That 2011 "Ironclad" movie just out or soon out on bluray,  not far into but it starts complaing about an out of control monarch raising taxes etc.. until he is forced to sign the Magna Carta.   That first 5 minutes was "timely!"

Like I said at this point leftists are basically micro managing monarchists.

5 Two CrapWeasels in a basket! That was crazy how identical they were.  I know leftism still has all the same faults in 2011 it had in the 1970's, but its still astounding to see it play out so similarly.

This presents Republicans with a tremendous opportunity: if the president will not agree to the sorts of fundamental reforms that are required to truly end the crisis, then the correct course of action is to wage a war of attrition against the president on a personal level, one designed to besiege him in the White House and then to break him on a psychological level.

I have implemented a Rule to save gas based on your license plate number. Democrats with Odd numbers can fill up on Odd numbered days. If they are unfortunate enough to have an even number , we will be sending out plus one vouchers with a postage paid return mail coupon to enter into a contest to have dinner with me and Joey. It won't be one of those fancy shmancy things you've had the pleasure to watch me enjoy, but it will be us and some burgers or something.

So the Republican voters can buy gas when they have a license plate that ends in an even number on even days unless an even plus one patron is also needing gas, the plus one patron will be able to take reperational Cutsies.

That is all...

100 Marlowe, the version I heard was the NRA is asking certain Dim senators facing re-election (cough, Manchin, Tester, cough) to use their influence during these budget/debt votes to get rid of Holder. Had not heard about its progresss.

101 I am just passing it along from another board, though I trust the writer to not just make up info.  Beyond that, I have nothing atm.

103 runningrn,  the only reason Holder would be thrown under the bus is if Obama needs a big goat to take the fall and protect his wonderfulness.

If Holder resigns,  it is because Obama hopes it will keep the sharks from eating him.

I think there's little chance that Obama will be getting into a boat to get attacked by a killer rabbit. So what's the comparable to that going to be? My money's on him getting attacked by the Temple Baby Owl mascot during his next tournament bracket show.

106 I mentioned on another thread the other day that Rush played a soundbite of Obama that was directly stolen from the movie The American President. IT was near the end of the movie when Michael Douglas steps into a press conference. The line was A: they'll make you afraid of it and B: they'll tell you who to blame for it. (I'm paraphrasing but Obama's line was almost verbatim from the movie. So TOTUS is now reduced to stealing bad lines from bad movies. I can't believe nobody caught this.

107 Lazy college kids will sometimes steal old essays and change them up a bit and then turn them in for credit.

Hell, I wrote the same essay for two courses in college.  Polysci and econ.  Saved myself a whole bunch of trouble.

Not surprising.  Their view of American politics comes from that move and the West Wing.

115 Obarky is doing Carter redux.  The US embassy in some middle eastern country was ransacked by a mob this week.

It's 1979 all over again!

Some questions:  Is disco coming back too?  What about my hair? And this damn paunch?  Will playmates again have natural boobs, hair and no tats?

Its shameful to compare Carter and the Obamao.

Carter was married to a woman.  Obamao is married to Lt. Whorf.

Carter was a trained engineer and ran a peanut farm.  Obamao was a trained affirmative action professional and ran rable rousing thugs.

Carter threw the Shah and Samoza under the bus.  Obamao threw every regime friendly to the US under the bus.

Carter protested wars and destroyed the military.  Obamao is a warmonger who is destroying the military,

Carter took the DOW down to 300 and destroyed the economy.  Obamao has kept the DOW strong but has not only destroyed the economy he has made it the property of the US government and unions.

Carter was a joke.  Obamao is a tragedy.

Carter was a natural born citizen. Obama has forged papers.

119 To his credit, Carter was honest. He may be--to this day--inept, narrow, foolish, bigoted, self-serving, and continually out of his depth, but he says what he truly believes, however flawed his reasoning or ill-founded (and sometimes malicious) those beliefs. The same cannot be said of President Obama, who lies as easily as he breathes, relying on the short attention span of an ill-informed public and a compliant, adoring media to perpetuate the lies and cover up the glaring contradiction with the facts. We haven't seen a President with character this flawed since Nixon, but I don't think anyone would doubt Nixon's love of country, his rationalization that everything he did, he did for the greater good. Read Nixon's post-presidential writings, and you'll see what I mean. Obama, on the other hand, doesn't think that way. The quintessential narcissist, Obama won't love our country until it is transformed into something more closely resembling himself.

The cool thing about this is when you realize Obama is an order of magnitude worse than Carter, that also means the resulting Carter Effect (aka election of Ronald Reagan) will also be an order of magnitude stronger.

Since Reagan really only stopped Big Government in its tracks for awhile, maybe the Carter Effect of 2012 stands the chance of actually reversing its course this time.  Ah, the irony of "Hope and Change".

123 If you liked that, you'll love this! http://tinyurl.com/3kv9ylk I took Carter's malaise speech word-for-word, and just updated it and phrased it like Obama would. It is surprising how much it sounds like something he'd say.
