Okay, so that's not the ad that Rick Perry released. However, it is effective, in my pants.
In related news, [insert sound effect].
Here's the actual ad, I guess for women, children, and homosexuals:
Thanks to JohnE. for the real ad, but thanks so much more to LauraW for the fake ad.

17- I think he can, but he is going to have to have some legitimately good debate performances. I don't know if he has to win, he may, but he has to place, (and show isn't good enough).
I think he had enough handicaps in the first debates that there is considerable room for improvement (back surgery, dealing with wildfires, being basically the only candidate who has responsibilities that aren't summed up by "running for president).
From everything I have heard, he is the only non-Romney who has a strong organization in Iowa (maybe Bachmann??), I think he can win Iowa, IF he can get his poll numbers up enough to keep people from not voting for him just because "he can't win." He doesn't have to be the frontrunner, he just has to be a legitimate choice.

LetÂ’s wait until after tonightÂ’s debate to see if Perry builds on his record of stellar performances.
If he holds true to form, heÂ’ll attack Cain for being a sex-crazed woman molester and then jump on Newt for divorcing his wife because she was in the hospital with cancer. Then, since he already confirmed that republicans are heartless, he will probably accuse the audience of being racists too.
Then again, he may have grown a brain by now. IÂ’ll hold off judgment until tomorrow.

Remember, not all urls are nice- they can point to places that will download viruses and such. Using URL Shorteners doesn't help a whole lot, but it's better than nothing, and fits quite well with ace's lazy-fair attitude.

Perry actually appears to mean it when he says he has values. I realize there is so much cynicism these days that most folks here will find that completely impossible. How could there actually be a politician that thinks like that? No, it must be some kind of clever game. What kind of game is actually having values?
Some will even view this as weakness. Perry sucks as a prime time politician! Those 30 second debate points were lame, and who cares that Perry is a great interviewer and has a 95% conservative record? He's obviously stupid because he doesn't rattle off memorized BS at the drop of a hat like the guy who has been practicing for this for five years... unemployed while Perry was leading a huge government instead of worrying about presidential aspirations.
Hmmm.
I admit I'm a more than a bit biased here, but I find Perry's yokel dokel plain spoken attitude and his convincing record to be excellent qualifications. I am sick and tired of the JFK - Obama era of men being elected for no reason other than how much cooler they look on TV.

33 - one horrible state bankrupting bill with your name on it
I assume you are talking about the in-state tuition thing, which was scored by the legislature as having ZERO economic impact. Why?
There is absolutely no money paid out because of in-state tuition. All that it means is that some illegal aliens who meet certain qualifications, one of which is that they must be pursuing a path to citizenship, which Herman Cain supports, don't have to pay out of state tuition.
So what makes more economic sense? Giving them a slightly cheaper rate of tuition and helping them to keep off of the dole? or paying for them to be on the dole for years?

121 - Those absolute numbers don't do much, especially considering they are over 10 years, and don't factor in Texas's population and economic growth.
What is important is that each budget Perry has signed has been balanced, and that he cut spending this year, not by increasing less than expected, but actually spending less than the year before.

Promotes infant health
Doesn't feed corporate profits
Comes in attractive, reusable containers.

The Cain supporters and the ace's of the world can calm down a little.
Cain is either going to get through this or not. He's either going to bring people into the campaign with more experience and skill or he won't. And the campaign will either have a steep learning curve or it will fail soon enough. I don't expect professionalism from an inexperienced campaign or skill from a political novice at this point. It would be a nice bonus but I don't expect it.
Same goes for Cain as a candidate. He'll either get his shit straight and learn or he'll flop out. There's plenty of time for that to happen.
Let's at least decide to make the choice on our own terms rather than jumping on whatever the MSM wants to talk about just because it's advantageous. Especially if it has to do with pooter. Besides that: bros before hoes.
I see three opponents here: the Dems, the Republican establishment, and the MSM. Siding with any one increases the odd of getting Mitt as our nominee. It's pretty obvious that they want Romney as the candidate.
If you're okay with that... gee thanks. And fuck you too. But if not let's take the time to see how these idiots perform and deliberate on our own terms.

Listen up, pukes, if that vaccine pusher RINO Perry is the nominee I'll be voting for Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Ted Kennedy, hell, I'll never vote for a Republican again. With Perry in the White House it would only mean that we'd be losing slower.

No kidding. Sheesh. Texas is growing like crazy. We're importing the educated from Cali and MA and NYC, and yet unemployment is stable, and even very low in several cities.
It's amazing. With the growth rate other states have, TX's unemployment should be in the 30s considering the massive and constant influx. And yet we have low unemployment AND a very high quality of worker. Competition, not desperation to hire anybody.
It sure isn't one guy's doing, and it's not even the government so much as what the government is not in the way of. But it's the right path, and it's why we don't want an ubermench to run the show... we want a humble principled leader who has managed this kind of thing and understands sometimes government is not the answer.
