It reveals Obama to be either a clueless twit or political ass. It highlights that he just came off of vacation by making everyone ask why now? It draws attention to a speech that we know will go poorly simply because they all do because he's got nothing to say. And it makes people wonder what is so scary to Obama about the GOP candidates that he should want to distract from their debate, so it draws even more attention to our candidates.
Frankly, the only way we win even more is if Nancy Reagan gets on the tube and asks Obama why he's trying to ruin the debate she's hosting at her dead husband's library?

I've never worked with Objective C (the language that you pretty well have to use to write an iPhone app), so I'm not sure. I could probably do something similar for Windows Phone pretty quickly- but it would take a few days.
You have to write the code that aggregates that data too, remember: there isn't anyone just publishing that all as one block. So he had to write something that will go grab the latest numbers from rasmussen, and the latest data from BLS, etc., etc. I can see how it would take a while. And, if he's like me, he really only gets 6 - 7 hours of sleep a night anyway.
