46 Perfect analysis of Obama, Democrats, and what is happening to our country, from Hotair: Q: What does Obama want? A: He wants a huge, and permanent, increase in the size of government. This is the “change” he campaigned on, but never really described. The goal was to make the US into a European-style “Social Democracy”. Q: Does he really think he can finance it indefinitely with huge deficits? A: Of course not. The plan was to corner the Republicans and force them to agree to huge tax increases in order to pay for it. So spending was raised first, and eventually the Republicans would face the choice of raising taxes or having the national debt spiral up to clearly unsustainable levels. "What Does Obama Want?" Q: Are Democrats in the House and Senate on board with this plan? A: Mostly they are. Q: Why haven’t they been honest about it? A: Because they know that the majority of American voters would object. They’re trying to sneak the program through, relying on the fact that once it’s in place it will create its own constituency. Q: Why haven’t the Democrats passed a budget for the last two years? A: Because if they did, the cat would be out of the bag. It would be impossible to hide their real agenda if it was all down in black-and-white. Q: And Obamacare is part of this? A: Yup. The real goal all along was “single payer”, but that wasn’t legislatively possible even in a D-majority congress. So the bill was set up so that private insurers would continue, but the terms which would be forced on them would make them “voluntarily” leave the market. With no insurers remaining, the Democrats would then “reluctantly” pass a single-payer system. Q: Is this something new? A: Hardly. It’s the continuation of a process that began with FDR, and made huge gains with LBJ’s “Great Society”. Reagan tried to reverse it but failed. (Also, Reagan had other things to worry about, like winning the Cold War.) Q: Is Obama going to win on this? A: Your time is up. Please insert another quarter. **************** OK, so there it is, in black and white and obviously TRUE. The only way to deal with these bastards is to not cooperate. You know what? LET the government default. Better now, while Americans still remember what life without socialism is like.

35-Woohoo!! What are you doing now?

Absolutely nothing that I can use my 35 years of manufacturing experience for. I'm currently a telemarketer, tho' not making cold calls, which helps immensely. We're just getting this department up and running, so in a way I draw a lot from general life experience and the way I'd want to be treated if I were on the other end of the phone.

My direct supervisor is a drumming buddy of mine from way back whom I'd lost touch with until about two years ago, and my big boss is a really nice younger fella, who's I think is a conservative, but it's way too soon to start that conversation with him. Discretion, valor, etc...

One of my coworkers is from my hometown, (which probably makes us related in some way) I've managed to replace her bass-playing hubby in more than one band in the past five years, but we're still good friends. Their oldest son, at age 14, is a fookin' monster guitar player that I've jammed with a lot. The kid's got potential.

All in all, I could've done worse. I really hope this works out as I don't need a whole lot of money to get my head above water and the hours suit me well. I can still gig and can work around what few conflicts there might be.

72 Barack, King of the Dims Act IV, Sc. III BARACK. Now, Empire, where's Boehnerius? EMPIRE OF JEFFRIUS. At supper. BARACK. At supper? Where? EMPIRE OF JEFFRIUS. Not where he eats, but where he is eaten. A certain convocation of politic worms are even at him. Your worm is your only emperor for diet. We fat all creatures else to fat us, and we fat ourselves for maggots. Your fat Barack and your lean beggar is but variable service - two dishes, but to one table. That's pragmatism in politics. BARACK. Alas, alas! EMPIRE OF JEFFRIUS. A man may plant an arugula that hath mulched on a Barack, and eat of the salad that hath grown from that arugula. BARACK. What dost thou mean by this? EMPIRE OF JEFFRIUS. Nothing but to show you how a Barack may go a progress through the guts of a beggar. BARACK. Where is Boehnerius? EMPIRE OF JEFFRIUS. In the Congressional men's room. Send thither to see. If your messenger find him not there, seek him in the women's room yourself. But indeed, if you find him not before the fourth of August, you shall nose him as you go up the stair, into the press room.

79 This is an excellent graphic.

But I can't really even process a skyscraper made of $100 bills.  This is the best effort I've ever seen, but it's still unfathomable.  If they cut it in half or doubled it, it would have the same impact on me because I can tell it's too much, but I can't really understand the point we are on the too-much-scale.

What I do know is we've growth this debt really fast since the democrats got the House back.  I know the debt compared to GDP actually went down from 2000-2006, but skyrocketed after.  From the low sixties to the 90s as a percentage of GDP.

It's a rapidly growing number that almost no one can really wrap their minds around, but it's a desperate situation.

80

Not bad.    But the fact is that the amount of national debt, even if it were reasonable, would still dwarf planes and buildings, etc., because we're a big country.   300 million people can handle a lot of debt.   The real problem is imagining the debt we have now, not as a gross debt that dwarfs the Empire State Building, but the debt per taxpayer that dwarfs what we owe on our cars, our college loans, our houses.

As everyone ought to know, the real taxpayers (the top 10% who pay more than 70% of the income taxes) are the people who really "owe" the national debt, just like it's me who owes money we've committed to pay for my son's Catholic boys high school, not my son (who doesn't have any income).   Those top 10% (and that's just of the 140 million or so filers) are the real "debtors" who will have to pay the vig eventually.   So there are about 14 million of us who are going to have to pay off the $14 trillion in national debt.   Now we're talking.... that's about $1 million per taxpayer in that upper income group!

Put it that way and it really does sound scary big.
