Liberals Express Frustration That President Awesome Won't Up His Game
— Dave in Texas

The heat makes everybody a little bitchy, doesn't it?

Republicans and Democrats have unleashed fusillades of attack against each other in the wake of the announcement but Obama has stayed quiet, frustrating his partyÂ’s base.

“It’s hard to see how we avoid a Tea-Party recession* if the president who has the biggest megaphone in the country is not willing to speak clearly on the issue,” Justin Ruben, executive director of MoveOn.org, told The Hill in a Saturday afternoon interview.

For all his bluster and crank, Obama just can't manage to be pissy enough for his deep left-field base.

I checked my crystal balls this past week, and came up with two explanations for the leftist bitching over the debt deal. Ace hit on one, they're just now figuring out they lost in 2010.

Mine are 1) they see their Precious™ in deep shit in 2012. It's dawning on them that the pendulum is still swinging the wrong way, and 2) they realize the only thing right now keeping them from 4-8 years of Republican governance is a couple of dozen ninnies in the Senate.

That can't feel good. Hence the full-on, spittle flecked wigout from the left.

They've had 3 years of shoving the shit sandwich down our gullets. Any compromise, any perception that they can't kick us around anymore is intolerable. They don't just want to win, they want to punish conservatives.

Compromising, losing face, is not punishing.

And it's not acceptable to them.

I wish I could hug them all and tell them in a reassuring voice, "too fucking bad."

According to Frau Blucher at the NCEW Civility Project, I can call them bitchy if I deem it factual.

*yup, this is the new trial balloon. I expect tomorrow's Sunday news crap shows to be full of this one, and I predict we'll hear it a lot from now on.

8 President Pissypants can't be bothered, he's too far above us regular proles, whether we voted for him or not.

Loving my lurking on lefty sites these days.  The die-hard supporters are having to yell louder and louder to be heard and having to go through some pretty gymnastical screeds in support of JEF.

The left has more problems than that. They were able to increase the size of government by about 50% in two years if you include Obamacare. That's a standard for the left, increase the gov. and eventually you will have to tax everyone to pay for it.

S&P just shit in their punchbowl, hard cuts are coming and everything they have fought for is coming to an end. Even if you eliminated the bush tax cuts on poor, middle class and rich it's only $400 Billion a year. That leaves at a minimum $1.2 Trillion a year in cuts and that doesn't include medicare.

19 After reading that piece, I'm still not clear on what they want him to to do that he isn't already doing.  He gave a bunch of speeches and press conferences over the past few weeks and it did him absolutely no good.  I guess he could mention the Tea Party more explicitly (and, really, these complaints seem more aimed at blaming the Tea Party for everything than attacking Obama), but since a bunch of other prominent Democrats and people in the press have been doing that anyway, they're kidding themselves if they think it'll make much more of a difference.

Standard Democratic analysis -- "It's our messaging that sucks, not, I repeat *not*, anything of substance we're doing."

You know I do kind of agree with them in a way - Obumbles sure hasn't seemed to me to be busting his ass to get as much of their agenda passed into law as possible given his Congressional majorities through January 2011.  Had he had some sort of work ethic I think he could have done a lot more than he actually has.  If the roles were reversed I'd think we'd all be more than a bit disappointed with the President.

Because he isn't doing enough for the left,  and because he constantly rubs his lack of effort in their faces with parties, vacations, etc.  their rage level is reaching atomic proportions.

Since he is protected by the Secret Service, the targets will be prominent conservatives and Tea Party gatherings.

They will want to "show someone" and he knows exactly what he's doing.  After the violence,  he will be on TV declaring all sorts of emergency actions and tut-tutting about the lack of civility.  Just like he did with the Gabby Giffords shooting.

67 From Cantor's interview in the WSJ today: "The assumption . . . is that there is some kind of perpetual engine of economic prosperity in America that is going to just continue. And therefore they are able to take from those who create and give to those who don't." "It's almost as if someone cannot have another opinion that is different from his. He becomes visibly agitated. . . . He does not like to be challenged on policy grounds." "Never was there ever an underlying economic argument" from Democrats. "It was all about social justice. Honestly, one of them said to me, 'Some people just make too much money.'" Mr. Obama's policies "are what are choking this economy," Mr. Cantor argues, mentioning the stimulus, health care, the auto bailout, "unpredictable and onerous" regulators like the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Labor Relations Board, "the God-forsaken Dodd-Frank regime" and "a taxation system that is noncompetitive, to say the least." He continues: "It doesn't work for Washington to be granted this almighty power that somehow is going to cure all ills and right all the wrongs that they think exist." This is the mindset we're up against. It truly is terrifying. It seems like Cantor performed really well, though. Full article: http://tinyurl.com/3fw2gxh

They owned it the second they passed that Keynesian stimulus.

Keynesian economics is supposed to work immediately.  Immediately.  That's the whole point of it.  As Keynes said, "In the long run, we're all dead."

If it takes 2 to 4 years to work, you would have been better off doing nothing at all.

They passed the stimulus in February 2009 and held Congress for the next 23 months.

Frankly, I want them to remind the American people, again and again, about the Tea Party.  Remind us of the spending. Remind us of the horrible economics and governance that created them.

But I have to disagree with Dave.  This is not Anger.  This is Bargaining.  Right now, they're trying to Bargain with Obama.  Wait until they start trying to Bargain with the Tea Party.

There was also a flash mob in Shaker Heights on July 4 before the fireworks went off; the cops dealt pretty effectively with it though.  People with kids took off quickly, which I think was the responsible thing to do.  I wanted to leave myself because of concern that the worthless fucks would go on a rampage and trash everybody's car; but Mrs Hate is like a child when it comes to fireworks...  There was some other strange shit that urban youths were up to that night; very disconcerting and unsettling.  Glad one of my good guy neighbors packs a lot of heat.

I assume it's occurred to people just how horribly ugly the behavior of the Left will be between now and November 2012.

Everything that's happened so far is a weak dilution of things to come. The the slander, the lying, the secret mainstream media message coordination, will of course increase. That's a given. Just what they are doing now, only much more so.

But I predict that they will also really take it to the next level. Invading flash mobs, targeted prosecution of political opponents, massive ballot box stuffing.

They had it in their hands and it's slipping away. They imagine that their defeat can be turned around if they're just willing to go far enough.  I am expecting some serious violence as well as heavy abuse of law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and the IRS.

Unfortunately, some rons would, like War alluded to....have relations with just about anything, so it would take the fun out of the game.  Only Morons with discriminating tastes (and I know their are some of you out there, heh) would make the comments fun.

I think I'll wait for the potential ONT topic to come up to reveal mine.

The 2012 elections will be upon us sooner than we can imagine. With this in mind, I would like to remind our side of the vital importance of avoiding the pitfalls of racism and bigotry that are the unfortunate legacy of our conservative ideolological inheritance.

Reagan's scapegoating of "welfare queens" along with Bush's failure to allieviate the suffering of Hurricane Katrina have left us in a deep hole with the African American community. And rightfully so.

We will only win in 2012 with inclusiveness, not intolerance.

225 I hope someone is working hard at finding the people behind the so-called "flash mobs" (you don't spontaneously get 100 people of one ethnicity from random locations to all meet in one place for a crime spree on short notice). People are planning the large events, at least, and I am not hearing from police in local coverage that they're even looking - they mostly try to minimize the events or even disguising the nature of the groups (like when someone name Achmed Mohammed Khazan is caught with a bomb, everyone spends two weeks very publicly avoiding any possible motive). This is the kind of thing that, if you don't clamp down on it, it *does* become a social phenomenon, and then you get Mogadishu West all across the US. Hopefully it's not too late. But I guarantee you there are people organizing these things, a relatively few people doing the organizing and almost certainly not showing up at the "club meetings." This is not only historically unknown it's historically inevitable - Russia, China, Germany, the violent end of the 60s radicals here and in Europe...

SHPD are pretty cool.  One day I was driving down Shaker Blvd going west; when I got to the Warrensville intersection I went on South Park behind Hathaway Brown.  Since Shaker is a 35 limit I was still going around 40 when it goes down to 25.  I saw a cop parked in a driveway and jumped on the brakes but too fucking late and the lights went on and I pulled over.  When he asked for my license and registration he told me I was going 42 and I responded "I'm sure that's correct".  He took a minute to make sure I wasn't driving a boosted car and came back and said "Well Captain, today's your lucky day.  You're the first person who hasn't given me some bullshit story about how fast he or she was going and your honesty is rewarded with just a warning".  I thanked him for his professionalism and drove home.

Eh, not all Cleveland Heights PD are fine; they've got at least a couple cockwipes on the force.  Plenty of good ones though and the brass are very good at dealing with problems.

255 So the Left's solution to our economic problems is to confiscate an ADDITIONAL 10% of GDP to pay off government's excesses.  That's how much we overspend (above what they already confiscate) EVERY YEAR now in Obama's America.

Twenty-five cents of every dollar anyone makes in America would go to fund government.

That's lunacy.

259 There were flash mobs and riots all over the place on July 4th

We were up at the boards at SeaSide Heights for the fireworks with a grandkid.

Fireworks done - flashmob.  Family's split.  Boards closed down.

The mob, all black kids, was constrained by the boardwalk, the cops from several towns surrounded them and arrested everyone...scores and scores.

Note that this was on the southern end of the boardwalk.  The northern end is 'Jersey Shore' Guido territory...freakin' annoying but not violent.

You have to wade through a boatload of Obama ass kissing to get to this gem ...

A second possibility is that he is simply not up to the task by virtue of his lack of experience and a character defect that might not have been so debilitating at some other time in history. Those of us who were bewitched by his eloquence on the campaign trail chose to ignore some disquieting aspects of his biography: that he had accomplished very little before he ran for president, having never run a business or a state; that he had a singularly unremarkable career as a law professor, publishing nothing in 12 years at the University of Chicago other than an autobiography; and that, before joining the United States Senate, he had voted "present" (instead of "yea" or "nay") 130 times, sometimes dodging difficult issues.

.. of course, it was only conjecture.

After two years of inhaling his excrement, they actual admit that this is at least a possibility. A 'well done' goes to the Times.

267 has anyone here ever wanted to build a tree house or a club house of some sort? I kinda wondered.
and if so what kind?

I think at this point my tree house would be a sturdy observation platform with a good rail and at least a partial roof on it. Maybe a full roof. Painted dark brown and green it would blend into the tree. Definitely need a rope and pulley. Think a block and tackle is overkill? I think it might make it easier to get a good chair up there...

273 All day yesterday on Faux News we had repeated demands that the government put aside "petty partisanship" and come together for a government solution.

They are preparing the field for another collapse, are the Republicans.

What is most discouraging is how many people on our side believe that government programs can fix a bad economy. Those of us who believe the only way the government can help is by shrinking are a very small minority, I believe.

There are larger ramifications for the left here also. We've heard for years about how demographic shift (hispanics) would give them a permanent majority in the not too distant future. To me, it looks like that is crumbling. We've hit the point in our country where we've basically ran out of other people's money for them to buy votes with. Therefore, it's just not going to matter what the demographics of our country are. Math will impose it's will regardless. The left will have no choice to move to the right in terms of economic policies. If they don't, there are only a couple possible outcomes: a) our country completely collapses, b) they become a completely irrelevant political party.

The electorate will decide which of the two will happen. But either way, I think these last 3 years represent the beginning of the end of leftist economics in this country.  And no matter how many illegals they legalize, or whatever scheme they have to drive a wedge into the electorate....broke is broke. And math will always kick the shit out of their sick desire for social justice. Always.

There are only a couple of problems with your little "the other side does it too" moment.  The first is that Valerie Plame wasn't an "Agent".  She was an analyst, and most certainly not a field agent with any kind of classified status.  If she had been, you would have most certainly seen a prosecution of some kind (not the one where Scooter Libby got thrown under the bus).  Second, the source of that prosecution would not have been Karl Rove or anyone else that the MoveOn crowd gets frothy over.  It would have been Colin Powell's chum Richard Armitage, who actually told Bob Novak about Plame's job.

The GOP shouldn't stop the Marxists from digging deeper and faster.  The problem remains the RINOs who are also digging deeper and faster too,  They have no principles, their need to compromise to be realistic to be realistic and relevant to the MSM is too great.

And their allies who pander to them in all and sundry are also responsible for their failure that there are many things too precious, too vital, essential to our liberties to be sold for thirty pieces of silver or a spot at MSNBC.

It is better to confront the financial debacle now at a place and time of our selection rather than be forced at some future time and place not of our choosing to deal with a debt that will crush generations to come.
