Moron Playoff Thing Update and NFL Trash Talkin Thread
— Dave in Texas

I'm behind my time, and owe everyone an update on the playoff fantasy thing that CDR M was kind enough to put on for us all.

So here 'tis.

1 sfla's Entry 198
2 waelse1 195
3 aaronrodgersismyhomeboy 187
4 CDR M 185
5 thebotnet 180

So consider this a pre-game pre-shit talkin playoff thread. Packers-Bears at 3 EST, Steelers-Jets at 6:30 EDT. I'm pickin the Pack by 9 and the Steelers by 6. Superbowl, Packers over the Steelers by 12.

You may have noticed during the football pickem thingy I kinda really suck at this. YMMV.

ALSO: Latest non-controversy controversy. Does he or doesn't he?

Only his hairdresser knows for sure.

Full disclosure. My hair (on my head) is not grey, and I still have it. I may have dodged the baldness bullet. Time will tell.

ALSO ALSO: via SWeasel, what's tackier, having a 50 year JFK logo, or the logo itself?

That's a stumper ma'am. TOTUS sez "NOOOOOOOO."

2 Sorry, Bears fans, but you are cursed.  No self-respecting conservative will be rooting for your team tomorrow knowing that their victory will lead to Obama's happiness and, worse still, appearance at the Super Bowl.

Pack all the way.

Then Steelers.

Mark Sanchez is now tied for the record for most road wins by an a QB in NFL history and he is a 24 year old 2nd year starter. They tied for the league lead in road wins at the end of the regular season. Including the playoffs, they lead the league in road wins. They have already beat Peyton and the Colts and Brady and the Pats on the road in back to back weeks. They beat the Steelers in Pitt a couple weeks ago. I like our chances.

Posted by: Chicago Jedi at January 22, 2011 06:40 PM Yeah, I don't give a damn about any f-ing Obama curse. There is no way in bloody hell that the Bears are gonna allow the CrumbPackers to celebrate a trip to the Super Bowl in Soldier Field. No way in bloody hell. The Bears D is gonna put Rodgers' ass on the Soldier Field grass so much that he'll be doing his post-game press conference from the ice tub. The Bears D, Martz and Cutler are going to come to play against the CrumbPackers and the Bears are gonna shut up all the so-called "experts" who have been singing the praises of the overhyped, overrated CrumbPackers since Week 1, when they have earned none of it. Their WRs drop passes and fumble constantly and when Rodgers is in close games, he doesn't get the job done (Exhibit A: playoff game @ARI last season where he missed a *wide open* Jennings that would have won the game in OT). I expect Peppers to do his best Richard Dent impression and throw Rodgers around like a rag doll as Dent did to Phil Simms in the '85 playoffs. This Bears team has a chip on its shoulders, as the experts have been praising the CrumbPackers and dissing the Bears all season long. And now they put the CrumbPackers as road favorites. Yeah, that's not gonna sit well. Just as it didn't sit well in 2006 when the same 'experts' picked the Saints to win in Soldier Field. The Bears will be out to make fools of all their critics tomorrow afternoon. Super Bowl: Bears-Steelers

What's a bitter Eagles fan/ AOS Moron to do?

In the AFC...Don't want the Jets to win, we hate New York. We hate the Giants more, of course, but still....there will be a million more trash-talking Jets fans, out of nowhere, on Monday if they win. But we also hate Pittsburgh. Yeah, we're in the same state. They're also 300 miles away. 9 other states are closer. The Stillers and Pens have won enough recently. Yes, we resent it.

In the NFC, the Pack knocked us out of the playoffs, but we sort of expected that. Rodgers isn't a dick like Favre was. So, I guess I pull for them. I wouldn't root against the Bears except for You-know-who in the White House. Nothing personal;, Bears fans, but Lord Zero insists that he's a huge fan of all of your sports teams, except the Blackhawks I guess. I want to see his kiss-of-death streak continue.

Yeah, I've heard of them. The Eagles and Steelers combined franchise for one seson during WWII. It saved both franchises.

We have quite a few Pittsburgh expats living in the Philly area, and it does get annoying when they go around lording over us with their terrible towels and Stanley Cups. ( I work with a few of them) And they pretend that baseball doesn't exist because the Pirates have sucked for so long and the Phils have been a powerhouse lately. But overall, I guess, they're not nearly as obnoxious as the "life-long" Jets fans that have suddenly sprung up around here. I guess I can pull for the Stillers...this week.

100 Thank God, I thought I was the only one that thought fox turned into the Gabby Giffords network. I feel bad for anyone that has been shot by a fucking crazy but WTF. The Woman is a traitorous fucking libtard. Blue Dog? Give me a fucking break. She is just as responsible for the mess this country is in as any of those other Dem and GOP cock suckers. Oh, that's right. Her baby daddy is a fucking Astronaut. Is he an American Hero? Yep. Apparently Space does something to your brain so you don't notice that your life partner's political party wants to make your job a technology embassador for the blood cult muzztards. Get well soon Gabby, oh yea, and fuck you. Go Bears!

101 I am proud the Steelers are playing the Jets for the championship.  It is enlightening that they step up and compete on equal footing with all these folks.  Never mind their personal lifestyles or predilections.

In the spirit of good sportsmanship, let's send a big shout-out to the Jets and their fans:  you go, girls!

And they pretend that baseball doesn't exist because the Pirates have sucked for so long and the Phils have been a powerhouse lately.

Oh, we know baseball exists, its just the Pirates season usually ends in June. There just isn't any reason to care.

Steelers-Bears in the Super Bowl. GO STEELERS!!!
