— Ace Before that: Seattle coed's mom furious at Weiner for not settling this matter.
"I'm really upset. I feel like he's a person of power and influence, who can make a statement and make all this go away," Carol Mizuguchi said, blasting Rep. Anthony Weiner for his continued snarky sidestepping."As her mother, I'm really upset," Mizuguchi told The Post. "I'm pissed off at that."
Well, he has put out a statement. What he needs to do is bring in a 3rd party who he does not control, by virtue of being their client, like, oh, I don't know. The FBI IC3 unit.
Also attracting a lot of comments at Hot Air, where I cribbed it from.
And now, the silly Next Media Animation.

Anyway, to expand on the thesis of this post, the best way for Weiner to clear his name, end this scandal, and take the attention off the REAL victims (ie the Seattle coed, and his wife) is for Weiner to either ask for a formal investigation or admit he was the author of the Pee-pee tweet.

Seriously, someone should make a speed seduction course, one of those NLP deals, where you use leftie bullshit to get chicks into bed.
It would be the best thing ever, because it is apparent that the leftie chicks like that lunatic Mandy Marcotte don't seem to mind and sort of sexual harassment, and make a bunch of goddamn excuses for leftie guys who do that shit.
It's like your typical liberal college dude on the lying/dating scene on steroids.

*cough* This isn't Weiner related, but variety is the spice of life, right? Link is to the Washington Examiner (embedded link is to Cornell.edu):
(Solicitor General) Kaytal responded by noting that the thereÂ’s a provision in the health care law that allows people to avoid the mandate.
“If we’re going to play that game, I think that game can be played here as well, because after all, the minimum coverage provision only kicks in after people have earned a minimum amount of income,” Kaytal said. “So it’s a penalty on earning a certain amount of income and self insuring. It’s not just on self insuring on its own. So I guess one could say, just as the restaurant owner could depart the market in Heart of Atlanta Hotel (v. United States, 1964), someone doesn’t need to earn that much income. I think both are kind of fanciful(…)”

Anthony Weiner is so above the sniping and unwarranted criticism from conservatives with his proven track record of honesty and integrity, and love of county?
His performance before the media has been spectacularly noteworthy. Worthy of the Butthead of the Year Award for buffoonery, idiocy, and elitist condescension. Worst performance by an actor since Fonzie jumped the shark. Weiner deserved three dicks down.
Posted by: Fish the Impaler at June 02, 2011 11:06 AM (cwFVA)
I agree that this Seattle college student is peripheral, and I personally haven't said a thing about her.
But to be clear, it seems plain she isn't exactly an "innocent victim" here.
She called Weiner "her boyfriend" in a text, and she's also not answering questions about her participation in this incident prior to and after the slipped photo. I'd go so far as to say that it looks like she's participating in the coverup.

As to Gennette's mom.
Of course I'd be pissed; it's how moms are. Don't you think Sarah is pissed for good reason at Levi?
Weiner was dicpicking Gennette and now suddenly he doesn't know her. No, she's not the totally innocent victim, but Weiner is still a cad.
What Gennette needs to do is come TOTALLY clean about this. "Yes, I flirted with a married man online. We sexted. It was wrong." And all the remaining gory details.

I'm all for not dissing on the coed, but I have to disagree that she's peripheral, ace. Weiner's tweet to her is the aggravating event here. I'd call her pivotal, since their relationship (or lack thereof) goes directly to motive for the incident. Again, I don't want to deride her, but I don't believe she's a non-entity in all this either.
I have to question her taste in men. I mean, really? She prefers the guy who looks like a constipated ostrich over Ryan? She must be the result of a unionized teacher education.

To be clear here, Weiner is 47 years old. This college chick is what, 21? Whatever she did could be chalked up to youthful stupidity, and electronic bravado. Hard to give dickhead the same benefit of the doubt.
To cover herself, all she'd have to say was that she was flattered by the attention from a famous Congressman, she didn't realize he was married, the conversation turned flirty, and leave it at that.
But who knows what the actual conversation was like. It seems implausible that Weiner got to the point of texting his little picture without some sort of "context" there.
So in fact, their conversation (whatever it was) may well have been pretty racy, perhaps in both directions. That might explain why she doesn't want to discuss the matter, and it could also explain why both parties each quickly deleted a whole bunch of electronic communications.

It has come to my attention that a picture that I sent through Twitter on Friday night that I had intended to be a private message was accidentally made public by me. The picture was intended to be sent to a private citizen, a young lady whom I have never met in person, but with whom I have had occasion to correspond privately over the Internet via Twitter. The nature of this correspondence, to my mind, has always been innocent flirtation between two adults; I never intended it to be anything more than that, and I do not believe it should be viewed as anything more than innocent flirtation. It so happens that, in the Internet age, flirtation often takes place over vehicles like Twitter, and, with the advance of technology, can sometimes involve the exchange of pictures. But, with the advance of technology, unfortunately, it becomes easier to make mistakes that can, with the push of the wrong button, reach tens of thousands of people. The picture in question here, I understand, will be viewed by some as salacious, and I apologize to anyone who may have been offended. Naturally I am personally embarrassed by these events being made public. I also regret very much the embarrassment this has caused by wife. Finally, I regret very much the embarrassment this must have caused the young lady in question, and I would ask that all of you respect her privacy, since none of this was her fault. Thank you. I think if he'd said something like this on Saturday, this would all be over by now. He'd have come off as honest, human, gracious and concerned about the young lady's reputation, apologetic to his wife, and he also would have identified himself with the vast numbers of Americans who engage in virtual relationships and virtual flirtation on the Internet, via email, via texting, etc.
The problem, of course, is that, if you're the type of creep who wants to send pictures of your Johnson to young girls, you're also unlikely to be the type of guy who can stand up, say mea culpa sincerely, and ask for forgiveness for your sins. It's a Catch-22. If you're not a stand up guy, it's hard to be a stand up guy. No pun intended.

You concentrate on the "evidence", Ace, and that's admirable, but none of us believed the "I wuz hacked" story and if it was indeed bogus then it surely meant there were going to be other ramifications down the line. As I expected, the MBM sort of ignored/skirted the story until it got too juicy. Once it crosses a lurid threshhold, even Democrats are not safe. Just ask John Edwards.
Rep. Weiner has tried a number of approaches, if you'll notice .. "I was hacked!", to "it happens", to making jokes about what Jon Stewart said, and finally refusing to claim the photo was NOT of his "nether regions" (I think I saw that term somewhere at one of the "news" sites). This guy, as you astutely noted, could not find a story and stick with it or even do those things that would be appropriate for any one story. I don't know but it strikes me as sort of dumb.
This very minute, there is a nice looking young woman somewhere in one of them western time zones who is simply stewing over this whole business and now there's an "upset" mother involved. Poor woman has probably cried her eyes out over this whole terribly embarrassing business ... but soon, she'll dry her eyes and call a lawyer. Does Gabe still practice law?
Thank you, Rep Weiner, for some ribald summer entertainment. I'm going to have giggle fits until the Fall.
There is a synonym for "social network" -- and it is "very public network" and if you screw up in an embarrassing way you screw up publicly and globally. Enuff said.

Are you, in fact, brain damaged? Because, really, had I known I would have just smiled politely and passed on the other side of your post.

No, cockbite, I'm an engineer. And my business is reasoning. I have a well reasoned hatred for leftards, though. And I do mean hatred.

It was good, too good. The earnestness was so spot on.
