That's the only part I wanted to quote, because it's stupid as fuck. She has the gift, she does. Pulitzerer.
When you've harangued and fussed about all these unlawful acts and crimes against the world, things get complicaty. You tried as might, to tell your boyfriend to stop fussing over his ears, "we're trying to toughen you up."
He kind of resisted the advice.
Make shit up and pretend it's intelligent.
Make words Maureen, to the significantly smaller readership.

"W. preferred to sulk in his Dallas tent rather than join President Obama at ground zero in a duet that would have certainly united the country."
YEAH RIGHT - if W had gone, the left would have gone crazy that "he's trying to steal credit for Obama's work!!!!" And, of course, since he didn't go, the left went crazy that "he snubbed Obama!!!!"
Nothing could happen at this moment that would "unite the country". Nothing. Not even another 9/11. Just look at how the left behaved after Katrina - which wasn't 9/11, but still heart-wrenching enough. They couldn't wait to blame it all on BOOOOOSH. Bottom line, the left thinks we're stupid and evil, and there is nothing we can do to redeem ourselves in their eyes.

I enjoy the humor. First example:
"Their attempt to renew the debate about torture is itself torture."
So, basically, she's unwittingly admitting defeat on that one. Which I think is funny. Then there's:
"W. preferred to sulk in his Dallas tent ..."
Yeah, sure, honey. He was sulking. In a tent. Now that's funny. Last:
"the cache of schemes ... debunked the fanciful narrative that the Bush crew pushed ..."
This one's only funny if you like the kind of humor where people say stuff that's just obviously outrageously stupid. It's for the "Dumb and Dumber" fans. Yeah, the "Bush crew" simply made that stuff up. It didn't come from, oh, I dunno, the intelligence at the time.

The CogDiss is strong with this one.
So, Obama is so weak that he can't unite the country on his own.
But Bush, apparently the uniting figure in this melodrama is a weak, pouting sissy.
He personally attacked Bush in general and these very policies in particular and is known for bashing people in his presence, but Bush, the great dunce is foolish for not noticing this trait.
Frankly, Bush should have publicly suggested Dick Cheney take his place.

The funniest part is how they declare that Obama is showing a new kind of swagger in that photo - by not showing swagger. That is, by slumping in the corner in the lowest chair wearing his golfing clothes. Sitting to the side like a grumpy child not allowed at the Big People table is the new macho!

We should close two weeks from last Thursday (assuming one last inspection step goes ok), but we'll probably spend a month or so getting the place ready before moving in. We have this place for a couple of months (although we're hoping our landlord will let us out of our lease a month early) and it would be nice to get the painting and various small projects done before cluttering the place up with boxes.
'Hope we can save a little money by doing some of the moving ourselves although we'll definitely hire pros for the big stuff. But it occurred to me that gas prices being what they are, we'd probably do better renting a small truck rather than shuttling things back and forth with the Jeep. The new place is about 20 miles from here.

They sure are appealing - and would be cat-proof (one of my cat loves to eat the strings from blinds) - but I wondered about how much of a pain they are to install and also about if you find yourself never opening them up for an unobstructed view.
We had Silhouettes in the CA house, which love because of the light filtering. But they aren't so great if you want a breeze and still some degree of privacy.

I am sure there was lost opportunity for a good laugh but I was completely alone when it happened. I was on the roof of a 3 story building, using a step ladder to access the "Pidgen coop" over the elevator shaft. Why you ask? I was patching the roof. The ladder went out from under me and I landed flat on my back but don't worry my skull broke my fall by dragging at a 45 degree angle down the wall of the elevator cover. Tar exploded up my arm and across the roof. I layed there dazed for a moment thinking laying there was preferable to getting up to quickly and staggering or slipping in wet tar off the roof. I must admit I am moving a little slower today. I skipped flying this morning because I wasn't at my best. I did us my tractor to get some work done. Moving actually makes it feel better. Looking down at my keyboard for an extended time hurts though so I won't be hanging out long tonight.

There is one difference between the Carter Administration and the Obama administration that I haven't seen mentioned yet: The MSM hadn't tied themselves into knots supporting Carter as they have done supporting Obama.
I would call ordering the death of Bin Laden when given the opportunity the minimum standard when evaluating the competency of any White House administration.

Saddled with an elitist education and crushing rent payments, Modo was forced to pretend on paper what she could not affect in real life. So bitter the cost ... so dark the outcome ... what modern metrosexual can keep a dry eye over her sordid plight?
Our empathy, as much as we can muster, forces us to feel her pain, the pain of a ghostly existence from which only gripe and moan can escape the pit of meaninglessness.
Like a gentle wind, this great elitist will pass from us but only after creating a river of carp and curmudgeonry, the only begotten of tremulous angst disguised as meaning. Will there be room on her tombstone, amid the black orchids, for them to write "Here lies Pulitzer, a worm's feat"? I like to think Shakespeare would approve. Sound and fury has become the low sigh of gas escaping from the grave.

The best comment (as in stupidest) is the repeat of the one line from an old presidential briefing "bin Laden determined to attack the US". The commenter than says "and Bush did nothing with this information" of course they never say what he supposed to do. Preemptively attack based on one line in a document of a dozen pages? Do you think these same liberal would be supportive of Bush if he invaded Afghanistan based on this intelligence?
Then he goes onto say about the flawed intelligence in Iraq which was in copious quantities compared to the one line mentioned above. But that was NOT enough information to attack Iraq.
Liberals have to be insane to keep their policy contradictions straight and have them appear logical.

"Unlike the president and the Navy Seals, who performed with steely finesse, . . . . "
Those twelve words right there made me want to punch a woman square in the face - for the first time in my whole life.
"Steely finesse?" is that what Glowbama called the iron he was swinging when they hauled his useless butt off the golf course to be play Presentdent in that stupid "live" time photo-op?
"Steely finesse?" Yep, just like those Navy Seals fire-fightin' their way in to whack Osama Lead Laden thousands of miles away in the hostile territory of our close ally and friend Packitinthebuttstan
Yeah. OK. Right. What I see in the picture is Glowbama sitting off to the side pouting like a kid who dropped his sucker in the dirt.
My God. I knew we had a "gutsy" leader, but he has steely finesse too?
steely > adjective 1 . . . 2 coldly determined; severe.
finesse > verb 1 . . . 2 slyly attempt to avoid blame when dealing with (a situation).
Wait one cotton-pickin' minute . . . Maybe ol' Mo is on to something here.
I could believe that Glowbama is "coldly determined" to "slyly attempt to avoid blame" in just about anything he does.
