They have access to a target market and they know what the other kids like. They also have access to free marketing on the internets. We've come a long way from the days of the lemonade stand. 

The only other answer is home-schooling, but that's difficult and time consuming.

One of my best running friends, who's a raging conservative, has a younger brother who's a total Demotard. He has raised his kids as Demotards and promoted leftist causes. Said brother has a son who is now in his 20's.  He got his first "real" job (involving sales and commission).  The kid worked really hard and was top in sales for the company.  He was appalled when he saw how much of his paycheck was stolen from him in "taxes".  He could not believe it.  My friend's brother called my friend and told him "Hey guess what, my kid is turning into one of you."
