— Ace Actually, I don't really get his plan here, but it took guts, whatever it was, and I guess it sort of worked.
Plans may be overrated anyway. As one of the criminals said in The Way of the Gun, "A plan is just a list of things that won't happen."

Indeed. Both guys had that look of total self-confidence, even if they were just making shit up as they went along.
I particularly like the smirk the second guy displayed when the police officer was acknowledging his skills at the presser.

Ho, that was the guy who robbed the store and on exiting ran across marines at a table collecting for a charity. He stabbed one of them in the back.
He "fell down" and broke both legs, a bunch of ribs, his teeth, and nose.

In any case, good plans or bad plans or no plans... a person does have to wonder if the chance of pulling on the wrong fellow will change the behavior of thugs at all. It might do so. I think that it's good to publicize these things so that the thought is put into the bad-guy's heads as much as possible. Most "dangerous" persons work to project that perception of danger with what they wear and how they act... I suppose it's a language to establish territory and warn off others of like mind.. but a former Marine isn't doing that, or other military vet isn't doing that. They're likely to look just like anyone else, to not be giving off the right sort of signals .

All around he did good, even impersonating as the anti Chas as bicycle boy would probably be hiding behind Charmutta's pants.

Or as Eisenhower said: "Plans are worthless, but planning is everything"

See!!!! Now there are even more Marines, and they're connected to a stabbing!! Jesus, we need to take these guys out - they're a menace to honest citizens everywhere!

If you Morons haven't seen this movie yet, you just got tipped off. Less than the sum of its parts, but worth watching. Lots more good quotes.

@25: "Maybe we should discharge all of our soldiers with a concealed carry permit and a nice weapon. If they want one."
We agree!

Go on......
Wait, how old again, please?

That's actually a seriously good idea.

The pony-tailed guy looks like a member of the IVAW, but he still done good.
That black guy had balls of freakin' steel. Even after his kids were safe he went after the douchebag.

Sets a scarily high bar for the rest of us vets.
Kipling had a poem, as a regular soldier speaking of Royal Marines:
"Once in a while, they can finish in style,
which I 'ope it won't 'appen to me."
