Live Stream of Wisconsin Assembly Debate on Union Reform Bill
— Ace

Democrats are just acting like jackasses. They are using some kind of dilatory tactic but a Republican just said that make no mistake, in two hours, the vote will be taken.

I don't know what that tactic was -- I came in too late. They mentioned removing someone for the cameras or something.

7 It's just really pathetic that a majority in this country can't see the difference between what we're supposed to have in a representative government and what we currently have with these whiny ass pieces of shit that think their job is to be the schoolyard bully and take the ball when they don't get their way.

Which doesn't invalidate your criticism re: temerity to claim that Repubs are killing Democracy- but, in this case, because they supported their buddies in the Senate, not because they actually left themselves.

1. unions showing other state politicians what will happen to them if they step out of line (I think the unions will come out winning on this score. Unless the R's turn around the PR and the public IQ grows by about 20  points, no other states are going to take this path...)

2. the fleabag 14 vying to jobs in the machine after they are recalled

3. The unions trying to play victim in order to win a PR fight that they have no right to win. srsly, what about this group is sympathetic?

Well, of course.  They're Democrats.  Ergo, anything they do is democratic, and anything or anyone opposed to them or their goals is anti-democratic.  Get it?

Just like the Soviets in the 40s & 50s, the point is to have a name that puts people at ease: thus the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.  See, if they add "Republic" to the name of the country, it must be so.  Well, if a political party calls itself Democratic, then it must- by definition- be for Democracy.  Even when it isn't.

Those orange tee shirts should coordinate with their orange jumpsuits someday. They should have been arrested for neglect of duty (or something else I would make up if I could).

Think about it: how many of you could leave your job and not get fired? RNs like me would be fired in a second for patient abandonment, with a possible Board of Nursing review and disciplinary actions against my license (even though I am blissfully retired). Yet these elitiest Democrat buffoons can leave the government of the state of Wisconsin for two weeks and think it is ok, cause it is for the "people." BS. It was a cowardly act to not vote just cause you lose. If I were there I'd be playing a Sousa march with armpit noises to drown out their democrat demogoguery.

Yes, but to claim they weren't "fighting for their base" was a little off.  Their tactics may have been smarmy, but they were (somewhat) effective.  Until they overplayed their hand, anyway.

While I don't suggest any Republicans ever try to get away with this, I would love more underhanded-ness from them when it comes to political battles.  Fighting by Marquis de Canterbury rules when your opponent is fighting by Marquis de Sade rules is not a good way to win.

Yes, ironic how Peter Barca is whining about the very same tactics used by Pelosi and Reid to pass ObamaCare.  Is ironic the right word?

I disagree with this statement.  Republicans in WI didn't meet behind closed doors and bar the opposition from certain meetints.  Republicans in WI didn't try and deem and pass.  Republicans in WI didn't write a 2000 page bill that no one could reaad.  Republicans didn't pull all the dirty tricks and shenanigans that Democrats did to get their monstrous health care bill through.  Democrats walked off the job in WI, Republicans in the U.S. House and Senate did not shirk their duties.

The Ayes have it and debate is ended.  The motion on the floor is for the passage of Senate bill ??, members will vote electronically.

The vote being taken shows Senate bill ?? is passed and will be enrolled and sent to the Governors office.

Mr Speaker?

The gentleman from Timbucktoo is recognized.  I move we adjourn for the day.

Second, hearing a second, the motion is on the floor.

All in favor say Aye, opposed Nay.  The Ayes have, the meeting is adjourned.

Well, they have Stalin, Hitler, Lenin, Castro, Kim Jung Il, Mugabe, Mao, Chavez--a pantheon of all stars!

It's because they have to pretend they are someone they are not.  Their true heros (the aforementioned "gentlemen") are too radical to admit.  Plus their policies end up in mass death, starvation, privation, and failure.  Democrats have to conceal their true intentions, as only about 30% of Americans are as radical as they are.  They need to win elections, after all.

Yes, yes. Be ever so proud that civil rights workers were actually killed, beaten and tortured so this lady could, years later, compare your suffering to a bunch of rich, white kids.

I still call bullshit on that.  There's no way they chartered the bus without using one account.  So either one of them wrote a big check and got reimbursed or some third party paid for it.

Audit those guys.

Considering he's not only talking about but actually supporting entitlement reform now, he very well bring-up the issue. I was just noting the change because he's allowed Vitter and the Texas delegation to discuss the issue instead. So who knows.

759 This can't be allowed to end until all of the teachers who abandoned their posts are fired and the doctors who handed out excuses like candy lose their licenses.  Precedents are being set here and it is important that they are the right ones.

There also needs to be some way for parents to get their kids out of the hands of these people.  WI needs to go ahead and implement a voucher system under the guise of protecting the good students and teachers from the reprisals that will certainly come from the rest.  There is no other way out for kids who did not participate in the protests and we have seen more than enough of the lack of professionalism from these teachers to predict the abuses they will hand out to those who can't fight back.
