In a handful of biographies from years ago, mostly written by Europeans, Gadhafi is almost always described as being born in a tent in Sirt, the son of a poor, illiterate Bedouin sheepherder and his wife.

But the hushed-up rumors in Libya about Gadhafi's parentage involved his mother being Jewish. The stories have conflicted over the years, and the narratives are different. I'm not sure a threat to attack the rebels we're supporting is necessarily a bad thing. We need them to keep it clean.

Kdaffy was no longer a threat to the west--W used soft power to end his ties to terrorism and WMD research. So attacking him now is actually against US interests if we ever hope to convince bad actors to reform without direct war with us.

So let me get this straight...

Qaddafi must go, so we're sending in our military, who won't actively try to remove Qaddfi.  Instead we're relying on local rebels to do so after we enforce a "no fly zone" that includes bombing non-flying tanks and artillery.  The rebels are fighting civilian both Libyan regular forces and civilian militias hired by Qaddafi, but if the rebels kill them they'll be bombed too.

You gotta love the fact that the 2009 nobel peace prize winner is blowing up parts of a member of the human rights commission.

Yeah, the best part of that show was when Kenzie was with the bad guy in that huge, cavernous wharehouse, and he was able to just climb up a conveniently placed ladder to retrieve exactly what he was looking for. 

I didn't like that episode much--the part where Heddy watched the bad guy just cold bloodedly murder his cohort, and she refuses to have him picked up for murder because there's a greater national security issue at stake--I didn't find real believable. 

My favorite character on that show is Deeks.  He gets all the good lines.

The problem though it that every attempt at this case has been decided on terms of 'Standing'... ie you must proove that you will be damaged or you cannot bring suit.

So, he had to wait until he was ordered to do somthing which 'could' damage him... and then he could question the validity of the order...

Problem is, it was a Military Court, not Civilian Court... so while he had 'standing', the court did not allow his arguement even into court... which was interesting based on the outcome of the Nuremburg Trials, the My Lai case, AND the current training which says you should NOT follow illegal orders...

So... the precedent was just set that you should not question the validity of orders, until AFTER you have complied with said order??? or that you can question the order, but then have to do it anyway?

Whole things a mess... but I lay it at OBAMA's feet... he could have easily just released his documents...

But based on the fact that he could not even present his defense, I still contend that the Military Chain of Command is in the tank (or at least the Legal Beagle parts of it).

I think you miss the point of this whole thing.

Once people decide they like someone, and vote for them, they will continue to vote for them even when they do a poor job as they do not wish to admit they were wrong.

We need to PROOVE that Obama was telling lies to them before the election... so its not their judgement in question, but that they were lied to.

Thus, questions of his background and story ARE important, even if it never makes it to a court of law.

It's better to lose him here than on the budget.

I'd say we already lost him since he is now saying the GOP proposed cuts are "irresponsible".

OMG so I'm talking to my friend in LA online and she says "well I have my bag of popcorn so I'll know if the radiation is dangerous".   So, I said "what does radiation have to do with popcorn" and she types "well, I met this guy saturday night and he told me that he was a nuclear physicist and that the best way to tell if there was too much radiation in my apartment is to leave a bag of popcorn on the kitchen counter and if it started to pop I would know I have a problem".

Thank God it was not video chat.  So I told her she might want to double check that and gave her the link to here and told her to read all the posts on here about that.
