saying "Oh, I hope they all think he's talking about the fat guy in The Big Lebowski!"

If medical prices weren't inflated by the government/insurance price shell game, you could also easily pay.
In 1970, a computer cost 100,000+ of uninflated money. Now everyone carries one to three better ones in their bags to work.

Congress has actually been strong on Israel. The House has sent Obama several letters in which there were well over 300 signatories. I don't trust Cantor and some of the others much on some other issues, but they're sincere about Israel.

I am SO tired of hearing Newt talk "frankly" about how "fundamentally" he is going to "revolutionize" this or that.
Screw you, Newt. There are consequences to sitting on the couch w/ Nancy Pelosi and agreeing w libs on global warming, and on undercutting a brave young conservative like Paul Ryan w that "right wing social engineering" remark.
Those consequences are: We abandon you the way you've abandoned your principles.
Your books suck, too.

That's pretty much the only point he has, though. The rest always degenerates into blah, blah, blabbity freaking blah.
Newt misses a major fact of modern politics:
In war, the big gun does it's own damage. In politics, the big gun (a major statement, like "Food Stamp President") only does it's damage if you don't surround it with placating, boring double-speak.
Newt can't resist the placating double-speak. It's a problem he's always had. "Hey, I just punched you in the face, so let me clean you up, put your hat back on, and put my arm around you for the photo op. You can even throw an elbow if you want." The man doesn't play to win.
