16 ace, I don't know if you want to acknowledge it or not, but there is an undertone of racism among some in the right against Obama. You can even see it here.

People call Obama man child, or boy king, or such terms I've never heard applied to a white democrat.

People have been outright racist against Michelle Obama...calling her sasquatch, or moochelle, etc.

I would like to know what you think of that, if that is not racial?

This stuff is dangerous and irresponsible and it is being conducted on behalf of a "historical" president who doesn't feel it necessary to pull them back even an inch. Prepare yourselves. In Aldous Huxley's dystopian futuristic novel Brave New World, society has abandon worshiping God in favor of their new god, the inventor of the new technological world, Henry Ford.  Since Ford is the new god, swearing must also be amended so rather than saying "God Damn it" people would say "Ford damn it!"  Huxley may have been right about abandoning god but he chose the wrong replacement god.  The progressive's replacement god is not Henry Ford with this Gaia killing mobile exhaust producers but rather Charles Darwin, the man who didn't talk about killing God (like Fredrick Nietzsche did) but actually killed Him and all of his right/wrong good/evil  moral philosophy.  Therefore we should begin swearing by taking Darwin's name in vain.  "By Darwin!"  "Charles H. It is a weapon under which weak minds are servilely crouched and can be fired with the greatest of ease by even the most reason and integrity challenged, and in fact, was designed especially for use by them. It is void of justice. It is void of liberty. It needs no footing in rationality. It is, in plain and clear fact, similar to a lynching. It has no expiration date. It doesnÂ’t even appear to have a half life. There are those who theorize that it may continue to exist indefinitely in some form even after time itself has come to an end.

There is one party that insists on classifying people by accident of birth: the Democrats.  This was true when they were overt racists, and it is true now when they push for race based quotas and ALWAYS see racism in benign statements (eg, the big black cloud).

The other party insists on classifying people by their accomplishments.  That's the Republican party, and they have been consistent in arguing that people should be judged not by the color of their skin, but the content of their character.  That includes Lincoln, MLK, and Steve Perry.

Lincoln, a republican back then, would've been a democrat today. The democrats in lincoln's times are today's republicans. That's simply fact.

The reason that is weapons-grade stupid is that, looking at his speeches and writings on slavery, the closest thing they remind one of in contemporary politics is the abortion debate. Not to start a war here (or even to talk about his going to see My American Cousin), it's very, very likely that Lincoln would view the abortion issue as the equivalent of slavery, and he would be passionately pro life.

Before we get all Kumbaya:

"Still his excellent piece brought to mind an episode that played out on national TV during the Rodney King riots in 1992, when Damian ‘Football’ Williams and three of his ‘hoodie’ cohorts callously bashed in 33-year-old truck driver Reginald Denny’s head, as the nation watched in horror. After smashing a 25 lb cinder block into Denny’s skull, Football Williams literally danced in the street.

The reason OrletÂ’s essay brings this to mind is because of the astonishing reaction WilliamsÂ’ mother had when she realized her son was being charged with attempted murder in the crime. I take authority over you in the name of Jesus! or something to that effect, WilliamsÂ’ mother cried, as though their poverty excused a little “acting out.” Football Williams was a member of the Eight Tray Gangster Crips. He received a “slap on the wrist” for his racially motivated crime, and upon his release from prison promptly and viciously murdered another man."

Nothing a 12 gauge in the head wouldn't cure.

212 I predict that within 20 years 'racist' will have more meanings than 'fuck' does.

Go type "racist against" into the Googles. Two of the top ten search suggestions wonder if you mean to look for "racist against gays" or "racist against religion."

Those suggestions aren't artifacts of "racist against [non-race-related thing]" jokes (though many of us have made those jokes, for quite a few years). Those are just people under 35, talking how they talk, thinking how they think—hundreds and hundreds of millions of times. Two of the top ten!

See, we've manufactured about two and half generations of really intensely obedience-schooled social-disciplinarian idiots, who don't know shit but they know they hate you—and "racist" is their word for whatever you are.

The Age Of Those Idiots is starting now. And it's gonna fuckin' blow. Unprecedentedly.

253 "Associating a white person with a monkey is not racism, however derogatory it may be."

I have a simple test for gauging the permissibility of political discourse:

If an expression is within the bounds of permissible political discourse when it is applied to George W. Bush, then it is within the bounds of permissible political discourse when it is applied to Barack H. Obama.

The criticism of Obama here is far, far milder than what was said about Bush. We could start with the charge that he engineered the murder of 4,000 American on 9/11 for ... something, I forget what. The vile imagery applied to him, the vitriol spilled forth about him day in and day out ... hell, it makes the AoSHQ look like a meeting of the Emily Post society.

One small anecdote: I was walking along the Chicago lakefront in 2004, and passed a young woman pushing a stroller with a child in it. And this young woman was wearing a T shirt that proclaimed, in huge letters, "I HATE GEORGE W. BUSH". And everyone passing by her just accepted it, like the shirt was referring to her favorite band. Now, honestly: Can you imagine someone - anyone - wearing a shirt like that, but referring to Barack Obama? And, having it go without comment? Neither can I.

Calling Obama "the boy king" has nothing to do with his race, and everything to do with the fact that he frequently behaves like a petulant child. There are many forms of racism: and the most prevalent among the chattering classes is the assumption that white critics of Barack Obama are racist.

So, you want the razzing to stop? Then tell your guy to man up and act his age. Until then, you can bloody well deal with it.

I doubt I need to repeat it but I will. It's not the skin color; it's the ideology. I wouldn't hesitate a moment to vote for Tim Scott, Allen West or Marco Rubio for President. You couldn't bribe me to vote for Harry Reid, Howard Dean or David Axelrod, no matter what the price. Or Barack Obama.

I'm tired of this garbage after only a few weeks. Sick and tired, doesn't even begin to describe it, actually. What it is producing is utter, overwhelming disgust with this method of attack, and a firm determination to crawl naked over broken glass, if necessary, to vote in 2012.

I expect it to get worse. And I think the backlash is going to shock even those in the Beltway. I don't think they have a clue of the magnitude of what is headed for them next year.

So keep pushing the race card, guys. You're digging your own political graves.

270 Related: Administration claims Rush Limbaugh caused Boehner to move joint session

The White House was not pleased. In reality, it believed, Congress really had never gone out of session, a parliamentary move that blocked Obama from making recess appointments. “And they had to arrange security?” the White House source scoffed. “As if they couldn’t do that! This was a political thing, a tea party thing, a Rush Limbaugh thing. They were all giving Boehner gas.”

The White House did not want to give in and look weak, but what was the alternative?

An Oval office speech instead?

“You can’t speak for 40 minutes from the Oval Office,” the source said.

275 281 More:

At 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, the White House tweeted the news about the joint session. “And then Rush Limbaugh beat Boehner up,” the source said.

The conservative talk show personality was in his familiar state of high dudgeon. “This is a pure campaign speech and to give it the imprimatur of a speech before a joint session of Congress, there’s no way, he doesn’t deserve that,” Limbaugh said. “Boehner’s got to say no. Now, whether he will, I have no clue.”

A number of Republicans in the House and a few in the Senate did have a clue and they told Boehner that while they would allow the joint session – it was hard not to for both historic and political reasons – the timing had to be on their terms, which meant it could not conflict with the Republican debate.

Indeed, but this new Politico piece takes it to a whole new level. The conclusion is absolutely childish:

I think this might be one of the positives to having Boehner as Speaker.  Apparently they just cannot demonize him on his own to anyone beyond their most liberal clueless supporters.  So they need to connect Boehner to someone that they can demonize and shift scorn to like Limbaugh.

Nope.  Republicans--conservatives--have always been in favor of getting government out of the way of the individual's right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness--from the Civil War to this day.  Republicans put  forth every single Civil Rights legislation since Emancipation, and when the CRA and the VRA came up for a vote, Republicans voted for them in far larger majorities than was so for Democrats.  These days, Republicans want the government out of the way every individual's life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

Democrats have always been in favor of keeping black Americans oppressed and dependent, whether the  masters are individual persons or the government.  But after the CRA and the VRA, Democrats couldn't get away with overt oppression of black citizens  so they found an ingenious method of enslavement:  helping black citizens to believe that government largesse was their right.  Through the promotion and paying off of black leaders, through (mis)education put forth by the NEA and through the subsidizing of the dissolution of the black family was this grand scheme of re-enslavement (nearly) achieved.  (BTW, the present-day mis-education is a mirror of the legal proscription against teaching black slaves to read)

Now the Democrats want to extend the bondage to the entire population, regardless of race.  They merely thought that putting forth a president of African descent would make the medicine go down easier.

The Democrats: ever the Party of slavery.  That's your party, proudonkey.

315 The gratuitous use of the race card has exceeded the bounds of mere cliche and entered the realm of self-parody.

Do they actually think anyone is listening anymore, let alone taking them seriously?

This kind of nonsense used to make me angry because of how insulting it was, not only to conservatives and libertarians, but to the intelligence of anyone unlucky enough to hear it.

But now it's gone so far beyond pale that they aren't insulting people like me anymore, but making fools of themselves instead.

I almost miss the days when leftists actually pretended to have valid arguments to make. I miss their intricate sophistries because at least those arguments had a patina of legitimacy to them. This crap is such obvious nonsense it isn't even worth taking the time to debunk as only a total fool would listen to it.

I'm reminded of the Ghost Dancer movement among American Indians in the late 19th century. Defeated and broken, some groups devolved into a cult based on circle dancing whose adherents believed would bring back the buffalo and end the expansion of the United States. I don't know what kind of things the Indians chanted, but the chant from the left seems to be "Racism Racism Racism!"

It isn't going to work for them any better than it did for the Indians.
