— CAC Re-elect number is at 43%, with 50% saying "for the love of God someone else".
Shaky numbers, but hey, it is just Texas. Maybe we need to really worry.
Oh wait. Those numbers aren't for the Lone Star State.
They are for Pennsylvania: "When asked if they think President Obama deserves reelection, 43% say he has done his job well enough to deserve reelection, while 50% say it is time to give a new person a chance. The fact that 1 in 2 voters say they are looking for someone else suggests Obama has very little room to grow and that Pennsylvania will again be a toss-up state in next yearÂ’s presidential election, particularly if the slow economic recovery continues to haunt the president."
This according to Susquehanna Polling and Research's latest release here.
One silly poll though doesn't mean a trend right?
Well, before OBL became shark feces and bad economic news started pummeling us yet again, noted right-wing pollster Tom Jensen of the uber-conservative Public Policy Polling found the same ugly numbers back in April.
Here is the deal. Pennsylvania always flirts with us, but has not gone red since 1988. That painful fact already declared (so no need to mindlessly repeat it like Eeyore with a stuttering problem down in the comments) these numbers are just ugly for President Obama. Pennsylvania was a killing field for Democrats in 2010, and his approval ratings at the time were actually better during the Demplosion than now.
Pennsylvania is, in my view, the ultimate barometer for what 2012 will look like. There are eight states that voted more Republican than Pennsylvania in 2000, 2004, and 2008. Another four that voted more Republican than Pennsylvania in 2 out of those 3 elections:
It is very, very safe to say if the President has lost this state, say hello to President (INSERT REPUBLICAN HERE).

People were in a, generally, positive mood in 1983. Things were good and getting better.
In 1983 there was the perception of a brighter tomorrow. Today in Obama's 3rd year there is uncertainty and a negative outlook for the future.
We can beat Obama. I know we can. We just need a good challenger.

In 2010 the Pubs had a great year in PA, electing Toomey to the US Senate, taking the governorship and both state houses, etc. Of course, the Democrat fraud machine in the big cities wasn't ramped up like it will be in 2012....but I'm not sure if even that can save them.

So this morning, while that business network was trying to figure out the spin on the jobs numbers...they ultimately discussed imports/exports, it was the only near decent number. Anyway, someone sort of slipped and explained why we really can't have any more mortgage foreclosures. Something about CD something and insurance? So I wonder who has the insurance on these mortgages if they go belly up.
also, was reading yesterday. No wonder they are sending out swat teams they have an over 40% default rate on student loans.

1992 - Clinton 45% Bush 36% Perot 18% (D+9)
1996 - Clinton 49% Dole 40% Perot 10% (D+9)
2000 - Gore 51% Dubya 46% Nader 2% (D+5)
2004 - Kerry 51% Dubya 48% (D+3)

Actually, NJ is the ultimate cocktease. Inexplicably, they always poll GOP early in the season.
PA has a lot of "conservative Democrats", particularly in NEPA and in the Pittsburgh area. These are people who vote Democrat even though they oppose almost everything the national party stands for. They've been lulled by "pro-life" Democrats and turned off by pro-choice Republicans.
It's not unreasonable (especially after Corbett and Toomey) that they would go GOP nationally someday.
I think PA might this year, but here's the thing: Obama WILL have to campaign in PA and he will also have to campaign in NJ. Heavily. I know the new GOP governors are having rocky starts, but I suspect that there will be very little OH and FL summer campaigning for Obama/Biden.
Oh, they'll make a stop or two, but that's just to fool the media into thinking they have secret internal polls that make them look winnable.

Please, please, please let this trend continue. Please, oh Lord, have mercy on our country and help us come to our senses and get rid of this sack o' shit. (the o' intentionally used to respect his Irish heritage)

the correct spelling is shite not shit (for the Irish) and it rhymes with lite.

Not to be a spelling NAZI, but you misspelled Palin.

Actually, NJ is the ultimate cocktease. Inexplicably, they always poll GOP early in the season.
Excuuuse me??!! I'll have you know I've been consitently polling up and down the NJ highways and by-ways for years and have alway found young GOP'ers in season!
Oh..wait...eh...thats not what I a....
SHIT!

Yeah, but....!
Just because half the country wants someone new in the White House DOES NOT MEAN IT'S A CONSERVATIVE!
Consider that all the assclowns smiling and whooping it up that Obama was going to buy their gas and pay their rent and mortgages wound up with squat. I expect THEY want a new guy in the White House too, but I doubt it would be anyone likely to cut their free stuff.

Whew, I thought Austin infected half the state. As for PA, I don't put any faith in them. The tards reelcted Murtha even after he called them racist rednecks.

Yeah, he may have called them bitter clingers, but they were fooled, as so many across the country were. Now that he has a disastrous track record, many of them are freed up to vote against ghim or not all all.
At least I hope so.

I'll be heading up the NW Pennsylvania in a week for a some golf and visit the family(mostly golf though) so it will be interesting to gauge the mood. My former state is an odd bird. They are generally conservative but vote dem. Never could figure that out. I went up there last year and didn't hear a single kind word about President Unicorn.

@125: "Also there was someone who escaped the WTC only to die in an air crash?"
The Air France splashdown, I think.
There's also al-Qaida's favorite family: staying at the WTC Mariott on 9/11, took a vacation in Bali just in time for the 10/12 bombing, and were in London for the Underground bombings.
Still the all-time best was the salesman from Nagasaki who picked a bad day to go to Hiroshima and a worse day to go home. How bad did it have to suck to hear Fat Man go off and think "Wait, I *know* that sound...."

I don;t expect a libtard to get a Bible reference.

Thank gaia my family has always been staunch conservative. I was floored to hear my 83-yr-old mother telling the story of how the (distant) relatives down the street thought FDR was a saint, seeing as how he wanted to ensure everyone was taken care of. She said they had a picture of him hanging in their living room. While those folks are long gone, their middle-aged kids who still live there had Obama yard signs up in '08 as well as pro-coal signs. Figure that out.

Even when Obama was caught on tape directly insulting them, the fuckwads and retards in Pennsylvania still got down on their knees and gobbled Obama up.
That's another difference between PA and TX. O's been jacking with us here in Texas quite a lot and we don't cotton to that here. Not that anyone needs to cite another example of Zero's idiocy, but insulting and screwing with the state widely acknowledged to be leading the country in job creation by a landslide during this Obamaconomy is downright stupid. I can't fathom why he does it.
Also, I saw a bumpersticker this morning that said:
THINK...it's not illegal, yet.

I know it will be confusing at first, but a good idea is a good idea.
I think Red was assigned to us by those two NY Times editors who were revealed to be communist spies back in the 60's.
