When no one (male or female) is expected to live up to any sort of standards, civilization inevitably declines, rather rapidly.

Very nice! As a guitar and saxophone player, I've always argued that the human voice is the most beautiful musical instrument. I wish I possessed that talent!

I usually do a filet of tenderloin on New Years eve. But I am living in exile and alone away from the family this time around. In Texas. I'm not knocking Texas with the exile stuff, in fact I see a good possibility that in 2012 (Damn...just got used to writing 2011) the family will be joining me down here. Hope we don't tip Texas over.
So since it is just me here I am making my grandmother's old Senate bean soup recipe with a loaf of crusty Italian bread. It's one of those recipes where I had to google things like hock or shank to figure out what to buy. This recipe is better than the real Senate bean soup served in DC.
Here's why:
The ingredients of this bean soup were actually bought and prepared within an actual budget. Mine. The soup goes well with my bread instead of trying to take all my bread. In this recipe only the beans get soaked not the taxpayers.
And since my New Years resolution that I made twelve years ago is to never make resolutions, I've got bacon, smokes, coffee, beer, Value-Rite, porn, hookers and lurking here to get me past my resolution cravings.
Have a great night all!

For the last month I have been getting 10-20 calls per day in support of the various political campaigns.
Today being NYE there were only five or so, but I thought this was interesting:
Two of them were Ron Paul calls, paid by his campaign, taking shots at Rick Santorum.
Paul's campaign was polling support earlier last week, who was your first choice, who was your second, that sort of thing, always saying the poll was paid for by the Ron Paul campaign. Now this.
What if Ron Paul comes in third place in Iowa after being the prohibitive favorite for weeks? That's a very bad outcome for him, if it happens.
