Man Arrested In Separate Oslo Attack; Attack Targeted... Youth Camp
— Ace

From listening to the BBC, the other attack involved someone dressed as a policeman who entered a "youth camp" and began firing on them indiscriminately. The attack took place at a "youth camp" (I'm not getting a clearer description of what this is) on an island called Utoya near Oslo.

That man has been arrested.

By the way, George Gooding, who you might remember as "Seixon," was 750 meters away when the blast went off at the government building. He files his own picture of the destruction.

More: At least seven are dead in the "blasts;" I'm not sure, but there seem to have been multiple bombs.

Seven people were killed in the blast. I just heard over BBC that seven people were also killed at the "Youth Conference" (it's now being called) in Utoya. I get the sense it was some kind of political party conference for younger people. Confirmed: It was a Labor Party political conference.

A "prominent jihadist" has taken blame for the bombing, stating it was meant to penalize Norway for contributing troops to Afghanistan.

More: It seems like a coordinated attack, designed to hit the Prime Minister.

Shortly after the apparent bomb attack, a man dressed as a police officer opened fire on a youth political meeting on the island of Utoya in the Oslo fjord, about 25 miles from the city, the police said. There were initial reports that Prime Minister Stoltenberg was scheduled to attend the meeting.

“The situation’s gone from bad to worse,” said Runar Kvernen, spokesman for the National Police Directorate under the Ministry of Justice and Police. As fear spread through the capital, the police moved to lock down a wide area of the city center, where the streets were already nearly deserted.

The BBC reports that Norwegian police now suspect a "connection."

The shooter was arrested attempting to swim away from the island.

Claim: Some, on Twitter, are claiming the shooter was "blonde-haired, blue-eyed." But no one has confirmed that. Other reports say he was "foreign-looking."

15 Utøya is owned by the political youth party Workers' Youth League (Arbeidernes ungdomsfylking), which holds a summer camp there. The island was given as a commemorative gift during August 1950 by Oslo og Omegn faglige samorganisasjonen (Oslo Trade Union Confederation), a cooperative body for the main professional organizations.

Utoya Island is approx 20 miles SW of Oslo

The scenario we studied in detail was the Beslan attack, which the instructor's emphasized was what they were expecting next in the US. All the battle drills and scenarios revolved around that type of scenario. It's just a matter of time.

"Talk to Norwegian politicians, professors, and journalists and youÂ’ll soon discover that thereÂ’s a lingering sixties-ish view of the police as fascist pigs.  Norway wastes millions of kroner ever year on “development aid” that ends up largely in the pockets of corrupt African dictators; it pours millions more into the pockets of non-Western immigrants who have become masters at exploiting the welfare system; for heavenÂ’s sake, the Norwegian government even funds anarchists. ItÂ’s not entirely misguided for a Norwegian citizen to feel that his tax money is going less to fight the crime that threatens his home, his self, and his business than to support criminals."

Doubtful. On The Graniad site Ace linked to earlier:

"7.11pm: The New York Times has more on the claim of responsibility by an Islamist group (thanks to Marta Hernandez Salvan for passing this on):

A terror group, Ansar al-Jihad al-Alami (the Helpers of the Global Jihad), issued a statement claiming responsibility for the attack, according to Will McCants, a terrorism analyst at CNA, a research institute that studies terrorism. The message said the attack was a response to Norwegian forces' presence in Afghanistan and to unspecified insults to the Prophet Muhammad. "We have warned since the Stockholm raid of more operations," the group said, apparently referred to a bombing in Sweden in December 2010, according to Mr McCants' translation. "What you see is only the beginning, and there is more to come." The claim could not be confirmed.

180 Claim: Some, on Twitter, are claiming the shooter was "blonde-haired, blue-eyed."

Yesterday, Rush was quoting polling that found voters exposed to the US flag tend to vote the Republican ticket rather than Democrat.

Given the Big Sis propaganda video that made its rounds immediately before today on the global internet, who's really surprised to find a parallel that the not so subliminal global messaging that terrorists are white with blue eyes influences what people think they witnessed today in Norway.

Whoever was listening to Mark Steyn substituting for Rush Limbaugh today heard Steyn relate that the same Muslim radical cleric whom Steyn was penalized for quoting ("Muslims breed like mosquitoes") was ordered this last Wednesday to leave Norway, and that the cleric promised to issue terrorism if actually deported by the authorities. Another coincidence.

If indeed Norway was bucking the EU Euro bail-out of Greece et al., that's another motivation for terrorism but from the global financial corporatists that might explain where a blue eyed white gunman fit in wearing a (police) uniform.

What's happening with Norwegian youth? Are they actually taking part in student upheavals in society there as occurs regardless of region?

If it is an affront to Islam to show a depiction of Mohammed, I would assume there are few depictions and that good Muslims have destroyed such depictions. How then  would 21st Century Muslims know with some degree of certainty what is a depiction of Mohammed and what is not? If it is not a depiction, then why worry.

252 Why does Norway even allow muslims in the country? You know, humanity went through thousands of years of constant war because people want to live around people like themselves. This seems a good way for us all to live in peace. Norway for Norwegians. Japan for the Japanese. The ethnic nation-state is a great idea. Cause then instead of killing each other of what god to worship, and language to speak, and food to eat ... you can just live with people who look and talk and act like you do. Diversity=constant war and violence. America is a bit of an exception and we have to make the best of what we got. The upside of American diversity is the creative friction from our differences. The downside is, uh, probably all the murders. Yeah, I guess I'd have to go with the tens of thousand of brutal murders every year. And the 100,000 rapes in America every year. That's kinda bad, too. Also the approximately 1 million violent assaults and beatings in America every year. But, remember, Diversity=Strength. And we got rock music and tap dance. And hip hop. Yaaay, Diversity!

OSLO, Norway —

An eyewitness tells Norwegian broadcaster NRK that he saw 20 to 25 bodies at the youth camp where a gunman dressed in a police uniform opened fire.

Andre Scheie says he saw bodies on the shore of the Utoya island where the youth wing of the Labor Party was holding a summer camp for hundreds of youths.

Scheie said Friday: "There are very many dead by the shore ... there are about 20-25 dead." He also said he saw dead people in the water

392

A muz got arrested in Norway for butchering his 3 sisters with an axe... got 21 years.  So I think that's it, doesn't matter how many people you take out.

However, it looks like Norway can "contain" you indefinitely if they believe you'll murder again.  But the crazy muz who killed his family didn't fit that criteria, so I don't know who would.  Teabaggers probably.

"District Attorney Kristian Nicolaisen argued for forvaring for Khan, extended preventive custody that can be used to potentially extend a sentence to life incarceration, on the grounds that there was a danger the Norwegian-Pakistani could kill again.

The court did not rule in favor of forvaring, explaining that it was unlikely he would emerge from such a long prison sentence with his drug problems intact.

Khan was on a variety of drugs, vodka and rohypnol when committing the crimes.

The three sisters Nafisa, 13, Saadia, 24, and Sobia, 27, were struck down with an axe and murdered in their semi-detached home in the Kalbakken district of Oslo. One of the sisters was also shot with a pistol on the night of October 1, 2006.

When the trial began the brother declared himself partially guilty, and testified that he could not remember carrying out the killings, but realized that he must have been responsible."

I have the same belief about the panty-sniffing, anime geek Japanese shut-ins. Somewhere, deep down, lies the heart of a Samurai warrior. The Scandis have allowed the muzzies to threaten them, to rape their women, and now to murder their children. Hopefully this wakes them up. It probably won't. But someday the muzzies will push the Dirty Scandis too far. Then it'll be Coward of the County time.

Back when I had a blog, years ago, I wrote a post "Think Small". I proposed that only the egos of the big men in charge keep AQ from truly striking fear in America. They want big BOOMS in BIG cities! When the really, truly, fanatical believers get tired of it and decide to take matters into their own hands; midnight raids through a small town, taking out a rural church, firing on school kids, etc... American will really begin to fear. When we are afraid to let our kids go to school in the morning, then they will have accomplished what they set out to do. Presently, how much fear does someone in Bowling Green, KY or Hamlet, NC really have on a day to day basis? Unless they're planning a trip to NYC or LA, it probably doesn't occur to them too much.

The guys in Beslan, and now this.... THIS will get people to thinking. If they are smart, that is.

Hell, the damned illegal aliens already burned 1000 acres of AZ forests so far this summer igniting their signal fires. A lot of good the legal right to carry did against that threat.

Think again about Bisbee, Nogales and Tucson deaths, Vic.

You've forgotten about the 5th generation AZ Rancher named Barnett who was convicted for detaining under citizen's arrest the illegal aliens trespassing on his ranch while awaiting the arrival of the proper authorities. Even the US military intelligence installation in southeastern AZ near the Mexican border posts signs reminding Americans of the illegal aliens passing through camp indiscriminately without being apprehended. For all the US PC military camps and forts adjacent to Tucson, yet the Mexican cartel drug lords own the outskirt hills above and shoot at the law enforcement as well as US citizens who "trespass" on public lands too close to organized crime's fortress. Hell, Loughner was reported to frequently run into that outskirt of Tucson desert alone and disappear for long periods of time.

As for border towns in Texas, the 6th generation Texans from Brownsville say that given how things work there (despite Perry's sternly written letters to Obama), it's a required custom to tolerate the flow of illegal aliens through private property. I joked after a salesman told me of his wealthy father's habit of leaving food and water on the outskirts of his property so as to dissuade thieving, that he practiced strategic charity.

Finally as a side note, the US/Mexico dual citizens of Chihuahua are routinely massacred and not one word of outrage from our State Department on their families' behalf while Mexico refuses to provide either police protection or special permission for these dual citizens to protect home life with firearms. The fathers teach their children to have nothing to do with the cartels. So the cartels break down doors, rape mothers and beat fathers, then kidnap the victims and murder them leaving their bodies to rot in the desert near the US Border. Bush & Bush didn't care any more than Clinton or Obama. Romney wouldn't say a peep despite his family that yet remains in Dublin Colonia. What an self righteous prick of an asshole it takes to be "acceptable" or be considered "winnable" for public office.

Bowling Green is the third biggest city in KY (about 60,000), home of the Corvette, and Gen. Simon Bolivar Buckner's headquarters. Al-Q might want to send two brigades.

Not what I'd call a helpless hamlet. Come to mention it, Hamlet has 6000 and probably isn't helpless either. The first black Marine officer lived there.
