House Votes Overwhelmingly To Repeal ObamaCare, 245-189; On To The Senate?
— Ace

Three Democrats joined the Republicans, while no Republicans joined the Democrats, meaning -- Bipartisan Advantage, baby!

Not so's anyone will notice, of course.

At Hot Air, a potential maneuver to at least force the Senate to vote on this (over Harry Reid's objection, naturally). Rule 22, apparently.

Naturally, as you know, we won't have 60 votes to overcome a filibuster but still it must be done, eh?

1 Its interesting that whenever this vote was mentioned in the news, they always say that it won't pass the Senate, no way. Whistling past the graveyard?

Perhaps. Lets get the names on the record though.

2 More bipartisan than the vote to enact it.

Posted by: 141Driver at January 19, 2011 03:36 PM (DXa7u)

3 Not so sure about not having 60 votes in Senate. We will see, we will see ...

8 What's sad is, we could've had at least three more votes ... Delaware, Nevada, and Colorado. We blew them, for various and sundry reasons.

10 Two years.  Take the Senate.  Elect somebody Prez who is not Mike Effing Huckabee or Mitt Effing Romney and then kill the damn thing for real.

Until then trust in Paul Ryan to set the appropriate appropriations traps.

(Nice alliteration, huh?)

17 O/T:  no wonder his poll numbers are up (MBC/WSJ poll) he's serving mom's apple pie and good old fashioned American beef at hu's little dinner gathering.

Chrissy is doing his usual skewering of Sarah Palin?  They are referencing a pundit who criticized her and who plans to run for office and they must have mentioned said pundit's name before I tuned in.   They are pointing out that she is associating herself with Mark Levin, Hannity and Rush and that she is a "great foil for the president".  Guess they are attempting to make her "base" distrust her.  They've spent an awful lot of time on a woman they say "can't win".  "You can't run for president while being a pundit", "she has pushed herself farther and farther out on the right by associating with those "vicious" talk show hosts".  It's fascinating......she is making them totally nuts....why?  cause they can't p;predict what she's going to do and no matter how much they criticize her, she just doesn't seem to care.  As an aside, everything said tonight on Matthrew's show was said this morning on the to headline comments thread.  They can't even come up with new ideas.

27 I thought the Dems just got rid of the filibuster? Or jiggered it up somehow - or am I mis-remembering something they intended to do and that the dems, like normal, forgot about it like some distracted dog diving after a particularly smelly lump of feces?

28 This sends a signal, in conjunction with the majority of state governments suing over the constitutionality of Obamacare, and polls indicatiting that a majority of the public want repeal. More signals to follow.

Posted by: Wm T Sherman at January 19, 2011 03:51 PM (w41GQ)

29 The Democrats tried to get rid of the filibuster but they need 2/3 votes to remove it. That's 7+ more votes they would have had to get from the Republicans instead of the usual Maine Duo jumping the wagon.

Ahh yes, the Eric Stratton/St. Jude the Apostle Memorial Act of 2011.

Preamble: "We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons, but that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part!"

Still, nice to see them try, I suppose.

Whoever votes against repeal will just be added to the list of who to defeat in 2012...republican or democrat or independent.  We now have a list of 189 communists to vote of office in the house.  Lets move on to the senate and see who will make the list there.

The dims have evidently forgotten redistricting will begin soon.  Maybe some of these jerry rigged districts will be abolished.  We do have a majority of governors...unfortunately mine is not one of them.
