That guy getting his wife outa there by pulling her by her hair....while carrying their baby....should get a medal or something. .....I love her defiance and outrage against the mobsters for threatening her kids, but she could've gotten seriously hurt....as well as her husband and kids.

There are Occupy protests going on in my home state of Indiana, in both Indianapolis and Bloomington (home of Indiana University). Both are peaceful, although according to a friend of mine, the one in Bloomington is looking like Woodstock after the party, with trash and clutter and discarded food all over the place. According to him, the one in Bloomington is largely comprised of older hippy-types reliving the glory days of their youth. There's a younger crowd in Indy, but they're equally non-threatening, by all accounts.

Indiana is a legal carry state. I have a carry license and it isn't a 'concealed' carry license because you can carry your handgun openly or concealed or however you want to--although there is, however, a law against 'brandishing', which means you can't create apprehension or distress in reasonable people by the careless or threatening way you're handling it.

Protesting isn't the problem. These people could try to Occupy Indiana, for all I care. Violence is the problem. And you're right, there seems to be a direct correlation between mob violence and the carry laws of a given location. The more stringent the gun laws (Oakland, Washington D.C., New York), the greater the propensity for violence. I also think the violence or lack of violence in various cities is also due, at least in part, to the local cultural traditions. Indianapolis, for example, isn't exactly a hotbed of revoltionary fervor. We have a few communists here, but they're a fairly lonely bunch. We call them 'college professors' and generally leave them alone.
