Obama Implements The Rejected DREAM Act By "Lawless" Executive Action
— Ace

The DREAM Act went up for a vote; it was killed by a vote.

That's how we do things in America.

Or it was. B.O., or Before Obama.

I.C.E has announced changes to its deportation program. Agents are now specifically urged to consider whether an illegal is studying in high school or college or is serving or did serve in the military.

"Specifically urged" means "don't do it if you want to keep your job or get promoted."

That's the Constitutional response. Unfortunately, only Americans support the United States Constitution and it is clear that Democrats have a different loyalty.

I see a pattern. Or, rather, a method to Obama's madness.

Keep spending until WE HAVE TO raise taxes.

Keep those borders open and keep subsidizing foreigners until WE HAVE TO pass Amnesty.

Yes that turned out so well for us last time when teh President was a white lawyer.  I am sure we will get different results this time.  The makeup of the rethuglican congresspersons has not changed materially since Clinton as far as I can tell.  McConnell and Boner would hate to be dropped from the elite dinner party list so I expect real inaction on this one.

26 Charles Krauthammer nailed it. This is a lawless administration. They ignore the courts, the Congress and the US Constitution. We will see this continue as long as Obama and the Democrats hold sway. I used to be a Democrat, but these people now are not looking out for the good of America. They have betrayed their oaths of office. I have never been so afraid for the freedom of the people of America!

29 Not the least bit surprised that he resorted to this method to get what he wants. I'll be even more shocked if Congress reprimands him for it, though they should.

OT: The House passed the patent reform bill but with 2 major changes. Looking at the roll call votes, you will find there is no consistent pattern as to who voted aye or nay. E.g., the most conservative members of the House split on the issue.

31 Now is the time to break out the 'dead girl or live boy' reference. Truly, there is absolutely nothing that can stop this admin from thumbing their noses at our laws.

Billy Jeff got caught with a live girl, lied, was impeached (42 votes in the Senate to convict), and is considered a respected elder statesman. I think Dear Reader could get caught with a dead boy and it wouldn't matter. There are not 67 votes in the Senate no matter what.

We've come a long way baby.

I didn't forget squat -- the lied part (okay, maybe I should have added under oath), plus the impeachment.

Here's the thing -- Sure, it is possible to impeach the JEF because that only requires a simple majority in the House, which we control. The charge? General assfuckery of the American people, or whatever else suits your fancy. But to throw him out of office (convict) requires a 2/3 vote in the Senate, which is where I point out that in the case of BlowJob Clinton it wasn't even a close call.

Which leads to my statement that even a dead boy wouldn't do the trick here. Teflon doesn't begin to describe his protection.

I seem to recall there is already a means by which, if you come into this country leagally and have not yet been granted citizenship you can join the military, serve and be granted citizenship.   BUT, and this is the but the fuckers are leaving out, you must come to this country legally.

Of course, legal is something the fuckwit supposed consitutional lawyer, dickwipe president  knows or cares jack fucking shit about.

I'll be honest.  If some guy has served several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, I don't give a shit if he is illegal or not.  That guy is my brother.

If I'm on that courts martial, my vote will be for not guilty.

52 I wonder if a member of congress could go to court to get a Writ of Mandamus. That's the usual procedure when an elected executive refuses to fulfil the duties of his office.

Nah, SCOTUS would probably punt as a "poltical question"...too bad, really.

So, what have we learned:
1) Congress can't defund the czars -- Obama will pay them anyway.
2) Congress can no longer constrain the exercise of war powers -- Obama will redefine a war as "kinetic action" and pretend that pesky article I doesn't apply.
3) Congress can no longer stop ANY action the executive wants to take: vote down the DREAM act not once, but four times over eight years -- and Obama will do it by executive fiat.

And *BUSH* was the cowboy imperialist president?

Meanwhile this pos illegal kills two people in Phoenix AZ and flees the scene.   Police suspected the leg might have become attached to the vehicle that hit the two 25-year-old victims, but Mesa Sergeant Ed Wessing says the vehicle has been recovered, and 27-year-old Jose DeJesus Padilla-Rodriguez is in custody for the hit-and-run, but the leg is still missing. Leg was found on a roof 100+ ft from impact.
