Gingrich Up on Limbaugh
— Ace

At least he teased it in the last hour (now, 2pm Eastern). The Listen Live button at the top here is working, I think.

As Allah noted last night, when Gingrich's flack took a shot at those on the "cocktail circuit," he was implicitly calling out Rush too, since Rush was one of those critics being rebutted.

So this could be good.

Nothin'! No fireworks. Sorry, thought it would be good.

16 I think Rush has great respect for Newt from back when Newt was actually a conservative, not a squish (such a time did exist, long, long ago).  So he'll go easy on him, that's a given.  The thing with Newt is he's such a dimwit he'll end up putting his foot in his mouth even with someone giving him the soft pitch.

26 Dr. Bennett and Mark Levin were far harsher on him than Rush is right now. I understand why-- Rush is closer to Newt than the other two-- but he can't just let Newt slide on this.

Ha! Rush tried to give Newt an "out" in not answering his questions, but he sounds pretty irritated at The Skink. Noot is spinning in the deep quicksand.

It is interesting/ironic that Newt has been in Waterloo this week (Iowa).

Posted by: ChristyBlinky at May 19, 2011 10:15 AM (FnRYN)

28 Ok, so Rush says its the cell phone delay. Now, tossing back the mandate issue after letting Newt go on and on. Newt's saying its a process over a long time blah blah but not for a fed or state mandate. Can't force "universal mandate". Newt's walking it back furiously.

Posted by: JS at May 19, 2011 10:16 AM (BfHEl)

29 Rush doesn't attack his guests. Liberal callers, perhaps, but never his guests (he doesn't have liberal guests).

I remember when he had Huck on leading up to the 08 Super Tuesday. He had been blasting him all week and then Huck comes on and Rush is all "Let's uh, let's have you just clear the record." And then Huck spins, and Rush just says "Well thanks for coming on and clearing it up."

Sure, he resumed his attacks as soon as Huck's phone went *click* but it goes to show you: Rush doesn't attack his guests.

Ever since Newt launched his global warming shit of a bandwagon, there was no reason to give him ANY credence, ever.

Newt's problem is that despite his talents and experience, he forfeited his compass and admittedly or not, is struggling against himself.

I'm just happy to see the word "flack" used properly.

A flack does your PR work.

Flak is the stuff flung at low-flying aircraft, or adverse words thrown your way by a (usually) political opponent.

*sigh*

It's not easy being Proofreader to the World.

With Barky's condescension towards Israel, it follows that American Joo's will reject him for reelection?  Well, maybe ideology trumps the motherlands safety?

At long last, a President who is telling the Israelis to go to hell and push to establish a full Palestine state with all the rights that go along with it. This will p i s s off the Jews soooooo much and the screaming will be heard around the world. Watch the Flak that comes with this decision as the Jews show their true color and that is of being Israeli firsters and not Americans first

224 May I just say again: Get Real.  Do you really think that the feds are ever, ever, ever going to repeal the law mandating hospitals give care to folks without money? Posted by: FUBAR at May 19, 2011 02:53 PM (1fanL) Unfortunately, I agree with you. If I was walking past someone bleeding to death, I would do what I was able to to help. Most decent people would. People who wouldn't should and would be shunned (unless it makes a good YouTube video). Alas, we have legislated morality and mandated what I am "able" to do. Our society has no stomach to truly allow failure. We seek to deny the reality that sometime, despite best efforts, people will fail and sometimes, the consequence is death. We went from saying "better luck next time" to the kids who lost ball games, to taking them for pizza, to giving them trophies. No one is permitted to fail anymore and, as a consequence, true success and advancement will soon cease to exist.

Congress has actually been strong on Israel. The House has sent Obama several letters in which there were well over 300 signatories. I don't trust Cantor and some of the others much on some other issues, but they're sincere about Israel.

I am SO tired of hearing Newt talk "frankly" about how "fundamentally" he is going to "revolutionize" this or that.

Screw you, Newt.  There are consequences to sitting on the couch w/ Nancy Pelosi and agreeing w libs on global warming, and on undercutting a brave young conservative like Paul Ryan w that "right wing social engineering" remark.

Those consequences are:  We abandon you the way you've abandoned your principles.

Your books suck, too.

242 I tried to listen to Newt's explanation. Newt has a point: we shouldn't be like the Dems and force anything on the people.

That's pretty much the only point he has, though. The rest always degenerates into blah, blah, blabbity freaking blah.

Newt misses a major fact of modern politics:
In war, the big gun does it's own damage. In politics, the big gun (a major statement, like "Food Stamp President") only does it's damage if you don't surround it with placating, boring double-speak.

Newt can't resist the placating double-speak. It's a problem he's always had. "Hey, I just punched you in the face, so let me clean you up, put your hat back on, and put my arm around you for the photo op. You can even throw an elbow if you want." The man doesn't play to win.
