— Ace If anyone wants to post somethin'...
Hilarious: Thanks to Andy, unfunny clown Bill Maher hilariously beclowns himself.
The joke he accuses The Onion of stealing is what we call in the industry "a bad joke." Sure, if you're a comic, you toss the bad stuff out there too; in any endeavor, a lot of times it's publish or perish. You can't just not be funny because you don't have a good joke. Good joke, bad joke -- if you're a pro comic, you're expected to have jokes when you go on stage.
So I don't blame Maher for using the joke. (Or The Onion for using it.) It's a bad joke, but if you need to tell a joke, what the hell.
What is truly sad is that Bill Maher is especially proud of this disposable, lame, obvious wordplay. This to him is Intellectual Property that must be fought over.
That is sad. This poor, sad, short whoremonger.

"Knocking off"
Is that what the cool kids are calling it now? I always liked "prompting the porpoise" myself.

FLASH: Syria's Muslim Brotherhood movement calls on Syrians to take to streets to demand freedom: declaration issued ahead of Friday prayers
While there's a good chance that many of the people protesting against the Chinless Ophthalmologist are not "Islamist", I'm afraid that if baby Assad is ousted, people such as the Syrian MB will take over.

He must have realized that he hadn't bought any lace doilies for the pre-ceremony tea time.

Here's why I'm a little apprehensive about these protests in Syria:

Yeah, that's a concern... but what would the MB do differently? Funnel weapons to Hezbollah? Terrorize Lebanon? Become hostile to Israel?
It's one of those rare situations in which anyone who replaced him really couldn't be much worse.

Of course the reason he has no self-esteem is because he's a shitty comedian.
Hey, remember when Bill Maher was a "libertarian?" Yeah, me neither. I don't remember anything about Bill Maher.

"I think Maher is this generation's Johnny Carson. If Carson was a smug syphilitic dwarf."
I can see a little bit why people think Colbert's funny, I guess, but Maher, no. To me he's got that look about him like the kid in your class who was always getting beaten up and shoved into the girl's bathroom. And none of the girls liked him or would sit next to him. And he smelled like pee. That one.

#30, or you could say "Maher's so thin skinned he's got a reservoir tip." (Not mine, someone posted that about JEF on another site re the Texas TV interview.)

@22: "Even more Superman irony: Superman plaque stolen in Cleveland."
You want Superman irony? One of the guys who played him wasn't faster than a speeding bullet, and another wasn't able to leap moderately tall obstacles in a single bound. The guy from the most recent movie should stay the fuck away from trains.

Maher is a comedian? The Duece you say.
Bitter man? Sure,
Narcassistic windbag? Check,
Angry? Yep,
Thin Skinned? Oh yea.
Whiny? Yeppers.
Funny? Not a chance.

Oldsailer - I've got a sib who is a teacher in a school on the poor side of town. She does all the same. Has brought breakfasts to kids, bought them coats, given them school supplies etc etc etc
Every week she tells me some ridiculous story about what the beaurocrats and principal are doing to block her progress, waste her time or blame her for something. It's all P.C. bullcrap.
It's a shame. It's also a snapshot of why public schools are doomed.
Bless you anyway for being there and doing all that. You'll never know this side of heavan the lives that you've touched.
