Mavs!
— Dave in Texas

Take Miami in 6 games, 4-2.

So there.

(actually I'm reminiscing like, 22 years ago or something like that, over the Lakers Western conference finals. Damn, that was a fight.)

Cardinal for MVP?  He was the enforcer for the Mavs and addressed their reputation for being soft.  He took out Wade in game 5, practically punched Bosh in game 6 and still took time off from punching opposing players to hit a couple of threes.

I love this guy.  He's like that slow, white boxer who always wears the shiny, green shorts because he's Irish.

oh and btw to all the Lebron haters who in turn become Heat haters, you guys might be setting yourselves up big time. look I get it that Lebron chokes and at this pace he's leaving w/ 0 titles. I myself as a Heat fan wonder if his choking habits will have the team come so close yet so far on the years to come like he did w/ the Cavs. but let's say Lebron does what Kobe did after 08. he comes back and he wins a title. then what? hate on Lebron for being...Lebron?

meh, i'm not saying I don't understand the anger/hatred of Lebron, just shocked that you folks really think he won;t be back on this stage. ask a guy who saw his team go up 2-0 and lose the Finals anyway. 5 years later he came back and won against the same team. his name? oh yeah...Dirk from the Mavs, the guy who just took down Lebron.

oh and last point on the Heat lost. the Heat may end up being the most dominant team in the NBA next year. Imagine, you set up an all star team to go ahead and win multiple titles. You start things rough but get in a rythym and end up the second seed w/ 58 wins. You go on to the Finals and built up a 2-1 series lead and then lose 3 straight and the Finals.

The Mavs should be congratulated on their win, but they may have just fucked over the NBA for next year - look at 2009 Lakers

56 LePippen fails...  This is the sweetest result for most neutrals since 18-1.

It will only get better when the post-lockout hard cap forces the Heat to get dismembered.

Posted by: someone at June 12, 2011 08:26 PM (DfAwB)

57 The real question now is, who will end up being suspended in the first half incident. Because, depending on which players get axed, the Mavs could be in HEEE-UUUGE difficulties in Game 7, with no way to stop LeBron scoring a hundred all by himself. And it's all too bad, because Cuban, loathe him or dislike him, gave Mavs management all the apps to turn this edition of the iNowitzi into a winner. But, none of us can avoid destiny, and the Heat have destiny writ all over themsel... wha ...wtf just happened there?

YRM, you are right.  The Heat will win next year*, but may have to give up Bosh to get a better starting PG and the necessaary role players.  In any case, they are too talented and, with the West in flux, represented by aging Spurs and Lakers teams, and OKC not yet ready, I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up winning 2 or 3 Finals in the next five years.

*Depending on the Knicks moves.

Posted by: LexisTexas at June 12, 2011 09:32 PM (Cn396)

68 In all honesty, I don't even hate LeBron. I'm a Bulls fan, my concern is on my team actually being healthy in the freaking playoffs next year.

Seriously, the Heat got too much love for beating an old Celtics Squad and a Bulls team that had their entire starting five playing with injuries. I give them credit, they probably would have won the series anyway. But their health allowed them to finish the series faster, and so people under appreciated Dallas dismantling OKC. Fantastic series.

I'm looking forward to next season, less games= less wear and tear on my damn players. Rose, Noah, Boozer and Deng were all playing hurt and I'm damn proud of them doing as well as they did. I'm sure YRM and I both know next year's ECF opponents already. It'll be Bulls and Heat again. Probably for the next 3 or 4 years.
