Morgan Freeman: Obama's Election Has Made Racism Worse
— Ace

Damn right.

Oh wait, he's saying racism has increased because of Tea Party resistance to Obama.

2008: If you don't vote for Obama, you're a racist

2012: See 2008

If, in late 2011, you are still arguing that a demonstrable incompetent is the greatest thing ever, and it doesn't matter that he's a failure in every single way, because Someone Else's Fault...

...aren't you sort of thinking with the Race Cortex of your brain?

Is there any reason to support Obama apart from his leftism or blackness anymore?

Sure, leftists should support him. Why would non-leftists support him? Because of all the fabulous achievements?

Nope! Just because he's black, so, you know.

Speaking of Racist... Remember when Woody Allen had sex with his kinda-sorta daughter?

Yeah, that made the news.

Why isn't anyone covering Morgan Freeman's interesting, um, arrangement with his step-granddaughter, whom he raised as a kid?

40 We knew that racism was going to be played BIG.  What else do they have?  His record sucks, his work ethic sucks, and nobody thinks he is doing a good job.  So, to spare Berry's feelings, they have to start preparing him for his monumental loss in the election.  I think they are saying this as much for Berry and his base, as they are to cause racial problems.  They can't come out and say he is a loser, they can't say they picked the wrong black (half) man, they can't even admit that there is a problem with him-the problem is with us.

BTW, I mentioned this in the last thread, but 2 other blogs I read (Newsbird.wordpress and Michelles Mirror) are both picking up on the SCOAMF label!

60 Wouldn't then the Left's opposition to Bush be racism, as well?

Apparently there is no honest reason for opposition to Obama.  He's a sheltered infant, and any word against him is some form of pathological hatred.  A black man, you see, can only be opposed because of the color of his skin, not because of the merits or failures of his policies.  No, a black man can only be judged on the color of his skin, and his performance is unopposable, save by bitter clingers with their troglodyte brains.

Really, who are the racists here?  They demonize their opponents and infantilize their own side.

93 @83 - exactly. Actually, I kind of (but don't really) give some black Americans a pass on these things because it appears to me that a lot of them constantly live in a world where they are always persecuted because of their race (in their minds, that is). It seems to me that it demanded equal opportunities (e.g., the right to drink at the same fountain as a white person, the right to sit anywhere they pleased in a bus). In fact, the civil rights leaders we admire from that era are very different from the race hustlers of today. They were actually fighting against a truly oppressive system and didn't whine but did what they had to do. They seemed to me to be very hardworking people who did what it took to ensure their rights. In contrast, today's race hustlers/racism entrepreneurs and their followers expect everything to be handed to them on a platter. And have you noticed that they always seem to fight for black people who've committed crimes or engaged in other bad behavior?

I'm not saying they are ALL dumb, but let's just say performers in Hollywood would not be the first group of people I would look to for deep insights on any important issues. As in never moving past the conflict.

Thomas Jefferson said it best: "We don't need no civil war. It feeds the rich while it buries the poor."

I think what Jefferson meant was that conflicts benefit a certain few who have an angle, some way to benefit from the conflict -- while the masses, thinking there's a gain to be had or some form of justice to be won, never gains anything.

So there's racism -- so what? If it's personal and not institutional, who cares? Black people can vote and go to school, and job discrimination is against the law. I swear, I don't know what else this conflict can achieve.

Do you really think so? If so, that would make me very sad.

In my (typically) snarky fashion I've been telling people since 2007 that, as my conscience is clear of racism, I had no need assuage any racial guilt by voting for "the black guy". And, although I mean it to be sarcastic and annoy my liberal friends, I do believe think there is a grain of truth to it. That in large measure white, liberal guilt swept him into the presidency. Less so in the general election and more so in the primaries. It seems that he beat Hillary less on ideology and more because first black president trumped first female president. That, and let's face it, he's far more charismatic than Hil.

I also enjoying musing aloud about how I long for Allen West to run and become the first black president. Because it's true. But mostly just because I like to watch heads explode.

254 The terms as I understand them: Assault rifle is a lighter-pill automatic or burst-fire rifle usually designed for military use. The lighter pill is mainly about allowing a soldier to carry more ammunition. (.223 or similar) 'Battle rifle' is an older style heavy-pill automatic rifle designed for military use that is also designed for durability and knock down power. (.30 06 or .308 or similar) 'Assault weapon' a nebulous term adopted circa 1995 for a civilian use semi-auto rifle that looks enough like a military assault rifle or battle rifle as judged by a combination of any two a list of arbitrarily selected features such as bayonet lug, magazine, folding/sliding stock, scope mounting rail, muzzle grip, flash suppressor, etc. The list and definition was created by the Supreme Court when the original assault weapons ban was shown to be so overreaching and nonspecific as to be unenforceable and the law was sunsetted so assault weapons ARE legal. And the law actually made them MORE in demand and use than they were before the law was passed because the law grandfathered in weapons made before it took effect and so lots of them were mass manufactured in anticipation of the law being signed so they could be legally sold with documentation. This also happened with magazines of a size larger than 10 rounds.

259 The Race Card is the most rapid-fire, all purpose, over used and abused, ad hominem and vapid weapon of smear, mass deception and diversion ever conceived by man. It is a weapon under which weak minds are servilely crouched and can be fired with the greatest of ease by even the most reason and integrity challenged, and in fact, was designed especially for use by them. It is void of justice. It is void of liberty. It needs no footing in rationality. It is, in plain and clear fact, similar to a lynching. It has no expiration date. It doesnÂ’t even appear to have a half life. There are those who theorize that it may continue to exist indefinitely in some form even after time itself has come to an end.

"scary guns they use in movies to be scary."

If only we could get them to fess up and use that specific term in the laws, at least everything would be more honest and straightforward. It would clear up so much confusion.

This one? S'ok.

That one? BANNED! Why? Cuz it has a plastic buttstock.  A black plastic assault buttstock, on the .22 semi-auto AR-15.

But the other one has a wood stock. It's like an old grandpa rifle. Couldn't possibly be scary. Thing probably needs to have musketballs shoved in the barrel or something. Hey, it's made out of wood, right?

262 Oh man is this bad.  I figured Freeman was one of the more down to earth types in Hollywood.  What a dipshit.  Racist?  Seriously?  Original.

I liked his new 'wormhole' series on science channel until the episode which was about psychic powers and already debunked pseudoscience. Global consciousness project?  Thats Art Bell stuff.

I had no idea that this freak was screwing his own granddaughter.  Dude?  Even with no blood relation that is so wrong on so many levels... wonder what else he's done in his life with a similar theme.  sick

265 Found myself discussing this very thing with the hubby this evening.  I realized that because Obama has made it pretty clear he's not interested in being President of ALL of America, I have just the tiniest misgiving about voting for even a conservative black in the future.  And I hate that I feel that way.  I hate it with the fiery hell of a million suns.  And I blame Obama.

266 I'm surprised Morgan isn't all down with the Herman Cain campaign. I mean, we finally have the chance to elect the first American black President, right?

267 -2nd draft- 213 Posted by: Chi-Town Jerry at September 23, 2011 06:34 PM " A regular citizen does not need an assault weapon. " 1.) "Assault weapon" is a made up term describing semi-automatic rifles that fire one bullet per trigger pull and then reload and re-cock the rifle. Automatic rifles are already illegal for civilians to own without a weapon dealer license and have been since the 1930's, along with explosive weapons. 2.) YOU don't get to arbitrate what regular citizens "need" nor does anyone need to convince you of anything in order to legally own a semi-auto rifle or handgun. YOU and your friends and colleagues don't get to decide the issue or impede those who want to own a rifle or handgun. You are just some preachy pushy irrelevant dude making little no-where plans for nobody. 3.) Assault weapons aka semi-auto rifles with a magazine are legal as are hand-guns no matter how much you moan about it. And there is no rifle-assault-weapon-pocalypse going on that needs any drastic reactionary law passed. The worst that has happened is that the FBI and DEA were intentionally telling arms dealers to sell guns to Mexican cartels to aid a sting and then forgot to sting. It sure LOOKS LIKE those guns were intentionally being sold to dangerous parties illegally to stir up a mess just to feed into a narrative to justify and encourage a resurgence of the anti-gun movement. " Might as well allow everyone to have rocket launchers, tanks, everything. " Do you have any real arguments because this is nonsense. Rocket launchers ARE legal. They are just a tube, a targeting device, and a firing mechanism. Rockets themselves are not legal because they have explosive warheads. Tanks are nothing but armored vehicles with some characteristics similar to earth-movers that ARE legal (though probably not road legal for someone with a basic driver's license) but the heavy mounted weaponry that makes them a real tank of SFV is not legal. TOW missiles, 110mm guns, anti-personnel mines, active armor, and .50 calibre machine guns are all illegal for civilians. But the basic vehicle probably is not illegal since armored cars and bulldozers are legal if not legal to drive on a street. " Being against assault weapons in the hands of the general public is not being a "gun grabber", it is being smart - " No it's not smart at all. It's being an arrogant uninformed consumer of childish propaganda. It's being ignorant of what the term 'assault weapon' means and extremely presumptuous about the value of your own silly pronouncements. You ARE a would-be gun grabber. A lame euphemism or a sad premise used as a justifying excuse changes nothing of substance about your status as a gun grabber. And gun grabbers are not smart. They are liars, ciphers, and poltroons. "unlike the idiots who think they have a right to any weapon invented. " You mean the silly straw man idiots that you totally made up to sound like you were holding back a crisis with your silly bullshit? ? It's a false dilemma my son. You don't want people to have legal semi-automatic rifles because if they have them then they'll want illegal 110mm field guns, land mines, and cluster bombs? What kind of a trolling delusional idiot are you? Who buys that crap-stain of an argument? Sheesh!

Actually Tanks are legal. I knew a guy who owned a Renault light tank in running condition, an R-17 I believe. Once attended a swap meet/militaria show at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. There were at least two armored vehicles for sale - a Daimler Dingo and a Humber.

Here in Connecticut there was a guy who used to drive an M-8 on the road. That is a six wheel armored car that originally mounted a 37mm cannon (one and a half inch gun).

273 Half of Hollywood? I think that it describes 95% of it.

You see a pretty girl in a scene?
She did all sorts of shameful things to get there. Guarantee it.

You see a pretty guy in a scene?
Well, you're just gay if you think a guy is pretty.

275 He's half right. Racism has increased. For the first time in my life I'm hearing and reading some really nasty stuff  that hasn't been brought up since segregation. Whenever I read Steve Sailer, (granted Sailer attracts oddballs to begin with), Blaze or Newsbird I'm horrified. Folks, black people didn't give you Obama. If every black voter had gone to the both twice that still wouldn't have been enough numbers. White voters, women in particular, gave us Obama.
