— Ace I'll write a lot about this in a second. But here it is, in all is glory.
Of course I'm being snarky about the "ending all controversy." This will change some minds, but, as I was just saying, those who have invested emotionally in a conspiracy theory tend to have non-rational reasons for believing in the conspiracy theory in the first place. And, as they say, you cannot reason a man out of a belief he was never reasoned into in the first place.
Over on Free Republic -- not to knock that site, it's just where this is from -- many are proving that, just as suspected, while they were posturing as people who wanted "evidence," in fact evidence was wholly irrelevant to them; they had a conclusion that was untouchable by evidence as it was never founded upon evidence in the first place.
Blow to Trump? ItÂ’s blow to Obongo. The WH jackass is running scared. CorsiÂ’s book is #1 on Amazon and wonÂ’t be released for 3 weeks.
The "Corsi's book" referred to is the huckster Jerome Corsi's book about Obama's lack of a birth certificate. Apparently Corsi's book will make terrific arguments about Obama's lack of a birth certificate, so strong that they will overcome the fact that Obama does actually have birth certificate.
Never say die, I guess.
In Fairness: I'm not sure that particular commenter is making the point I want him to make. He might just be saying that Obama is weak politically and his long-refused release of the birth certificate is evidence of his weaknesss-- what he had previously sneered at as beneath him, he now agrees to do. Apologies to that commenter if that's all he meant.
But omeone earlier wrote:
there are now two things wrong with line 20the font of the “A” on line 13 appears different from the “A” in the date on line 20.
To which another Freeper, this one a bit less consumed by the power of a conspiracy theory, replies simply:
Yes, line 13 is by a typewriter. Line 20 is by a stamp.
Ah, but that's what they want you to believe.
I hope this madness is now over but I doubt it is.
Further Thoughts: So the birth certificate exists and furthermore didn't even have any embarrassing data on it, which might have provided a reason for Obama to refuse to release it. I began to think maybe there was something embarrassing, because the other possibilities...
1) He finds the entire matter an affront to his dignity and a pseudo-racist attack on his person, so he will not give in to such racism/affrontery.
2) He generally wants to give the right the finger and will not be bullied by their demands.
3) He actually wants the right to embarrass itself by talking about this and committing to it, consistent with the general belief held by almost all of the media that this whole issue badly damages the right by exposing us as crazy and/or racist.
...just didn't seem strong enough to continue this crap of not simply releasing a simple, standard, impersonal record. But I was wrong, as it turns out-- these were strong enough reasons for him to refuse to release it, as they're the only possibilities still alive.
So why release it now? The obvious reasons:
1) Because the conspiracy theory has become mainstreamed and viral, and yet Obama's poll numbers continue to fall and Donald Trump, Mainstreamer in Chief, is not suffering politically. Ergo, that whole idea the media had that this was devastating to the right isn't true -- so if the refusal to release it was based on that, well, that theory has been proven inoperative.
2) Because he wants to run against Donald Trump and doing this elevates Trump to "the guy who finally got Obama to release his birth certificate." This shouldn't hurt Trump too much -- many will give his hucksterism a more skeptical look going forward, but they were probably already skeptical of his hucksterish pitches -- and on the up side it makes Trump sort of an equal to Obama, in that at least he bullied him into doing something he could have and should have done two years ago. So, maybe this is Obama's way of elevating Trump and choosing his own opponent (63% of voters say they will definitely not vote for Trump, while only 46% say they will definitely vote against Obama -- obviously, this strongly favors Obama).
But I doubt that. It's too "movie-plot crafty." I never like these "four dimensional chess" reasons, where the actor in question is postulated to have the ability to think seven moves ahead in a real-world, flesh-and-blood chess match, perfectly calculating his opponent's next move and the one after that and the one after that.
3) The most obvious reason-- Obama is in fact politically vulnerable, his polls are dropping, and the birth certificate conspiracy theory is not, as the media and liberals kept insisting, somehow helping him by painting the right as insane.
Ergo, with many things going against him, he decided there was one thing under his control that didn't have to go against him, and so finally did the right, obvious thing.
4) My own dark horse suggestion: Trump whiffed completely on the birth certificate but scored a stand-up double with Obama's grades, and Obama doesn't want that subject being examined, so he decimates Trump Theory Number One to spray Trump Theory Number Two with shrapnel.
I hope that we keep on on that front -- I have the fervor of a recent convert about that particular religion (Testify, brothers!) -- but I suspect that most will not, and the media has an even stronger hand now in dismissing such questions ("The same people were pushing the birth certificate thing," which isn't true, but that's what they'll say).
Birtherism Is Dead; Long Live Transcriptism! Average Joe dubs the suspicion that Obama's grades aren't all that good "Transcriptism."
I like that term.
I am a newly-converted Transcripter.
Obama Shouldn't Be All High And Mighty About Jerking People Around: willow makes a good point.
Okay, Colonel Lakin was possessed of a false conspiracy theory. So... the response is to let the court martial proceed rather than simply releasing the document that would clear all this up?
What the hell?

This is a total non-event. Why wasn't this released during the campaign? Hey Obama, save the secrecy for Classified material!
It's funny how Wiki-Leaks has millions of classified documents, but the world has to wait years for a perfectly normal birth certificate and we still don't have college transcripts from the leader of the free world.

This. Was this a game being played the entire time? If so, it was shabby, and not indictative of hope and change. Was this part of a general stonewalling of any and all personal records, since he of all people knew how to exploit other peoples records for gain? We get the same answer.

Okay, he's released it. Okay, to my untrained eye it seems legit. Therefore I will treat it as legit until someone with actual credentials and evidence beyond font-problems comes forward to debunk what was released.
I'll also point out that it verified that, by the Founder's understanding, Barack Obama is not a "natural born citizen." That fact isn't worth much, since no one wants to consider what the founders meant by that phrase, but it's nice to have confirmation all the same.
I'll also sort of agree with PJ- this was a "win" for our side. I could only see two reasons that Obama would authorize the release of his Long Form cert. 1: To truly damage a political opponent who had gone "all-in" on the birth certificate. Even Trump (the most visible "birther" currently) only said, "He hasn't released it, why not?" so that doesn't really work. 2: Because it was hurting him more to keep it hidden than to release it. I think that's where we got: when 62% (according to yesterday's Drudge headline) of the American people aren't sure you were born in the US, you're starting to have a real problem.

MYFOXNY.COM - President Obama is going to be in New York City for the third time in a month on Wednesday, and this visit could create a real nightmare of an evening commute.
Obama's motorcade could force the closure of the FDR Drive from Wall St. to E. 61st St. from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Fifth Avenue from East 89th to East 59th streets will be closed from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Central Park's transverse roads along with all avenues from York to Fifth could be blocked during that period.
Posted by: Jane D'oh at April 27, 2011 06:53 AM (UOM48)
However....
For more than 3 years, Obama and his people have claimed that THERE IS NO SUCH THING as a "long form birth certificate." They claimed that "Birthers" were asking for something WHICH DIDN'T EXIST.
They were unreasonable.
They were CRAAAZZZY....
But it turns out:
THEY WERE RIGHT
Obama could have produced this ANY TIME HE WANTED.
And THAT is where I think that most rational people are going to end up on this issue:
"He could have produced this thing any time he wanted to. Why on earth did he let things get this out of control before he FINALLY produced the evidence that people have been asking for since 2007? That doesn't make any sense to me. WHY HAS HE BEEN WASTING OUR TIME?????"
I think that, at the end of the day, Obama actually winds up a BIG loser on this issue. He and his people have now been proven LIARS on the issue: they have produced what they said did not exist after wasting 3 years, millions of dollars, and tying up the court system wastefully.
It's a symbol of his entire presidency, and I think he will actually wind up regretting putting this out there.

I'm guessing that Corsi's book was a "come for the lack of b.c., stay for the rest of the questions kind of deal.
Without having publishing industry contacts, I'm guessing there's probably one on-point and potentially damaging thing in Corsi's book, but now the Obama backers and the MFM (BIRM) can scream "Old news! Asked and answered! Old news! Asked and Answered!" like Bill Clinton's flacks back in the day.

Ah, those conspiring Founding Fathers with their conspiratorial Constitution!
Revisionists adore convenience and abhor the authentic. Usurped words, just words assimilated into virtual vocabulary. Through repetitive usage meant to denigrate the authentic, impose the opposite meaning over the original.
Drop the "conspiracy" attack against those who uphold and defend the US Constitution, Ace.
Obama enablers spun the whole cloth campaign against constitutional conservatism, AS IF being born within the US or being naturalized a citizen ever entirely comprised the Founders' principle that the natural born citizen has both parents US citizens along with the birth taking place in the USA.

I hope this madness is now over but I doubt it is.
This is about politics. If you put on your political hat for a moment you'll see that there are two reasons why Obama released his BC.
1. It was hurting him politically. These little things like "he's a muslim" and "where's his birth certificate?" are starting to add up and take a toll on his image.
2. The Transcripts. THIS is what Obama wants to avoid more than anything. He released another version of his BC in an attempt to stop the inquiries about his school records and the HLR.
We clearly have Obama on the ropes. The worst thing to do now is let up. Keep applying pressure. Keep him on the defensive.
Make the sonofabitch deny it all.
Posted by: Soothsayer, over easy at April 27, 2011 06:55 AM (uFokq)
That's exactly how I read it. He's releasing this thing with no fanfare a few hours before the first ever press conference by Bernanke in which there is likely to be a bombshell.
Remember how the COLB was released? I think first on Kos and then a few days later on his own campaign website.
I have no doubt this was hurting him in the polls. Not directly, but it was increasing his negatives in the "secretive" and "pompous" and "asshole" categories.
Ace, the conspiracists will be out in force for about 48 hours and then will slink to the sidelines.
Frankly, I think Trump had a heads up that this was happening which is why you heard about the transcripts. The administration must have thought they could cut off Trump's line of attack, but he started a new one before they could make the big announcement.

I mean, they're calling it a long-form birth certificate? Is it? I'm not trying to be dense here but is this pretty much the same thing as anyone else born at the same time and place would have received?
The "African" as a race thing I've seen mentioned as not being a category consistent with the classifications at the time--is that true or more BS konspiracy?
Maybe it's 'cause I don't trust this regime. The crowd that can say with a straight face, "It's not a war, it's a kinetic military action" will lie about anything.
So, it is it? Why the hell make such a big deal about keeping it secret, why so many lies and excuses as to why he couldn't/wouldn't produce it?
And yeah, really it doesn't mean anything because the high school and college transcripts are more relevant. He'll say, "but I already produced my birth certificate and there was nothing there, so I'm not going to produce those." Keep hitting him Trump--it's quite entertaining to see the JEF find out "I won/because I said so" doesn't mean shit to people with real jobs.

Actually I think it's just the opposite: Donald Trump got strengthened:
"Look. I got results. People have been asking for this for 3 years, and he did nothing. I started 'asking questions' and they produced it in 2 weeks. I win."
It's the most minor of minor "wins." But people are looking for someone who can get the job done. And like it or not and whether you think it was a distraction or a real issue, Trump forced Obama's hand and "got the job done."
That's going to go a long way with some people, and denying it is denying reality.

Naturally, The Donald will strut about proudly claiming some sort of victory. Maybe he'll even start the Trump Detective Agency with offices worldwide, who knows?
Hopefully, he'll continue to be a burr underneath The Vapid One's™ saddle while not officially declaring his candidacy. Thomas Sowell had a great piece about the damage The Donald could do to the GOP. IMHO, he can avoid that by not declaring.

My own dark horse suggestion: Trump whiffed completely on the birth certificate but scored a stand-up double with Obama's grades, and Obama doesn't want that subject being examined, so he decimates Trump Theory Number One to spray Trump Theory Number Two with shrapnel.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the "academic records" thing, too. Not just the grades and courses, but perhaps also the scholarship(s) and honorifics. I do think it's possible he/his family gamed the system by masquerading as a foreign student to get funding.
I'm not sure how much damage any of this does, but if I were the other (announced) candidates (GOP) I'd release all of my academic records preemptively.

Trump was never a credible candidate. But he could have caused real problems in the primary.
Fair or not, Trump became the face of the "birther" movement. His name is synonymous with the conspiracy theory. Now Trump, along with that theory, has been discredited.
If Trump runs, he will now serve a useful purpose - as foil for credible candidates wishing to distance themselves from the fringe elements of the party and establishing their seriousness on important issues.
During a debate: "I applaud Mr. Trump for having a popular celebrity reality show. But he is not a serious candidate. While he was spending his considerable wealth trying to get to the bottom of what the President's birth certificate said, I was busy putting forth a plan to rid this country of its devastating debt and out of control spending. Which do you think is more important to our country?"

1) he released it already! (something Shep Smith reportedly yelled on air this weekend, I believe)
2) what was released (prior to today) is the only kind of document Hawaii makes available
3) the original is lost/unavailable
It was always the media hammering talking point 2 that annoyed me, since anyone who has applied for a passport who knows the difference between a long form BC (with the hospital, attending physician, birthplace of parents, mother's signature, etc.) and what had been released by the Obama campaign.
Does this mean that all of the major news outlets, including Fox, were, ahem, wrong, particularly when it comes to the "he released it already" explanation?

It was his falling poll numbers with independents that did it. And for that, thanks Trump.

To me, the most important thing is how Obama responded. He blamed the media for distracting him from budget issues and had a little hissy fit-- all this despite the fact that he created this issue. Not only is he reinforcing his reputation as thin-skinned and willing to constantly shift blame, he also can't stop acting like the jerk he is. His legendary cool persona has once again been exposed as a fraud. So whether the BC is authentic or not, the entire situation reflects poorly on him.

That's your best legal shot, ignoring the original source because it's inconvenient and discarding as no longer relevant.
You want to prove your case? Discredit with documentary proof that I'm "actually, factually wrong". Wishing that I were does not make it so. Quote the encyclopedia reference source that our Founders used to show the world the historical documentation that legitimizes Obama's status as a natural born US citizen POTUS given that his father (Barak held Kenyan and British citizenship) never held or applied for US citizenship.
Barak Obama, Barry's dad, was never a US citizen.

Now the only viable theory seems to be 1) Obama lives in a left-wing bubble, so believed the conventional wisdom that the "birther" issue hurt Repubs, so he kept it alive out of, what he thought, was clever political jujitsu. So now 2) the polls finally burst the left-wing bubble and convinced him he was being hurt by this issue.
Definitely an asshole dick-cheese move to send good people to prison just so he could have, what he thought was, a useful political issue to label right-wingers as crazy, racist, paranoid "birthers".
Talk about stepping on the little guy for, in the grand scheme of things, a pretty small political advantage.

1.) This definitively puts the "birther" crap to rest. If you insist on carrying it any further then congratulation, you're well into "a missile hit the Pentagon!" territory. Enjoy life among the insane.
2.) This makes Trump look stupid, except for the fact that the man has no shame and will therefore probably just bluster his way through it and keep hammering on his transcripts. It ends his chances at the GOP nomination though, that's for sure. Good and good.
3.) This doesn't hurt the other Republican candidates at all. They all disassociated themselves from Birtherism already, and the issue is now out of the way early enough to be a non-factor going forward. Because Obama released this from a position of weakness (i.e. because, as Ace theorized, it really is hurting him in the polls or at least isn't breaking his fall), he used the bullet too soon.

Poor, and ultimately counter-productive tactics.
Counter-tactic: "We've got the worst economic problem in the history of this country, we're out of money, we're engaged in three wars, and all they can talk about is what grade Obama got in Poli-Sci in 1988."

"The Complainer-in-Chief just hijacked the airwaves for another moment of presidential petulance:
'Two weeks ago when the Republican House had put forward a budget that will have huge consequences potentially to the country. And when I gave a speech about my budget and how I felt that we needed to invest in education, in infrastructure, in making sure that we had a strong safety net for our seniors even as we were closing the deficit.
During that entire week the dominant news story wasnÂ’t abut these huge monumental choices that we going to have to make as a nation. It was about my birth certificate.'"
So I'm supposed to feel sorry for him for creating a distraction not only once but twice with this issue because he's so petty and such a failure of a president.

Now, on to the Transcripts!!!
If Andrew or even The Donald is reading here's the line:
There is no President in history for whom all schools records are known. It just comes out as part of the process of writing his history. Why is Obama waiting? Why not release those records now? What is in them that will be fine for us to know once he's left office but not now? I'm not talking personal things but simply courses taken and grades.

I am not so sure. The one constant with the left is their heavy self conceit investment that they, and all their friends, are smarter than everyone else. This is a required point of view to enable moral freedom to treat people like shit and feel good about one's behavior. Once they discover that their messiah is merely a C-student piker, the mask is removed. Then they are required to either self reflect on their biases and bigotries or better yet discard the used prophylactic messiah for another and repeat their pathology of self importance. (NOTE: My money is on the later; See Senator Kerry, President Clinton, Senator Clinton, et. al.). So are they swayable? - probably not. Are they scrambable? - most definitely. They would discard the WON as soon as all the myths concerning hime are destroyed. Being the smartest man in the room is their touchstone. Without it, they are reduced to concensus politics, which to them is icky.

The reason why it's perfectly okay to apply pressure about Obama's grades is the same as why the Birther stuff was surprisingly not hurting the Right: people right now are getting the weird sense that, pace your "two years in office" argument, they don't really know who Obama is on a gut level. Anything that calls into question the Narrative they were spoonfed during the 2008 elections is good for stoking that fire, no matter how seemingly minor.
Furthermore, the peripherality of this argument helps us: no major Prez candidate is going to be taking up this mantle, and it's not as if we need to reiterate the MAJOR arguments against Obama -- those are felt on a day-to-day basis at the pump and the grocery store, and are being thwacked at again and again by the GOP political class (as they should be). Let Trump, et al. keep harping on the phoniness of his achievements (especially since, unlike the Birther crap, I'm pretty sure this actually IS a sound thesis). It only helps by chipping away around the edges of the Obama Edifice of Mega-Genius that helps prop him up among a certain squishy portion of the population (i.e. "I may not understand what he's doing, or agree with him, but by gum he is a genius smart guy so I'll let it ride.)

News flash: Double standards, media bias and general unfairness exist, all of which benefited Obama, and that will continue to some degree regardless. Life is not fair.
It may be personally gratifying to insist that the media and others hold Obama to the same standards they hold others, especially conservatives. But it will not likely happen. And this touting at windmills, while possibly personally gratifying (and correct in principle) will not make any difference where it counts - at the polls. People who already hate Obama will cheer you on, but you won't hear one person say "Well, I was going to vote for Obama, but he won't tell me what grade he got in poli-sci, so he won't be getting my vote."

I am not sure anyone cares what grades he got. The point is that he believes he is the only president that doesn't have to show this stuff. He's finding out that's not true.
Bush released his complete transcripts, his complete military records and his complete medical records. I don't know if anyone asked for his birth certificate although they asked for McCains which he released. Bush even got the added benefit of having people make up military records a week before the election.
Kerry got cute with his military records and never did release all of them and lost. He did release his college records though.

4) My own dark horse suggestion: Trump whiffed completely on the birth certificate but scored a stand-up double with Obama's grades, and Obama doesn't want that subject being examined, so he decimates Trump Theory Number One to spray Trump Theory Number Two with shrapnel.
I hope that we keep on on that front -- I have the fervor of a recent convert about that particular religion (Testify, brothers!) --
Can I get an AMEN!!
I was thinking the exact same thing when I woke up listening to Glenn parodying about the hidden triplets and speculating about misdirection for the Fed presser. It is very possible that his Harvard record is a real vulnerability and O is using his BC as a gambit to disperse the attack as "just another conspiracy theory from the extreme right wing"
Trump does have an opportunity here though. I think the correct play is.
1. I am happy the President has finally released his BC and laid this troublesome issue to rest.
2. I think it would have been more responsible though, to have released his past records, including his birth certificate and college transcripts 3 years ago and avoided all of this speculation.
3. I trust the President now understands that many Americans want that kind of transparency, that a President who looks like he is keeping secrets about past events will be rightly suspected of either nefarious, suspicious, or embarrassing actions, and these speculative issues can be laid to rest if he is open and forthcoming about his past.

Did you guys see the letter from O's attorney to the health department lady? Spoon fed the desired response. Check the blog at whitehouse dot gov.
(from Ms. Corley)
"Waiver of the Department's policy in this instance would allow my client to make a certified copy of his original birth certificate publicly available and would also relieve the burden currently being placed on the Department of Health by the numerous inquiries it recieves from the media and others relating to my client's birth record."
So, that spoon fed resonse is then written back in letter from the Director of Health, Ms. Loretta J. Fuddy, ACSW, MPH. But in a totally passive agressive way. She just HAD to say "Such inquiries have been disruptive to staff operation and have strained State resources."
Don't be such a duddy, Ms. Fuddy.

I agree the birthers were weak, but saying this is in the same league as the truthers is flat out wrong. All the birthers had was Obama's citizenship. The truthers convinced scores of people that the US government perpetrated the greatest mass murder of Americans in our nation's history. (How many Democrats polled believed that shit? This being the foundation of Obama, maintain the records on file preparing for Obama's Impeachment which by no means is limited to his lack of validity. But once Obama is impeached, during his prosecution have everything on hand for his removal from office. Although the Republican Leadership won't attempt to discredit Obama as they maintain with Pelosi "common values", maintaining all for the record still matters.

No, it's not a forgery. It's legit. And Joseph Farah is an absolutely insane crank. His point about Obama's mother not being old enough (under the law as it was in 1961) to confer citizenship to Obama is only relevant in a context where Obama had been born in Kenya (i.e. in a foreign country) rather than on U.S. soil. Given that he was born in Hawaii, it's a moot point.
Quite simply, never trust content from Farah. Ever.

As too the "African" under Race for Senior I too believe this is out of place. It is one of the things which led me to question, briefly, the short form. It's an odd term to use. Also, notice the "II" after Junior's name. Unusual but not an indication of a fake. If I had to bet I would say both the "II" and the "African" is there at the insistence of Senior. He was a Socialist and African Nationalist. He would consider Africans a race. He probably insisted that the "II" be noted too so that Barry was never known as a Junior. Senior and Junior is a Non-African designation.

Obama is destroying our country and is quite possibly the most incompetent President ever to serve this nation. Yet here we are talking about whether he is eligible to serve in an office he already holds and elevating the rantings of a mangy-dog-used-car-salesman like Trump to some type of constructive dialogue.
The only thing Trump is worried about is his image and how many models half his age he can hit. If he won the Whitehouse it would make Clinton-Lewinsky look like amateur night at a Nevada whorehouse. In fact, Trump as POTUS would probably rent out the Lincoln Bedroom, replete with prostitutes and make it the next big reality TV show.
If you considered Trump as a viable candidate for President, the next thing you should consider is sterilization. Either that or moving to Transylvania.

The problem arose in my opinion about the BC because from the campaign's beginnings we saw how He fibbed about simple things as a march in a civil rights movement, his grandfather in germany , his lack of transparency from the beginning , there was NO reason to hide the information , but He choose to, the media covered for Him, how no-one would stand up and make Him actually comply with normal standards of a campaign hopeful.
it would be natural to believe lots o things, who would think the Media would have been so in the tank they would play games with the elections (at that point ) to the degree they did

Not as you propose at all. Revisionism would attempt such a rationalization as logical despite the bloody tribal antagonisms in Kenya exemplified by Barak Obama (Sr.).
Had Obama's father been a proponent for an imaginary Pan-Africanism which never was in 1961, his racist Obama family would not have been involved in a regime that decimated another African tribe with genocide by machete.

Another thing to note about the use of the term African as race if it was at the insistence of the father.
I don't think insistence has much to do with how official documents are filled out by state employees. Also I should point out that there is no evidence on the purported document that Barack Obama sr was even present at all when the form was filled out.(no signature except mother's)

State employees do a lot of crap to make annoying people go away. I would agree with the form not showing the father was present, but it doesn't show he wasn't either. As to only the mother's signature that is typical. The mother is asked to certify because only she could know for certain who the father is. But only one parent's signature is required.

Here we go: Suddenly everyone's an expert on how hospitals in Hawaii in 1961 referred to the race of an African Negro. Suddenly people are pretty damn sure they would have said "Negro" and not "African," so it's a forgery.
I'm asking to see one other instance of the use of "African" in the racial category not claiming to be an expert. People used the term Coloreds and Negros(even Darkies), then the term "Black" became popular in the late '60s-'80s and "African" became the fad in the '90s.
African is a contemporary term. I was born in the '50s and I remember, how about you?

Either document where Barry's dad or (even more ridiculous to presume) hospital officials espoused Pan-Africa as Obama's race, or allow that in 1961 the race was designated as "Negro" -- Spanish and French for Black.
Barry's problem isn't his father's race, but his father's citizenship not being US.
Waiting still for Ace to "actually factually" prove his argument by exhibiting authentic 18th Century encyclopedic historical evidence substantiating Obama's constitutional legitimacy as a natural born citizen of the USA.

Lots and lots if misspeaks with this guy Barry).

Now it's Hawaii, so they may have used different terminology there (easily verified by seeing birth certificates of other black children born there in 1961) but here in Indiana the term would have been Negor.
In fact, as late as 1968 when my son was born in a US Army Hospital in West Berlin, the birth certificate form had boxes to check which were "Caucasian, Negro, Oriental, etc."
In 1961 "Negro" was considered the polite and scientific term. This was pre-black power, African-American, or anything else.
Now it could be that Obama's father insisted on the term "African." Or it could be a clerical error. Or it could be what was used in Hawaii as a local term different from how mainland people talked.
But you don't need to get all snarky and act like people pointing this out are birthers and nutso. It IS unusual and worth of a moment of comment, although it proves nothing one way or the other.
So please realize that things are different now than they were 50 years ago, and some of us actually REMEMBER how things were then.

In case anybody here hasn't been paying attention: Obama is a liar, passing forged documents is considered a sport by Democrats, and examining a document for signs of authenticity/fraudulence is as important as having a document in the first place.
Things we know for a fact:
a) the MSM have been telling us we have Obama's birth certificate for years but today that is proven to have been a lie by the release of this new different document
b) Obama could have given us this document years ago but didn't for no good reason
c) Obama became an Illinois State Senator by having the field of contenders, including the incumbent, thrown out on technicalities*
*Obama challenged Palmer's hastily gathered nominating petitions and those of the three other prospective candidates. Nearly two-thirds of the signatures on Palmer's nominating petitions were found to be invalid, leaving her almost 200 signatures short of the required 757 signatures of registered voters residing in the Senate district; neither of the other three prospective candidates had the required number of valid signatures, leaving Obama, who had filed nominating petitions with over 3,000 signatures on the first filing day, as the only candidate to earn a place on the March 1996 Democratic primary ballot.
Obama said that the challenges were necessitated by the obvious flaws in the challengers' signature sheets. "To my mind, we were just abiding by the rules that had been set up," he said in a 2007 interview with the Chicago Tribune. When asked if voters were not disserviced by a ballot with no opposing candidates, Obama said "I think they ended up with a very good state senator."

This thread is about the release of a document that many people have demanded to see for at least 3 years. Now that the document has supposedly been released, it behooves us to scrutinise it to see if it is in fact authentic. Being a genealogy guy, the things raised about how the various fields were filled on the document do not strike me as out of the ordinary at all. Actually, one expects individuals filling out form to have some sort of little unique way in which they respond to the questions. In fact, it would be more than odd if such things did not appear on such a document.
Aside from that, this gives us solid evidence of what we've said about King Barry all along: He's an absurdly narcissistic, petulant child, and this is evidenced by his not releasing this earlier.
I don't buy into the other kind of conpiracy stories that suggest that this was all part of some clever political calculation. Yes, the habitual distraction method prevents the public from noticing reality. Today's news marks the incestuous mingling of authoritarians merging our supposedly separate and limited branches of government into an amalgamated Beast.
The percussionist, reading the score, awaits for the correct entry to break the mounting suspense of silence. Given, "natural born citizen" is only one motive within the 2012 Overture. But then, remember as well that Schubert illustrated within his Unfinished Symphony how to utilize its "least significant" theme to provide the structural cohesion of his orchestral masterpiece.

Chester A. Arthur's father was Irish born, and was not naturalized till Chester was 14.
Spiro Agnew's father was a Greek immigrant. So were the parents of Mike Dukakis.
The fathers of Geraldine Ferraro and Ed Muskie were both immigrants.
Charles Evans Hughes (Republican candidate in 1916) was born to parents who were British immigrants, not yet naturalized at the time. It was claimed in 1916 that he was therefore not a "natural born citizen".
The peculiar intensity of this issue for some people, and their attraction to legal claims never before asserted does suggest an unspoken and improper motive, deriving from a unique quality of the Obama case. That may be true for some, but there is a second unique quality which also contributes: unlike the cases listed above, Obama's father was never an American.
Even that doesn't really matter - his mother was, and he was born in the U.S.
But one can see why it would make some people crazy.

THOMAS JEFFERSON
"I can't omit recommending a revisal of the laws on the subject of naturalization. ... The Constitution, indeed, has wisely provided that, for admission to certain offices of important trust, a residence shall be required sufficient to develop character and design. But might not the general character and capabilities of a citizen be safely communicated to everyone manifesting a bona fide purpose of embarking his life and fortune permanent with us? with restriction, perhaps, to guard against the fraudulent assumption of our flag; an abuse which brings so much embarrassment and loss of the genuine citizen, and so much danger to the nation of being involved in war, that no endeavor should be spared to detect and supress it. -- FIRST ANNUAL MESSAGE. viii, 14. FORD E., viii, 124. (Dec. 1801) [available online, The Jefferson cyclopedia, page 609, entry #5699]
The term Natural born Citizen appears in our Constitution, in Article 1, Section 2, with these words, “No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.”
Before the Constitution the closest reference we have to Natural Born Citizen is from the legal treatise “The Law of Nations,” written by Emerich de Vattel in 1758. In book one chapter 19,
§ 212. Of the citizens and natives.
“The citizens are the members of the civil society; bound to this society by certain duties, and subject to its authority, they equally participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens. As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all their rights. The society is supposed to desire this, in consequence of what it owes to its own preservation; and it is presumed, as matter of course, that each citizen, on entering into society, reserves to his children the right of becoming members of it. The country of the fathers is therefore that of the children; and these become true citizens merely by their tacit consent. We shall soon see whether, on their coming to the years of discretion, they may renounce their right, and what they owe to the society in which they were born. I say, that, in order to be of the country, it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen; for, if he is born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country.”
"Please note that the correct title of Vattel's Book I, Chapter 19, section 212, is “Of the citizens and naturals”. It is not “Of citizens and natives” as it was originally translated into English. While other translation errors were corrected in reprints, that 1759 translation error was never corrected in reprints. The error was made by translators in London operating under English law, and was mis-translated in error, or was possibly translated to suit their needs to convey a different meaning to Vattel to the English only reader. In French, as a noun, native is rendered as “originaire” or “indigene”, not as “naturel”. For “naturel” to mean native would need to be used as an adjective. In fact when Vattel defines "natural born citizens" in the second sentence of section 212 after defining general or ordinary citizens in the first sentence, you see that he uses the word "indigenes" for natives along with "Les naturels" in that sentence. He used the word "naturels" to emphasize clearly who he was defining as those who were born in the country of two citizens of the country. Also, when we read Vattel, we must understand that Vattel's use of the word "natives" in 1758 is not to be read with modern day various alternative usages of that word. You must read it in the full context of sentence 2 of section 212 to fully understand what Vattel was defining from natural law, i.e., natural born citizenship of a country. Please see the photograph of the original French for Chapter 19, Section 212, here in the original French if you have any doubts. Please do not simply look at the title as some have suggested that is all you need to do. Vattel makes it quite clear he is not speaking of natives in this context as someone simply born in a country, but of natural born citizens, those born in the country of two citizens of the country. Our founding Fathers were men of high intellectual abilities, many were conversant in French, the diplomatic language of that time period. Benjamin Franklin had ordered 3 copies of the French Edition of “Le droit des gens,” which he deferred to as the authoritative version as to what Vattel wrote and what Vattel meant and intended to elucidate.

His dad was a subject of the British Crown. In 1961, we didn't have anchor babies. His daddy was British, therefore Barry Dunham IS British.

BHO's latest doesn't pass the smell test! Speller is right: Show one other BC from the early '60's that lists "African" as the race of a parent!
Show any official document where a son is named after his father and is listed as a "II" instead of "Jr". If you're named after dad you're a "Jr." ---I know firsthand, I fought that battle with some credit card companies!
Why is BHO's official BC number out of sequence? His BC was filed with the official Registrar a couple days earlier than the Nordyke twins, who were born a day later in Kapiolani, yet his number is higher than theirs? Can't they count in Hawaii?
Birth place of a parent is a city and state or country, not a country and direction on a continent: "Kenya, East Africa"? WTF? Does one say "Massachusetts, East US" as one's place of birth? How about "Nairobi, Kenya," which was Obama Sr's true birthplace?
Nope, the bunch who f*#ked up the originally-posted"Certification of Live Birth, fubar-ed this document as well!
Why can't I ever get lucky enough to have such goofballs prep my opponents' docs for their court cases?

This whole issue of ObamaÂ’s birth certificate is irrelevant, unless Barack Hussein Obama is not his father.
He states in his book that his father was a British Citizen, making him Constitutionally unqualified to be President of the United States!
Natural Born Citizen requires that both parents are Citizens.
Native Born is someone born on US soil.
Natural Born relates to parentage, Native Born refers to where you were born.
Barack has clearly stated that his alleged father was not a Citizen; therefore, where he was born is irrelevant!
