— Ace They had demanded that, to offset the payroll tax cut they want to continue.
I suppose their next offer will be "we don't pay for it at all and just put it on the tab."
So I don't think it's a huge victory. But maybe it's progress towards something.

As for the make us pay more part , it is my understanding the pipeline oil is to be used for export! I would like to make another point. Why do you never hear of the oil refineries in the North East. I drive past 5 or 10 of them here in the Port of Philadelphia everyweek!

He got them to fund the payroll tax cut with somebody else's money.
Next he will move to make the cut permanent, paid for with somebody else's money.
Then he will move to cut even more, and pay for it with somebody else's money.
Before long the bottom 50% will be paying no taxes whatsoever.

They don't really care what the "American" people
want. It's already been proven. The truth is those
Millionaires and Billionaires don't want to pay that surtax
and the dems have been given their orders on this.

With a government shutdown approaching, House Republicans may try to force Senate Democrats into a corner on year-end legislation by bringing an omnibus spending bill to the floor Friday and daring them to oppose it.
The move would be an attempt to undercut Democrats' strategy of refusing to formally sign off on the spending bill until Republicans and Democrats can reach agreement on an extension of President Barack Obama's payroll tax holiday.

HAHAHA
so on one hand, we were told by Dingy Harry and President O'Bumbles that it was just a teensy weensy itty bitty li'l tax, and those Rethuglicans are just stupid to oppose it
but now when the D's drop it, then all of a sudden it's a grievous event so momentous that it causes the Statue of Liberty to start shedding giant copper tears

The Washigton Generals are in fine form today
Announcing they will cave again on taxes AND destroy the Bill of Rights in the same day.
These people - including Obama - are worthless corporate shills. Neither of these decisions would poll a majority. There is no democracy left in this country.
We are an oligarchy.
Please tell me what we have to fear if Obama is not re-elected when this stuff (and all the other anti-worker and anti-environmental crap that the Obama administration greenlights) is what happens with him in office.
These guys are as bad as the GOP. They are just sneakier and phonier.
Pack of frauds and sellouts, one and all.

What do they mean? OK, let's consider the following profile:
Congressman. Not a person with inherited wealth. Not an Ivy-league educated lawyer. Not a career politician.
What are the chances that this person is a Democrat, rather than a Republican? Is it greater than zero?

If you want evidence that the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) cares more about ideology than it does about the fate of Hispanics, look no further than its collective silence when the subject turns to the failed ATF operation known as Fast and Furious. In particular, consider the number of CHC members who have called for Attorney General Eric Holder's resignation.
The number stands at zero. Not so coincidentally, every member of the caucus is a Democrat; so is Holder.

Only a stupid rat could cut income going into a broken program while they demagogue the Republicans for the Bush tax cuts.
Until the whole tax code is revamped I could care a less about this 2% payroll tax cut.
Me, too. I only make $300/week after taxes (Social Security early retirement rules), though.
For six bucks a week, I want my grandkids to get benefits, since the idiots in Washington won't come to their senses, although I agree with my gen-X kids that they'll never see it.
I'd gladly cut my SSI check six bucks a week AND pay the extra 2%. "A country boy knows how to survive".
The problem is that my kids are well educated idiots and buy into the left wing drivel. That's the price of my not paying attention until I was over 40.
