— Dave in Texas Just a couple of weeks after the last round that killed 45. Weather Channel reports 32 confirmed dead, from Texas to Alabama, and storms on the ground in Georgia.
A Mississippi police officer killed while protecting his daughter while on a camping trip, covering her body with his own. He was killed when a tree limb fell on their tent. She was not hurt.
Awful.
More: Cuffy says radio reports of 64 dead in Alabama. He's tweeting from home on a phone that's about out of power, no power at home. Hunkered down, but ok.

TVA Browns Ferry in Alabama. They tripped, went on diesel power, shut down as normally and safety systems are working as advertised.

Last I heard, 130 tornados, 58 confirmed dead, and tornados are still on the ground. Blame La Nina. Outbreak to rival 1974. This is historic.

Be smart, folks, and stay out of sight. Listen to the warnings and take them seriously. I don't want to see any morons posting photos and videos of tornadoes, okay? If you can see it, it will get you.

I was watching streaming alabama television when the tuscaloosa tornado came through on live television. It was absolutely surreal. Those mets have been on since this afternoon, their contribution to public safety is epic. This one guy has been going for something like 8 solid hours and still going.
Thoughts and prayers going out to the south, no matter where you are. Stay safe.

It's been an ugly evening--for those of you who haven't seen my post on the ONT, Tuscaloosa looks to have had a couple dozen killed by the monster that smashed through there. Didn't hit the U of A though, they've opened the Student Center for shelter for students who need it.
Probably won't even know how bad it really was until morning. Night twisters are the worst.

Most of the morons are down on the link below.
My son is in a vacation cabin right now in NE Georgia in mountains. First tornado, which was on the ground for 300 miles (says husband) missed them. Think second one will as well, thanks be to God.
Please pray for all of these people impacted. I have lived through both tornadoes and hurricanes and cannot process this storm. Thank you for your prayers for the South and Southeast.
Jane's family is in Atlanta and also needs your prayers.

Racefan had to go under his house a couple of times. We haven't heard from him since. He's in N. GA. outside Rome. Put his gun, ammo, clothes, etc. in an Igloo cooler and went under the house while the tornado sirens were going. Last we heard, he thought things had gotten better, then he was like, "whoops". I'm worried we haven't heard back from him.

I have two siblings in the Chattanooga area and my brother said there were 5 tornados in their area today. They spent most of the day doing tornado drills and waiting for the storms.
Prayers for everyone affected by the storms, especially those in Tuscaloosa County and other counties hit by the supercell. The news from that area is heartbreaking.

The largest cell hit Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. Some of the buildings are gone and even the slabs are missing. The Weather Channel also reported a partial hotel collapse in Rome, GA from the same storm.

G-d's speed to the dead, and their families.
Here in North Texas there were fires out west until four storms in less than 24 hours took a lot of them out, but the tornados took a lot of folks out from here to MO. I had my BDU's, and field gear on three times due to tornado warnings closing in on our area. The wife was not easy to be around then.
There is a much bigger problem going on. Just this past winter, it was crazy for a lot of the country. Now, it is off the charts for a lot of the country again. This appears to have been going on one way or another for the past 15 years to me Throw in a few Hurricanes for good measure.
WTF Over?

It's kicking up here in southeastern PA right now. Looks like my county is getting the tail end of it though. Reading and Allentown are getting hammered.
We have had so much rain here that I haven't been able to mow my lawn. Looks like I am a professional dandelion grower. I've had two inches of standing water in my backyard for over a week now. I am trying to get ready to sell my house but my yard is a disaster area.
