Brady is 8 for 13 with three smitings.
Tebow called a trick play in which he turned the ball into a serpent.
Earlier in the game, there was an Elevated level of gay-bashings, mosque-burnings, and immigrant deportations, as the Broncos were leading the Patriots and making Brady look pretty average.
But the Broncos have fumbled thirty-seven times in a row (estimated), and now trail by 11.
So, if you're a gay Muslim, you have a limited opportunity to run out to the grocery without a high threat of ecstatic bloodletting.

Dude, it's all part of the plan. If they don't trail, how can Tebow lead a comeback?
I wouldn't say the mosques or gays are safe until the clock reads all zeros.

Nah, they'll just be going "See! He can't win when he's playing against a Real NFL team" insulting those other 7 teams that were beaten by Denver with him as QB.
No one wins every game (Right Green Bay) and this was a game I expected Denver to lose. I think they've still got a better shot at finishing at the top of their division than SD and Oakland though.

There is a great deal of difference between a riot and a defensive action, such as the first four crusades. Then there is the matter of heresy, which was as much a threat to civilization as to religion in times past. I think you read history with a bit of anachronism.

When a sports team or athlete, and this is especially true in baseball, has a long losing streak or a player has a long hitting drought, the players will hit the town looking for the least-attractive women then can find, and try to sleep with them. Somehow, this is supposed to earn them good karma and break the slump.

The Moslems did not beleeve in Globul Warming and yet the European Union changed their mind. It didn't turn it out too good for Joos, but when has that ever happened?

I don't think the Inquistions are much of riots. That was a case of the church looking into claims of heresy by Catholics mainly due to Jewish converts still being accused of following Judaism instead of Catholicism. And it only really got out of hand when the monarchy in Spain got into control, and settled down once the church again gained oversight. It really cut down on the witch burnings in Spain which were all the rage across Europe at the time too.

Three consecutive fumbles is (and 17 points off turnovers) is sort of hard to recover from.
Yeah, as a lifelong Bronco fan, I'm actually feeling better about the Timmy Touchdown era after today. (Love him, but I've been a moderate skeptic of him over the long hall)
A couple bad penalties, and two terrible fumbles prevented this from being a close game/Denver win.
Tebow has done some things today that show he is really progressing as a qb.

They're down. It was already long. If he throws it away its definitely over. If he keeps scrambling, maybe there's a spot for him to turn upfield and it just didn't come. Its not like it was a 2nd and 10 and they're down by 6 when he did that.

The funny thing is that Nantz and Simms have been wrapping up the broadcast emoting over how well Tebow played today.
So the old mode was that we were supposed to be impressed with Tebow when his stats (and form) sucked against crummy teams because he just managed to win.
And now it's that we're supposed to be impressed by him in a losing effort because he looked better?

Because they were winning games, and a 300 yard passing game doesn't mean squat if you don't get the W. I don't think anyone has really been looking at him as an elite QB at the top of the NFL. Its been a sense of "How in the hell are they winning?" And they have been winning as a team. But what happens on offense is important. And one single player can affect the whole team. And well if they are playing the bottom half of the NFL and winning well that puts them right around the middle, which would be about where I would have put them anyways. San Diego might not appreciate being told that though.
I know Y-not is pointing out how some have been wanting to credit Tebow with the wins when it should be the kicker (but the kicker doesn't win last week's game without that Touchdown pass) but the commentators have almost always been talking about how Denver is winning more because of their defense and special teams than the offense. You can expect a lot of them to be talking this week about how Tebow lost.

But somehow the rest of the Broncos became confident that they could win. I do believe that's because of Tebow's leadership and winning attitude. When athletes feel like they have a real shot at winning, they play harder. It's hard to argue with a 1-4 start under Orton, followed by a 7-2 streak under Tebow.
You can argue that the Broncos' post-Orton opponents haven't been very good, but they've played several .500+ teams since Tebow took the helm. And I really don't think you can argue that Orton would've led the Broncos to anywhere near as many victories.
Tebow may not seem like a great quarterback by conventional standards, but he's done a lot to improve his team. I still think he's just what the Broncos needed.

You weren't Mr. Superficial Analysis, you were using Denvers schedule to beat them up with. The only decent team the Patriots have played all season (Pittsburg) kicked their ass. I would include Denver in the decent teams but you wouldn't buy it because you know, they only play lousy teams, like the Patriots.

Fine... but remind me where I was bragging about the Pats strength of schedule...
You weren't. You just pointed out how the Broncos schedule was against lame opponents. With that omission you were trying to make a point. Your point was a poor one with that omission.

I thought he was going to end up as a TE in the NFL, so even getting to be a starter at QB is impressive to me.

Nah, I kind of doubt that. I think he'll definitely improve in passing though, and he'll always be a running threat. I think he'll eventually be an above average QB.

Yeah they won't stop talking about them. The AFC West is still a bit up in the air. And they can now let some of their derision of Tebow slip back in. So they'll keep talking about him and much of it will be "see what happens when he faces a 'real' team."
Posted by: buzzion at December 18, 2011 04:47 PM (GULKT)
And, damn, GT, Welker is cuter than most puppies. Check out some pics.
Buzzion, the one (probably only) cultural advantage to being on the left coast is that I can watch the game and then watch Survivor. I love Ozzie (he's a dogtown boy) but I will pretty much settle for anyone but that flaming asshole "Coach." He makes my skin crawl. I want to see him weeping and flailing and causing himself physical harm. (whoa, I should probably dial that back, but hey fuck it)

That's the only reason Tebow didn't win the game in the last 2 minutes against the Patriots who ONLY play skanky teams. He didn't want us all going out murdering and burning.
That's one of the problems with a religious quarterback.

I just happen to believe that they're in exactly the same spot as they would be if they had they're other QB, the one that beat the packers today
What is the future for Orton? I don't think it looks that good. If the Chiefs 1st string QB was healthy, do you think Orton would have a job. Only with another team whose 1st string QB was injured. Hell, I'm glad Orton has a job and is doing well, but he will only be a backup.
Are you related to Orton? Do you have a relationship with him or ar you just using him to bash the Broncos?

You mean the quarterback who held the packers to 14 points today? The lowest amount they have scored all year? Yup he's hell on wheels on defense. He held Aron Rodgers to below 50% completions at 17/35. Orton was all over the field on both sides of the ball, amazing.
Jeebus.

"finally after this week we'll be able to stop talking about Tebow and can give our full attention to the magic of the Packers undefeated season"
LOFL. Honestly that's the bitch of it. I can't believe it.
The packers lose one.
Can't fault Tebow for losing one or two, here or there, when even the almighty Packers blow it on a bad day.
And the Raiders lose to Detroit. So it's a wash - Bronco's still on top and theirs to lose, the ever so mighty Kansas City standing in their way....
It went bad for the Denver on the field but right everywhere else.

Oh, well let me explain it to you. The games he won he came from behind in the 4th quarter, it's exciting. He made it happen. He got peoples attention because of it. Kind of like Elway in the two fourth quarter drives I have seen. People like it ok?
I watched him all through college because my daughter was in school there then. He has a history of buckling down and winning. You may not like it but that's his record.

They'll play another one or two again before next year, since they're looking pretty damn good for being playoff bound themselves.

The broncos lost to the Raiders week one, that is a split. But we gotta play the chargers (we beat them once) and the chiefs (they beat us) again, not feeling to good about that.

Darlin Peaches, may I remind you of the Raiders and Broncos coming from wild cards to Super Bowl Campions in the past. I'm not saying it's going to happen this year, but it does happen.

I am not arguing that the broncos with Tebow are not a much better team, they beat the Raiders ass, I am just saying, we did win one against them, and the afc west is still anyones to win, however I think the broncos or the chargers are looking like they are coming on strong at this point.

I fully expect the Broncos to be a one and done if they end up making the playoffs too.
I really think you're being unfair.
They have a very good shot at being two and done. It depends who the play. Lots of other marginal teams that made the playoffs in bad divisions.

Still very plausible they could give a good team a really really bad day before they're knocked out.
