— Ace Jay Carney laughs at reporters for chasing the big stories, like whether Prince Valium bothered to issue a statement on the holiest day on the Christian calendar.
He didn't, but Carney reassures us that his outing to church was "high profile" (i.e., telegraphed to the media as a photo op), so that should cover it.
Of course, Obama is fairly devout about issuing statements on religious holidays -- he's managed to commemorate all major Muslim holidays, for example. So shut up, Wingnuts.
Besides, his 2010 "Easter" statement seemed to go out of its way to be a non-Easter statement...
In 2010, Obama was criticized for releasing an all-inclusive Easter greeting. He reached out to Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and people of no faith at all in a statement about a holiday that is uniquely Christian.
... so maybe it's just as well he didn't bother.
Thanks to Drudge. It's like he's almost trying to lose it at this point, or maybe it's that he's finding the charade tedious and figures he can dispense with the pretense.
Filet O Fish Determined To Be Empty Calories: Useful Useless Idiot Oliver Willis continues earning 10% of the money Media Matters is paying him.

Last week, Rush played a statement Obama made about the importance of the resurrection and I received the distinct impression that Obama doesn't quite understand it.
OBAMA: I wanted to host this breakfast for a simple reason. Because, as busy as we are, as many tasks as pile up, during this season we are reminded that there's something about the Resurrection, something about the Resurrection of our savior, Jesus Christ, that puts everything else in perspective.
So what would that something be? Does he even care?

He's not a Muslim - Obama's true faith is much older than Islam, you might say that it's the second oldest religion; Obama worships Himself. Every time I have the misfortune of seeing Obama's mug on the TV, that scene with Al Pacino in The Devil's Advocate where he explains to Keanu Reeves' character that "vanity is my (Satan's) favorite sin" pops into mind.
Like most leftists, Obama has no compunction about using religion (Islam in this case) to further his own goals and agendas, but he is nonreligious from a traditional standpoint.

OT, but I can't recall if this has been discussed here before and I know it will be of interest to the M&Ms.
"The U.S. Dept of State is proposing a new Biographical Questionnaire for passport applicants: proposed new Form DS-5513 asks for all addresses since birth; lifetime employment history, personal details of siblings; mother's addresses prior to your birth; any "religious ceremony" around time of birth, circumstances of birth including names (as well as addresses/phone numbers) of persons present, & more. Failure to answer can mean denial of passport, & govt reserves right to use this info for 'routine uses.'"
Cory Doctorow at BoingBoing adds, "Commenters note that this form is specifically intended in lieu of a birth certificate with a passport application; but as the FA suggests, the circumstances in which people unable to provide a birth certificate will be given this form (rather than the traditional bureaucratic investigation) are not spelled out; further, the form itself remains a Kafkaesque impossibility for most people to complete."
I'm hard-pressed to remember the name of the local convenience store I worked at back in high school, let alone the address and name of my supervisor.
The public can submit comments in response to this proposal through the end of today (April 25, 2011), so I highly recommend doing so.
H/T Weasel Zippers and BoingBoing:
PS - Also, I'd like to point out the obvious: an American without a birth certificate would, theoretically, have to go through all this malarkey in order to get a passport to travel somewhere as innocuous as Canada... but our Exalted Leader doesn't have to present a birth certificate to prove his bonafides to push the Big Red Button and start a nuclear holocaust.
Just saying.

Like everything else, King Barry considers religion as a political tool.
One gets called "racist" if one says he's a Muslim. I think it's accurate to simply say that he was "raised as a Muslim" (a fact they seem desperate to ignore). As to his Christianity, I don't pretend to be a mind-reader, but don't expect you can be much of a Christian if you begin your description of Jesus with the term "historical figure".
If he seems antagonistic toward most of Christianity, that may mostly be his antagonism toward the "evil" Western civilization's colonial past (and, according to him, present), which brought Christianity along with it, coming out. Marxists, tend to be anti-religion anyway, but seem to give Islam a "pass" these days for it being an "enemy of my enemy".

Pope John Paul II nailed the Qur'an for constraining the Almighty God/Allah to have nothing to do with the Earth and all creation, for absolutely denying "God With Us".
So far as the antichrist is concerned, of course any relationship with God/Allah would be strictly forbidden. Since Truth would set free the bonds of spiritual death, the Deceiver tolerates no Truth except it be perniciously twisted for marketing. Revisionism.
"In God We Trust" does not translate into "God Obeys Me".
There is one God with one Law, to Love God so completely that we love God's creation.
Matthew 22
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Matthew 5
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. 17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

I'd say so, with Smith (he doesn't deserve the title of "Pastor" IMHO, given his blatant race-baiting) talking about the need for "justice" (i.e. revenge for perceived wrongs). Interesting how he links Rush to the modern day, "politer" Klan while failing to mention the many Democrats such as Robert Byrd that were actual Klan members.
This liberation theology virus needs to be cleansed from churches such as Smith's and Wright's. They are doing their people and Christianity in general a great disservice.

Unfortunately, there are way too many "Christians" today who would use that same terminology when talking about Jesus.
I find it more than a bit disconcerting that while Christians and Jews are asked to "tone down" their messages here, Islamists are given full berth to speak freely about committing Jihad (i.e. "liberating Palestine") and even supporting terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.

so, yeah, Obama went to church, yesterday on Easter Sunday.
And he listened to his pastor compare Rush Limbaugh to the KKK.
Wow.

Its funny how they have all this pushback to not say even Easter Eggs. But they're not even Christian in origin. Hell even the word Easter is likely a Pagan originated word.

104 I can barely be civil to the wife when she asks how our son is doing. Bush was a war-mongering retarded criminal, but Barky is our wise, all-knowing leader who just involved us in another war.
The really preverse thing about this is that King Barry, as with his most recent Democrat predecessor, only feels justified in putting our military in harms way if two conditions are met: 1 ) That the US has NO vital interest. 2 ) That they are at least nominally under the command of foreigners.
In the case of Libya, our guys are suffering both insults, with the primary and endless goal of sparing King Barry from potentially being embarrassed by some bad TV (images of supposed mass genocide, that we would allegedly be responsible for, despite not being involved whatsoever).
People join our military with the idea of serving our country, for the sake of our country - not serving some other country, for some third country. This kind of crap undermines our military. Your wife doesn't have any problem with people like her son having their lives put at risk for the benefit of people who are - at best - not even allies of the US?
It's like that video (embedded link) Dr. Sanity posted about Libya last month (I hope everybody has seen it). It has this blonde character who keeps saying "Obama is awesome" and "Bush is stupid" for a long series of relevant items where the two did exactly the same thing. How do these people get so brainwashed?

When you're a muslim, you cannot acknowledge Jesus. Obambo, being a muslim, believes, as Muhammed did, that Jesus, who was only a prophet to the heathens, would never have been allowed to suffer and die.
Jesus is not a muslim profitÂ… There is no progression after JesusÂ…
Those who believe in Progression of Belief which uses mohammad to trump Jesus and by default Jews as well are the people subverting America
Universalism that INCLUDES islam is false.. Because it is based on a historical lie..
Moses is not a muslim profit
Ishmael is a JewÂ…

I never liked the modern use of the term "radical", as if it were inherently bad.
Washingtom, Franklin, Jefferson, Adams, Hancock, Revere, ... radicals all!
I'm all for Republicans being radicalized, if it means emulating those great men, and emulating them is becoming almost as "radical" today as it was then.
How 'bout we rally against what we're actually against, instead of talking around it with words like "radical". Part of the problem is that most people have been taught that religion is inherently good, and so when you have a religion with as much inherent evil as Islam a contradiction arises, and "talking around" ensues. A "radical" Muslim is simply one who takes some crazy, but basic and explicit, tenents of his faith seriously.
"Radical" only means that something is outside the norm. It can be outstandingly good, or outstandingly evil.

I think there is nothing Dear Leader can do to lose the black vote (unless he comes out of the closet and/or the BC has something not so African for race. Even then, it is due to white folks messing up their perfect savior of slavery).
With the MSM still having his back--and nothing will change that, either, although some are tired of the hopenchange and promises not kept--he is still farting perfume while walking on rainbows.

Really? Can she pick clothes that are any more unflattering? I notice that Barry is in his usual pigeon-toed stance. Note, too, the natural shine of her wig-hat. While gas prices creeps up, our Community Organism in Chief is playing with the Easter bunny. So, how much did this gala affair cost the taxpayer?
