— Ace I'd say that was a first for a press conference, wouldn't you? Audio here; I'm told that was a member of Howard Stern's Wack Pack.
So, in "coming clean," he lied a whole bunch of times, and continued to evade.
IT CONTINUES.
ABCNews Reveals the Latest Woman, Or Is She Even The Latest? One of May's two models (that we know about).
Breitbart #Hacks! press conference.
Chris Matthews: "He finally told the truth." He did? We're just accepting that? Again?
We're just believing him again, huh?
Let's See... All of the girls were "over 21" except for the Comely Coed?
And that was a... joke?
He sent her the same pic as a joke that he sends for cybersex?
That's odd.
I would have sent the cat pic, myself. Not the erection pic. But that's just me.
Goldberg's Reaction: Eh, giving a little too much benefit of the doubt.
Watching the press conference was extremely uncomfortable at the outset. He’s clearly humiliated and apologetic to his wife. I think his critics should acknowledge that much (though judging from the Twitter reactions, many do not).It was also good for him to apologize to Andrew Breitbart and “anyone else he misled.”
But thatÂ’s not what he did wrong to Andrew Breitbart and others. He encouraged people to make Breitbart et al into the villains in this story. The sin there is not misleading but a kind of bearing false witness, a variant of slander.
The tide turned against him when he was asked whether he knew if all the recipients of his communications were of legal age. I suspect that tide will not recede imminently.
When anyone gets caught and is faced with the stern glare of group disapproval, he cries. It's a natural human reaction. It might even be hardwired as some kind of submission/mercy reflex signal.
That doesn't mean he's sorry. It means he's sorry he got caught and has to go through this ordeal.
And the fact is, I can't say in that situation I'd be crying more for the people I'd hurt than myself. I strongly suspect I'd be mostly crying for myself. Not proud of that, but I make a point of being honest, except when it's in my tangible interest to not be.
So I don't rush to buy this "he's sorry" crap. Why? Because he squirted a few?
As for the girl's ages-- Good Lord, if the media goes to sleep on this one...
Headline: Weiner Didn't Communicate With Underage Girls... To the Best of His Knowledge. Well, that's just wonderful.
Color me relieved.

Sit down, sit down. Look at these pictures.
What's this a picture of?
Do you know how old the girl was you sent this to?
"To the best of your knowledge" she was over 21?
To the best of your knowledge?
Yes, you can go now.
But I have to warn you, there may be other men,
men outside, who have more questions for you.

Oh no
Breitbart appears to be vindicated.
I'm so embarrassed for Weiner, and for all of us who defended him.
................
I would have said no to apologizing to
Breitbart until he apologizes to ACORN, Sherrod, Planned Parenthood, as well as giving him the warning that he fucked with the wrong people.
................
DISASTER
one of today's great progressive voices is sadly diminished
................
Way to go, Congressman
Thanks for lying to us while we were busy defending you because we trusted you.
................
Jesus
And I defended him to my family. Ugh. This makes many of us look like fools, not just him.

Chuckles Johnson does his rendition of "The Rather"...
And I’ve been getting a flood of hate mail, much of it demanding that I “apologize” for something. So here’s my official response to this demand:
Not a freaking chance. If Weiner admits to sending the pictures in question, IÂ’ll be surprised and disappointed, but IÂ’m never going to apologize for calling it as I see it.
And IÂ’m certainly never going to apologize for pointing out that Andrew Breitbart is a sleazy fraudster, with a well-documented and very tawdry history of deception.
So to those demanding that I apologize: try holding your breath until you turn blue. Maybe that will do it.

From the ABC story:
Broussard's story had threatened to expose the secret online life of one of the House Democrats' most popular members, and a man many considered a leading candidate for mayor of New York City.
It also raised new questions about Weiner's explanation for how a photo
of a man's groin area ended up on his public Twitter feed on May 27.
Really, one of their most popular members? Feared maybe, but popular?
And does it really raise new questions, or does it make the MSM look like the bunch of pandering toadies they really are? Tomato, tomahto.

How many times have you masturbated in your congressional office?
When you are snapping one off, are you naked in your congressional Office?
If CSI would to look for bodily fluids in your congressional office, should they wear hazmat suits?
When you are snapping one off on the taxpayers dime, do you use taxpayer funded lotion and tissues?
That's all for today Mr. Wiener, we'll have more questions after this load.

Just a gut feeling....Shitstains statement was re-written while Breitbart was speaking and he knew he was fucked. I think the first tears were real, not due to his wife, but he finally saw his career and public life crashing down around his ears. Later tears were fake, notice how he started reverting to old self at the end before he was given the hand across the throat signal from one of his people.
Take away quote is re; "best of my knowledge" quote about the girls.
He thought he was being smart doing the sorta answer politicians give.
That will bite him in the ass; too many rumors of underage girls and the press in the room had heard them.

The money point was Weiner "did not know" if any of the girls are underage. It will be found that some were, but, "he didn't know."
Still, even with unethical and amoral Democrat behavior (keeping in mind when Republicans get caught they are forced to resign, as their power and brand are weakened and stained)...an "underage" girl he was perverting himself to may even get a few liberal Brooklyn voter's attention; and the Democrats like Pelosi will force his resignation. He is weakened. His liberal braying voice is now muted.
Yeah, "were you fully erect" is a new one for a press conference. While he may be a place holder for the next Dem from Brooklyn, he is effectively neutered for awhile. More to come...it is not over in spite of his apology and fake tears.
Keep fighting, y'all. Never, ever give up.

It seemed to me that being bold enough to send such a pic to a comely coed did not represent a spur of the moment, one-time deed. I felt certain it was a pattern with Weiner. But when no one else popped up for a day or two it looked as though I was mistaken.
Now I feel vindicated. He did it more than once and quite possibly several times. They are spilling out of the woodwork now and a few are going to cash in for their 15 minutes.
The only thing that mystifies me is -- nobody has sued him yet. Weiner is fortysomething and likes young things enough to reveal his, err, hard side. If he was just an average jack, there probably wouldn't be much anyone could sue for unless one of the receiving parties was underage. But Weiner is a Congressman and therein lies a basis for a sexual harassment claim.
Now that he's admitted it was all a self-made boner he's removed one hurdle from someone hoping to cash in.

Everyone is sorry when they are caught. Giving someone credit for being sorry after he was caught is silly. Sure, go harder on someone who shows no remorse, b/c they are demonstrating no human emotion and are likely truly evil. But to actually applaud someone, or give credit, for being "truly sorry" is setting a pretty low bar.
I would applaud him for being "truly sorry" if he resigned. Absent that, his sorrow is meaningless. Also, in situations like this, someone's remorse isn't the issue. His family may care whether he is truly sorry for what he did to them - it may help them forgive him. But why do we care if he is "truly sorry"?

Oh, and the girl from the ABC interview confirms that he used his congressional office to conduct this...er...business.
"
The relationship between Broussard and Weiner only ventured out of the digital world once, she said, when a man identifying himself as Weiner called by phone from a number associated with Weiner's New York congressional office on the afternoon of May 18.
"The day he called he just said, 'Who in the world would be acting like me?' laughing about it," she said.
"You're an internet rat, aren't you?" Broussard said she asked him, to which Weiner just sort of giggled.
Then, she says, the conversation got personal. "He heard her [Broussard's daughter] in the background, I think, and he said, 'Oh is that --' and then he said her name, and I said, 'yeah, it's her birthday,' and that kind of freaked me out because you had to pilfer through my Facebook to find out her name."
After they hung up, Broussard said she called the number back to see if it was actually him. A Weiner office receptionist answered, she said. Broussard provided a record of the call to ABC News. "

When people say "this is a personal issue, it's nobody's business" I call bs. Congressmen are privy to top secret material. By putting himself in the position he did he could have easily been blackmailed. If anyone has dealt with top secret clearances they know that this is more serious than just "now that I got caught please respect my family's privacy." Tiger Woods was a circus. This is much more disturbing in that Weiner put himself into a very compromising situation. Why doesn't anyone talk about this angle to the story?

Anthony Weiner is a narcissistic sexual pervert who preyed on unsophisticated and in all probability lonely females for his own personal gratification.
Anthony Weiner should not be given a pass on his behavior, but should be ostracized and castigated for his abhorrent behavior.

Chris Hanson's on the page!!!
When I was teaching in South Korea, one of the female teachers, came up to me before class and was teaching a Korean word. I asked her what it meant. She told me "You're pretty...tell the girls they're pretty." Puzzled, I looked at her and clarified, "You want me to tell the teenage girls in this classroom that they're pretty?" She nodded yes. And I'm thinking "Uh no. Cause I've seen "To Catch a Predator"...." and I don't know if South Korea has a show like that but I'm pretty sure if they did, this would be how it starts."

WTF Jonah Goldberg!! A "kind" of false witness?? Are you a complete incompetent moron? There are no degrees of false witness - you are either telling the truth or something less, which is BEARING FALSE WITNESS when you are attributing to someone else either directly or by your own silence or omission. And yes, slander falls under that "something less!"

His handlers have him do the "choke up a little bit, talk about your wife, need for rehab, SAY that you take responsibility, SAY the words "apologize"...and then LIE YOUR ASS OFF.
1) If the picture of the stubby was a "joke", what was the punchline...doing the full "elephant" with your pockets pulled out of your pants?
2) You had "bouta" six on that last hole? Anyone who plays golf ...like the current White House duffer...knows...that when a guy says he had a "bouta" six...it means he whiffed twice, his ball was out of bounds and he kicked it back into play four times.
3) He's sorry he "misled" anyone? No, if I tell you that asparagus tastes like chocolate, that's misleading you. If I say I was hacked, then say it was a prank, then fuel the fire that this was about sabotage, then say that someone else did this...KNOWING full well that others are being blamed and watching that happen...I didn't "mislead" anyone...I slandered them, lied, and committed acts that could destroy them for my benefit.
4) He doesn't know the ages of the girls he is engaging in sexual behavior with? Then they have to be close enough to make this reckless behavior or else he would know. "They" could have lied to him? It's not up to the underaged girl to be the vigilant protector of a married, sitting Congressman's virtue...it's up to the man in his 40's, with a job that requires he not put himself in compromising positions with pictures, information and access to him personally..
5) This has all the earmarks of a weasel-worded, staged, PR gesture...that the MBM will race into action to do damage control crapoganda.
Sorry, I don't buy a bit of it.
Ace, kudos for breathing life into this when it was on a respirator...but, this "apology" sucked. There is more beneath this coverup and it stinks like dead fish.

Lets see... Rangel, the Tax cheat is still writing Tax law.
Geitner, the tax cheat, is still enforcing Tax Law...
Harry Reid, who totally went against the will of the electorate on Obamacare, is still in charge of the Senate...
So... since Weiner lied, we must put him on the Ethics Commitee!!!

WTH are they surprised for? Is that still regarded as a conservative site??
Posted by: Randy at June 06, 2011 02:21 PM (vI8R6)
The Dems are asking for this because they want political cover so that they can be rid of him if need be. His main function was as an attack-dog against the conservatism. How can he go back into the spotlight after this? Considering how angry the Dems are at him, I don't see how he continues. What's he going to do, lay low until 2012? I guess it's possible but he's no longer as valuable, whereas Frank and Rangel still were/are.

Ace, I have to hand it to you. You had Weiner pegged right from the start. All of your analyses were spot on. You drove the story through Memorial Day weekend and stuck to it even when it looked doubtful additional conservative media outlets would pick it up.
Well done, sir!

5 He believes He should still be paid to do the peoples business, and admitting guilt was enough.
6 Pelosi said to go out and tell the truth?
7 He loves His wife/ He loves His wife/ He loves His wife
8 He believes His acting out His fantasies multiple times with mulitple peeps was not Risky for a congress person on an intelligence comittee.
His followers say o well Important special Men in power do this stuff, We Love him anyway, at least they aren't republican Hypocrites!

And one thing not mentioned much, but to me should be, is that the liberal MSM totally failed the USA by their blind loyalty to the Left. They showed themselves on the national stage to be unreliable and overtly biased. Anybody paying attention to this story should have their eyes opened a little farther.
The little green lizard master hardest hit.

Juan says he doesn't have much credibility but on the other hand, there is Bill Clinton, Chris Lee, and Charlie Rangel for precedent. Hy Juan, guess which one resigned. Juan has a moment of lucidity. Also points out that Pelosi wants an investigation.
Krauthammer says GOP has to be careful about looking like they are persecuting. (I discount anything he has to say, since he is nothing but a Beltway person).
