— andy From today's senate debate on the debt ceiling. I particularly like the part where he pwns my senior senator Lurch Kerry (Dumbass-MA).
It's about 15 minutes long and worth every second.

Rubio will be POTUS at some point.
Just wanted to get myself on record. I know, I know, a bold and brave prediction.
For everyone who yearns for the next Reagan, and has been frustrated in trying to find him, your search is over.
Now we can focus on finding the next Michael Jordan. That might be a bit tougher.

Now Senator Rubio, isn't there a big difference between silly electoral posturing like Sen. Obama did when he shot off his mouth about opposing raising the debt limt while knowing his words were just to impress the peons, and voting against raising the debt limit now when that vote might actually mean something?

The whining about not getting our message out becomes a self fulfilling prophecy with the establishment repubs because they shrink from confrontation.
Rubio can articulate the Conservative message like no one since Reagan.
It was a beautiful thing to watch him toss Kerry aside like a 2nd team blocker for Obama/Reid.
He is fearless in debate and is just exactly what is needed Right Now.

Senator Rubio, my Senator, makes me so proud (for once) to be living in Floriduh. It has been a long drought since I was excited to vote for someone.
I loved every single minute of his speech. He puts the rest of DC to shame.
Wouldn't you like to see him vs Obama in a debate? Heck, Ryan vs Obama in a debate. Perry vs Obama in a debate. I would love every single minute of that as well.
The smack-down of John Kerry was spectacular, and he did it without batting an eyelash or pausing to think hard, or say, uh,uh,uh where's my teleprompter. I love Rubio.
The best line, and there were many, was on "compromise" and talking about Obama's non-plan: "How can you compromise with no plan?"

I live 10 minutes from the ocean, am surrounded by palm trees, sea food places, history, and the black dude from Hootie and the Blowfish.
I'm set.
Sounds good. I live 1/4 mile from the ocean, am surroundede by pine trees, sea food places, history .... and unfortunately for me John Kerry and Scott Brown are my senators.
Sigh. Just returned from a weeklong family reunion in Surfside Beach, SC. It was cooler there last week than in mass. Hope to join you full time some day.

You visiting
Stranger things have happened....
Come on up and I'll teach you how to hook yourself!
Thanks man. I might have to take you up on that at some point.
And any Moe Rons that find themselves here in the south, hit me up....I love to play tour guide.
I've been on the Ft. Sumter tour 100 times now, and it never gets old.

Yep. Lots of golf for the men and beach for the ladies. Just south of Myrtle. I like Murrells Inlet the best.

Nope, but am hella familiar. Am a Denver native.

Great area, I considered it before I moved. It's just up the highway from me, bout an hour.

McConnell was talking to Biden before he returned to debate and they're now talking about triggers (grain of salt because it's Chuck Todd). Also, as of 4hrs ago, Boehner's people said there was no WH meeting planned. Wonder if that changed? Never saw an update.
Another tweet RE Boehner from 3hrs ago:
@jacksonjk reports SpeakerBoehner has left the Capitol for the night. No White House meetings planned yet.

Not necessarily. Obama wants a deal before his birthday party. I think he's realizing that he'll take just about anything to get it.
But he's such a child, he thinks he can have his cake and eat it too.

Pablo and Kerry would have responded
In debt ceiling bills the Republicans plan was to take the very air our children breathe and fill it full of toxins , that's the republicans contribution to a bill.
Pelosi said it , we the Party repeat it.

Strange thing is that Boehner is rarely mentioned. I keep seeing information about Reid and McConnell but little-to-nothing about Boehner. The triggers were also mentioned by Sen. Horse-Face (did not know that, sorry) and several D.C. reporters.
Wonder where Boehner is?

I'd trust Boehner to negotiate more than McConnell....and that ain't saying much.
Posted by: Tami at July 30, 2011 06:40 PM (X6akg)
Too true. Also McConnell, being a senator, loves the idea of compromise within the Senate, without considering whether it hurts the House.
Boehner and Pelosi could have also sent their aides. We'll (obviously) know eventually.

"President gets full increase (up to 2.8T). Boehner gets his cuts. Not finalized, but here's the framework tinyurl.com/3p6pra5"
If this is true, Boehner has to ask the Conference before he proceeds.

Uh, what the hell are you talking about, willow? Rubio did a fabulous job, as he usually does. He just missed a chance to truly spike the ball, is all.
See, Kerry is talking about the DOOM of not increasing the ceiling while he's voted against doing it twice this week. That's one of those "I've got this thing and it's fucking golden." moments. I would hope Rubio is having a "Damn, I wish I'd said that!" moment.
Posted by: Pablo at July 30, 2011 06:55 PM (1fuCG)
Spending cuts of roughly $1 trillion
Special committee to recommend cuts of $1.8 trillion (or whatever it takes to add up to the total of the debt ceiling increase)
Committee must make recommendations before Thanksgiving recess
If Congress does not approve those cuts by late December, automatic across-the-board cuts go into effect, including cuts to Defense and Medicare.
Yep. Pretty much what I thought.
It's still interesting that you cannot find confirmation outside of ABC News. Are they sure? Or is this like the NYT debt deal reporting?
