Medvedev: Russia's TEA Party Candidate
— rdbrewer

The government role in the economy has to be cut.

"The proposition that the government is always right is manifested either in corruption or benefits to 'preferred' companies," he said.

"My choice is different. The Russian economy ought to be dominated by private businesses and private investors. The government must protect the choice and property of those who willingly risk their money and reputation."

. . .

Medvedev said that the country must begin to tackle the problem immediately to avoid "the point of no return from the (economic) models that are moving the country backwards."

"Corruption, hostility to investment, excessive government role in the economy and the excessive centralization of power are the taxes on the future that we must and will scrap," he said.

This guy is awesome!

This is seen as a political speech and a challenge to the authority of murderous thug Valdimir Putin, who is currently awaiting the chance to run again for president. The Russian constitution limits a president to two consecutive terms. So it appears this "placeholder for Putin" wants to keep the job.

I hope he has some trustworthy bodyguards. And plenty of food tasters. Things are about to get real in Russia.

Added: Medvedev thanks Angry Birds creator for creating an occupation for a huge number of government officials who now know what to do with their time. Dude's funny too. Yeah, boyee . . .

TEA Partiers gotta stick together.

"The proposition that the government is always right is manifested either in corruption or benefits to 'preferred' companies,"

I don't understand what he means by that. Is he saying that, if the government were to pass some sort of mandate that all companies had to comply with but certain 'preferred companies' could be given, I don't know, like, a waiver, or something, out of the mandate, that would probably end in corruption?

I don't know. Seems pretty far-fetched. Maybe that's the sort of thing that used to happen in the old Soviet Union.

Pushing aside the mind's eye retinal combusion, LC brought up a couple interesting scenarios, I thought -- Weiner was such a slug and was at it for years, that Chelsea could've been a tweetee.  Notice, the wheels weren't set in motion for resignation until Huma got home and conferred with him.  Do you think she wanted to be married to a disgraced congressman?  He seemed to be digging in his heels until he talked to her.

The likelihood that more congressional tweeting offenders are walking the hallowed halls of Congress is good.  Maybe they didn't want to cast the first stone.

110 In the broader picture, this represents a very positive potential future. If Russia can finally join the West and become a "normal" western nation ... that would be the true end (and total victory for us) of the Cold War and provide a huge peace dividend. We still have huge #s of nukes pointed at each other.

Plus, we could then team up and kick the shit out of the jihadis and the chicoms! Bonus.

My observation is Russian chicks are shithot until the potatos catch up with  them. Then they become babushkas. Funny how that works. See Hawaiian, Guamanian, and Japanese chicks and aging. Dittos hot middle easter babes.

I think our plan is to play Chicoms against Russkies. Same thing we did in WWII with Germans and Russkies. Let them exhaust themselves and then clean up. BTW - Russkies are scared shitless about China and their common boarder.

It may sound good to hear this from Mr. Medvedev, but frankly, we should be opposed to this kind of right-wing social engineering, just as much as we should oppose left-wing social engineering.

Mr. Putin and I, on the other hand, can propose bold, solutions-oriented policies that will work!

Curious. It's all happened on Barry's watch...interesting. It's almost as if there are forces outside the cocoa warriors' little pint-sized mindthoughts.
